So, I've recently started to get interested in cards again. I am just wondering, is there any set that includes all the first generation pokemon? I just got a sudden urge to start collecting again but I want to only include the first generation and wanted to see if that is a good idea or not? also...

I need some advice , I got some Platinum and HGSS booster packs, one theme deck (mind flood) and some kind of booster package with a coin, a promo card and then there are 3 booster packs in it which two are HGSS packs and the last one I can't seem to know the name considering it is covered by the coin and the other pack. And I want to sell these things, is it better to open these packs, put them in plastic containers and sell individually or just sell them in packs as they are?

    The short answer is: No.

The long answer is: No set ever has contained 151 different Pokèmon. Thus, no one set can possibly have contained the entire Kanto Pokédex.

As a collector, your best bet is to start buying packs of XY Evolutions. Evolutions contains a majority of the kanto dex. I'll write a full guide for Daily eventually.

I'm not the expert as far as the packs are concerned, you'll have to ask someone who knows what they're talking about.

Also, adding onto ddrox's stuff about the original 151: A lot of the earliest sets aren't worth your time because the cards and booster packs from them cost obscene amounts of money for someone who's just getting back into the game.

Here's a similar thread where we answered a similar question from last week: https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=397472

As for the stuff you already have, you're probably best off selling them as they are if the packages haven't been opened. The odds of pulling a worthwhile card from the booster packs are low enough that selling the boosters is the safe bet. And if you open the packs you'll end up stuck with a bunch of commons and uncommons that you can't sell. Plus, the theme deck won't sell well at all without the complete package.

For prices, I generally look at sold listings on eBay to figure this stuff out.

ok thanks for all the help, I looked into the thread and will try to look up those sets. Would it trouble you if you could send a private message to me when you will put it up Decidueye?

Everything is unopened, even the theme pack is. Long story short how I got them, worked at a warehouse where we throw old magazines and newspapers, these just came with a bag and a colleague asked if I wanted them. (Long time ago)
