Jack Davis
It was around the mid afternoon when Jack exited the pokemon center. It had been a long and ardeous journey to Lilycove City but Jack had managed it. The trainers had been considerably harder than in the other part of Hoenn but it wasn't anything Jack couldn't handle. His first stop he had planned for was the department store, which was huge! Inside he could find anything he needed, be it potions, TM's, or even vitamins for his pokemon. He had already set aside some cash to spend specifically on his needed supplies and as he walked through the city a man stepped in front of him. He wore a cloak as well as a set of orange sunglasses. Jack didn't have any time to react when the man pulled out a cell phone and snapped a picture of him.
As the man tended to a device on his hip Jack's body stance grew tense, "Excuse me, sir? Is there something I can help you with?" The tone of his voice was hard, he didn't know who this guy was or why he was obsessed with taking his photo but the 'introduction' alone gave Jack a bad feeling. The device beeped and the man smirked, "YOU THERE! I CHALLENGE YOU TO A BATTLE! One pokemon! DO YOU ACCEPT!?"
Jack didn't know what taking a picture had to do with battling but he was ready none the less. "Of course I accept!"
The cloaked man smirked, "Very well! Come on out Machoke!" The man threw a pokeball out and the muscular pokemon popped out, taking a moment to flex its muscles before getting into its battle position.
Jack knew just who to use. "Come on out Bravo!" The Banette popped out and chuckled deviously at her opponent.
"Machoke use foresight!" The man's machoke narrowed his eyes at Bravo as the Banette's body glowed a bright white for a brief second. "Bravo send him a shadow ball!" The Banetter formed a black ball in her hands and hurled it at the fighter.
"Brace for it Machoke!" Machoke's body tensed as the ball slammed into his chest, "Now counter with a karate chop!" The machoke ran straight at Bravo, but Jack knew what move to use. "Bravo take it, then counter with shadow sneak!" The banette raised her arms to protect her head as the machoke's outstretched palm slammed down. As soon as the Machoke's attack hit the Banette's shadow seemed to take on a life of it's own and stretched out to appear behind Machoke and slashed at its target with its claws. Machoke cried out in pain which allowed Jack a quick second to issue another command. "Bravo another shadow ball!" The Banette chuckled as it formed another dark ball and threw it at its opponent, but instead it flew through the air and slammed against the ground when the man recalled his pokemon.
The man clapped, "Splendid job young man, here you earned this." The man took out a brochure, a map, and a badge case. As Jack turned around to talk to the man he couldn't see him anywhere. The crowd that had gathered to watch the match began to depart and Jack opened up the brochure.

Jack read through the brochure and pulled out his badge case and saw that it did have a badge component in it. Bravo lept unto his shoulder to look at the brochure and Jack just smiled, "At ease Bravo, take a rest. You earned it." Jack recalled his pokemon and looked at the brochure.
It couldn't hurt to try, he thought. He then turned his attention to the map and saw that it referred to the Lethia Region.
Never heard of that region before, he thought. The region seemed to be a miss mash of all kinds of terrain. Jack smirked and looked once again through the brochure's safety and survival tips before he headed to the department store.
