Kalseng's Sig thread is officially open!

It seems that in my massive dimensional-teleporting adventures, I stumbled upon many pictures and interesting objects! So I vigorously threw them at my GIMP program, and these wonderful signatures popped out! In fact, I'll be using one soon!

OK, I am not going to request, I am going to rate the formatting so you get the most out of your thread!
Firstly, having a successful graphics shop is about keeping things simple and immediately getting your art across to the people. The spoilers are preventing lazy people from seeing your graphics and you may lose customers. It takes up a bit more room, but if as soon as people come in, they see your art, they may be drawn to request before reading anything. After all, "A picture paints a thousand words".

I might come in later for a request or a full graphics rate if I have time!

Your newer graphics are definitely better than your older ones, but they're still a long way from perfect.

Not every tag needs to have a crazy, abstract background. One of the things I'm noticing with your tags is that you tend to focus more on the background than the actual render. Seriously, don't do that. You want the render to be the 'focus of attention', also know as the focal point. Try repositioning your renders so they take up more of the canvas, eliminating most, if not all of the empty space.

You also might want to think about using actual images as backgrounds. One of the key aspects of a good signature is depth, the majority of which is blurring and burning. An abstract background is... well, abstract! It wouldn't really make a difference if you blurred out some areas, as no one would be able to tell that wasn't how it was suppose to be in the first place. Where as an actual image (such as a forest or a city) would have distinctive parts to it, and the viewer would be able to distinguish which parts were blurred and whatnot. Does that make sense?

Anyway, those are the two main things I think you need to work on, besides text which is incredibly hard sometimes, so I'd just leave text out until you become a little better if I were you.

Rockets: My old backgrounds are entirely abstract, considering the fact that they a re fractal pictures atop dirty backgrounds with splatters that were colorized. That, my good friend, is very abstract. However, my neweer work uses different backgrounds in order to portray the feel that I want to get across. In the Ifrit signature, I used a fire background as my back picture, and I really liked it, so I stuck with it. Shiva has a beautiful blue waterfall as her background, and I really like that. The Epoch has a picture of an ancient city, and that seems most obvious. The reason that the pictures don't take up much of the signatures is becasue they're just that. Signatures. They need to have the name of whoever they represent be the very center of the focus, rather than the pictures themselves.

Optiimus, I got your signature finished. I know that you said you wanted an Autobot symbol, but it wasn't really working with what I worked on, and you said maybe, so I figured it wasn't that important. Regardless, first post updated, and signature number one is done.

It's alright. If you think it's just the darkness, then tell me if you want it lightened, or if you wanted a different color scheme all together.

Well.. Um, no. You're definitely wrong, sorry to say. :/

When a signature (or any piece of art for that matter) focus' on text more than the actual picture, it's called Typography (read up on it). Forum style signatures usually focus more on the picture than the text. For example, check out my signature. This was made by one of the best here, and, as you can see, it definitely focus' more on the render than the text.

I'm not saying text isn't an important factor, but if you're more worried about it than your basic elements of design, typography is what you want to be doing right now.

Oh, and one more thing; if you want the text to be the center of attention, you should try, y'know... actually using some visually appealing fonts and colors. The text on the banners you have above (old and new) is terrible (as I said before, it's fine to leave it out if you don't know how to do it).

as far as the actual graphic/image I just want it to be related to Dunder Mifflin/The Office (It's a TV show). You can have complete creative license. And if it's as good as I think it will be, I'll drop you a rep as my thank you. I would like the colors to be lighter if possible (possibly a white background?)

Highly impressive I would assume you use PS? None the less when I saw that House Wife Terror...ROFLOL! But yes keep up your awesomely astounding work.

Actually, I'm using the free program called GIMP. Which stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. I have no idea what GNU stands for, however. Dammed random letter generators.

Image: Use your imagination, I would really like it to be Gray and black but if you put some colors put some red in there, I would like the infinity sign in there even if its very small and difficult to notice. and maybe a devil and an angel or like a fallen angel or something you know? The generic cool sig basicly.
