i can do ev's but ivs confuse me. but yeah, im training a current team from scratch right now!

they're essential in online battling, sometimes they even do more than Iv's
Like let's say a pokemon has 300atk, with adamant they have 330
But seriously for ingame battling you can just smother anyone with basically anything

IVs, EVs, and Natures play a huge part in success in competetive. If you don't care about them, just don't battle. So yes, I care about them.

I posted something on another thread about this but since you talked about IV's and EV's, the only EV's I use are 6 HP/252 ATK/252 SPD, it can be really work on pokemon but you have to have a counter attack that's the weakness of the attacker who's attacking my pokemon.

Yes, I care about Natures, I don't know what EV's and IV's are, and how are they useful in online battling?

@Moana: That Ev spread won't work for every pokemon. all of them are different.

@Sk8tr: Read the stickies in the Strategies and Movesets place.

I care about them too. They are very, very neccesary.

Since I don't battle Human-verses-Human often at all, not really.

I mean, why put in all that work if you'll rarely use the result?

Considering I just got into competitive play, yes
Teams don't do well on Wifi if they aren't EV trained.
And IVs help, but I don't care too much for them.

only n00bs don't care about EVs, IVs, and especially natures. Come on natures are so easy to get, you might as well try for them. The only time I don't care about these things is for an in-game team. But just try the battle tower without EVs, IVs, or natures and you'll see why you should care.

I do sometimes care about EV's, and i always try and EV train my shinies i catch.. and also legendaries, but thats about it.

Absolutely! I spend a lot of time working to find that close to perfect Pokemon. I set high standards for myself and my Pokemon, and if I want to become known as a great battler, I need the Pokemon strong enough to cope in a competitive situation. They are just so crucial.

Nope, I wish people would just battle normally.

I'm way too impatient to EV one pokemon nevermind six besides that the items that are used regularly in competitive play are hard to get so getting numerous of them is tough.

I prefer to breed and trade to up my Dex.

I'll get to competitive battling when I'm old enough to bother. (Probably by the time we get Platina/Platinum)

since it's so easy to gain a good nature (ever stone) and the right EVs (items, pkrs, vitamines) i do care about them. also you have to care about them, otherwise youll be losing all the time.

but the IVs can get frustrating, and they really aren't thát important.

I didn't care about Natures and EVs at first, but having read a bit about the basics, I've realised just how important they are when battling with other people.

As anyone else may or may not have said, you won't bother with them if you're just going around battling CPU Trainers.
