    ok ev training is not complicated its very easy really so im assuming your empoleon is not ev trained well every pkmn has an ev value example starly is worth 1 speed ev and bidoof has 1 hp value so every. so there are 6 ev stats for all the stats you can have up to 510 evs in a pkmn but only 252 in one stat.i think its for every 4 evs=1 stat gain so it can make a big difference in battle
