I think version exclusive evolution is a really good gimmick. And both Lycanrocs have good designs. However, I don't think either Rockruff or Lycanroc look rock type. I guess it's because their skin looks like, well, skin.
It's also funny how despite only the night Lycanroc being a werewolf, they're both called Lycanroc, the first part of which is derived from Lycanthrope, which means werewolf.
