I'll go ahead and put "Meddle" up for my favorite Pink Floyd album.

"One Of These Days" is a great opener. Possibly the best instrumental rock song of all time. And of course, Echoes, the 23:35 long song, which just so happens to sync up with the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Dark Side Of The Moon/Wizard Of Oz, eat your heart out.

Ayyyy, love the choices! I see Ayumi/UVERWorld in there so that makes me a very happy boy. :D

Ah, of course I can rely on EC to come through with a blinder. Excellent choice.

quite honestly, i really didn't like ayumi a while ago. when she released party queen, i hated that too and couldn't get past the first few songs. if it wasn't for a really good friend of mine, i wouldn't have listened to reminds me off the album, and well i started to really appreciate the album as a whole and the story it tells.

Where is that thread, by the way? I cannot find it for the life of me. Was it deleted when this one was put up?

  • This was so damn hard to make in the end. I feel like I was scraping, but I couldn't deal with the boxes being empty so I dug and dug.

    Spoiler:

Anyway, most of the albums on here are there because they've meant something to me at some point in my life. I mean some are there just purely for sound quality (I mean, they're all great in that aspect, I would say...lol) but some are there for more than just being good. Invoking thoughts or feelings, getting me through rough patches, or even just being full of bops. I'm not going to go through every single album for this, though. I don't want to write it, you don't want to read it, I'll spare you and I both, lol.

  • I find it really difficult to make lists like this with so many factors to consider. For the most part, I've tried to aggregate my overall enjoyment of the album if I listen to it the whole way through, how much I've listened to the individual tracks and in some cases how long the album has stuck with me (so no Damn. just yet). That said the only album I feel even remotely bad about cutting was AM by Arctic Monkeys, so my main problems were more with how to order the albums rather than which ones belong in the top 50.

I could really do with diversifying my taste in every aspect imaginable. Very few genres represented, very few nations represented (literally just USA, UK, Canada and the one NZ) and almost all from 2000s/2010s. I should probably have done a one album per artist rule too.

Nice to see some of my picks in previous posts.
