Say Trey, how about getting our battle in now?

Edit: and Cresselia, Raikou, and the like are generally allowed in standard tournament battles, this tourney is somewhat of an oddball for banning them.

Like genus said, I am used to competitive standard tournaments, and I absolutely had no idea Cresselia was banned. I do my best to follow the rules, it was just an honest mistake. I did win that match with Scyther, however, I would like a rematch with XxScytherXx if the judges permit and I will use the same Pokemon all except for Cresselia. But if you will not allow that, then well I tried.

So I would like an official judges decision for this.

I don't want to battle again. You broke the rules, it's the second round, so I don't think you should have a second chance.

Read the rules if you're going to join a tournament and don't think we're like everyone else.

It was not a purpose breaking of the rules, and I agree to use all the same Pokemon, except that one, so I would still like a judges decision.

Seriously, there's no point in battling again. So stop insulting me on AIM, and accept that you forgot to read the rules. I'm not battling you again.

You're too sensitive if you think that simple talk is insulting, and obviously it looks like you're just afraid of battling again. Most savy competitors would welcome a rematch.

That's why you read the whole post, including the Rules section, on what pokémon you're allowed to use.

I'm going to have to agree with Blukikatina on this one, the whole "let's ban everything that looks even remotely threatening" idea is pretty dumb. If you're banning pokemon on the merits of being 'overpowered', round up stuff like Gyarados and Tyranitar which are much bigger threats in DP than such legendary pokemon as Raikou, Suicine, those weaklings Entei, Moltres, Articuno, etc.

And even if he did break a rule, albeit an arbitrary one with little place in any competitive environment, he did so unknowingly and should not be faulted. Give him a second chance, he is the better battler and the results will almost certainly be the same.

You might make the argument that Scyther himself would bring in stuff like Jirachi, Zapdos, etc. had this rule not been in place, but it really isn't valid because many teams function well without Cresselia and legendary co.

Anyways, are you almost ready Trey? I'm waiting on wifi. Check in to chat.

Yeah, for once I actually agree with genus... I think I supported banning legendaries back in the day, but after pwning plenty of Cresselias and Jirachis (even though I feel Jirachi is a bit different), Cresselia isn't actually that hard to defeat.

When you run a stall team, or use a Blissey, you should always carry a Pokemon to take an opposing Blissey out, because nothing sucks worse than a stall war between Blissey and some other wall (and if it's Blissey vs. Blissey, it WILL end up as a struggle war). The fact that Blissey is he single most commonly used Pokemon makes me think that every team should have a sure-fire way to defeat her, even if it's only based on prediction.

This isn't exactly the thread to talk about this. In my opinion, Pokecommunity is famous for not using them.

So, if he used Mewtwo, everyone would be fine with it? Because that's in the banned list?

Scyther, stop whining. If you can't beat Skarmbliss, you really don't deserve to move on. At least play him again.

Legendary =/= Uber by default, let's go over some of the reasons Cresselia isn't considered Uber.

1) Poor typing-defensively, psychic is awful. A weakness to a stab move from 3 very common sweeper pokemon (Weavile, Tyranitar, Heracross) and a boatload of others means stuff can menace Cresselia by typing alone.
2) Lackluster attack stats-Cresselia can do nothing against anything else 'out of the box', and needs those charge beam boosts to survive. Even then, it's not the most potent of battlers.
3) Outclassed by others-Cresselia is a watered down Blissey with good defense, or a watered down Hippowdon with good special defense. You have better specialists you can turn to, instead of a "2-for-1" bargain bin deal.

In closing...well, I'm battling Trey right now. I spent 20 minutes or so adding small tidbits to this post. I sort of forgot what my original point was.

Defeated Trey 3-0...gg.

I have to give him credit, he did very well considering half his pokemon had no items, and I had gotten a 6 stage raise in *a stat* for *a pokemon*. Solid battle.

Looks like the guy who made his predictions for this round was off by a bit.
