Pokemon: The Third Genesis

Scientists called it the meteor shower of the century. Hundreds of small meteors were predicted to burn up in the atmosphere of the Pokemon World. However, the festive atmosphere suddenly disappeared when one not-so-ordinary meteor struck Canalave City, decimating buildings and killing all but one of it's inhabitants. Now, one year later, there have been sightings of new Pokemon in the area surrounding Jubilife City. Trainers from all over the world are now flocking to the Sinnoh region to attempt to capture one. You shall take the role of one such trainer, eager to capture one of these exciting new Pokemon, yet blissfully unaware of the dark secrets they hold.

Characters are expected to be experienced trainers, but not masters. One character is also needed to play the survivor of Canalave City.

Rating: Teen/16+ (No flat-out sex scenes, but dark themes will be present.)

Story Tone: Psychological Horror. Adventure. Large emphasis on drama.

Six Character Limit. (I might bend the rules if your character application is phenomenal.)

The "new" Pokemon really aren't that new. They're the same as pre-existing breeds, but with a few modifications to color, physical appearance, etc.

NAME: Nichole Thana (Greek word for "death")

AGE: 17

GENDER:Female

APPEARENCE: Nichole wears a tight dark purple tank top and black jeans. Black knee high boots cover her feet, and add a little to her short height. Long golden hair cascades down to the small of her back, and she also wears fingerless lace black gloves. A Ruby heart on a gold chain adorns her neck, which belonged to her mother. Her eyes are sky blue, however in a moment of extreme anger they have been known to turn purple. Though she is short, her well developed chest helps to make her age more believable.

PERSONALITY: Nichole, though her past is very dark, tries her hardest to see the positives in every situation. She is usually a quiet person, though will always speak her mind when necessary. She adores her pokemon, as they have saved her through many a tough situation, and tends not to trust people. Her fatal flaw is she is very stubborn, and tends not to listen to the voice of reason when she really wants something. She is fairly smart, but has more common sense then book smarts. Though she is sometimes called a "buxom beauty" by some, she doesnt look at herself as being above anyone, and is very humble and down to earth.

BIO: Nichole has a very dark past when it comes to her childhood. She was born in Lavendar town, and was raised by her mother until she was 7. Her father had abandoned both his wife and daughter in order to pursue a legendary pokemon that was rumored to be off the coast of Cinnabar Island, and never came back. She was very close to her mother, who was a pokemon researcher, and went on a few expeditions with her. Her mom's research was centered around DNA of a legendary pokemon that was discovered embeded in a rock in Mount Moon, and she was about to lead a press conference revealing what she had found, when her lab exploded and her discovery was destroyed. Unfortunately, Candy Thana was also killed in the "accident." Nichole was only 7, though she knew it was intentional. She did her best as a kid to help track down what happened, but nothing was found. Her mother's death is to this day still considered an accident, though Nichole vowed she would one day find the culprit.

Nichole was placed in the care of Mr. Fuji, the town elder, where she learned how to quell her anger with the help of pokemon. She didnt think she would ever be close with them again, after everything with her mom, but she found herself falling in love with them. She was captivated by the power of the ghost types, how they could manipulate human emotion and senses, and began to study them. Her first pokemon that Mr. Fuji gave her was a Vulpix, and Nichole learned how to teach her ghost type moves. She used the mannerisms of ghost pokemon to teach her own battle style (which I wont reveal til later on. Cant spoil everything! ;) ).

Nichole traveled the Kanto region at the age of 11, and came back to find that Lavendar town had put in a radio tower, and had disturbed the grave sites in the tower. Furious, Nichole asked them to leave her town, and that it was wrong to do so. Of course, no one would listen to a 12 year old girl, so she was forced to go back home. Upon being back with Mr Fuji, Nichole learned that at night strange things were happening. The people were all going mad! Murder rates were through the roof, people were killing themselves in fits of depression, and everyone was on edge. Of course it never hit the news; Radio Tower reps were all about covering it up. But Nichole set out to figure it all out. She discovered that a group of Shuppet were the cause, sucking out people's emotions and making them go mad. After presenting this to the president of the radio tower, they shut it down, and everything went back to normal. The graves were returned to the tower, and the shuppet returned to the House of Memories.

Nowadays, Nichole is petitioning the Kanto Region to allow her to start a gym for ghost types.

NAME: Mason Hughes

AGE: 17

GENDER: Male

APPEARENCE: Mason is relatively short for his age, standing only 5' 4.5" tall. He has an average build; a little bit of a stomach, but not enough to be noticeable by any but the most perceptive. He has blue eyes and a shaggy mess of dark brown hair that goes just low enough to occasionally obscure his vision. He is very nearsighted and requires glasses, though he rarely wears them, preferring designer contacts instead. He primarily wears close-fitting jeans and T-shirts, preferring the casual look in all situations. His clothing is almost exclusively red, white or black. He always has a brown leather messenger bag slung around one shoulder, and keeps his pokeballs attached to a simple black necklace for ease of access.

PERSONALITY: Mason used to be that one guy everyone avoids at a party. The one who thinks he's God's gift to women (although most women would disagree) and the funniest person in existence. His bombastic and abrasive nature often got him into trouble, and he has recently become more withdrawn, opting to be alone whenever possible.

Mason, due to his priviliged upbringing, has always harbored a vast superiority complex. He views almost everyone he meets as beneath himself, and expects special treatment in all circumstances. He is quick to remind everyone that he is a member of the powerful and wealthy Hughes family, but neglects to tell them that he has been disowned by them. He tries to hit on almost every woman he sees and often ends up making an ass of himself because of it.

His entire personality can best be described as superficial, as he harbors many troubles beneath his carefree and arrogant facade. Despite his attempts at womanizing, he secretly battles intense loneliness, and longs to meet someone he can have a genuine, long-term relationship with (although he'd never admit it).

BIO: Mason was born in the forested confines of Twinleaf Town, the son of Aaron Hughes, wealthy businessman and his wife Cassandra Hughes, highly decorated war hero and politician.

The Hughes have been one of the most powerful and influential families in Kanto for more than a century, with business moguls, high ranking politicians and diplomats in the ranks. As such, Mason was brought up in an extremely lavish environment. Despite his parents constant lectures on humility and empathy, Mason let this lifestyle get to his head, and became arrogant and condescending as a result.

Mason was a well-enough behaved boy in his formative years, but once he hit puberty he began to go crazy, contrasting the dignified nature of his fellow Hughes. His constant partying and (attempted) womanizing were mostly tolerated by his parents and rationalized as a teenager being a teenager, but things took a turn for the worse on his 17th birthday. No one knows what he did to finally drive his parents over the edge; all anyone knows is that he was kicked out of his home and struck from his parent's will. Any inquiries into the incident are met with stony silence from Mason, followed by his further withdrawal from the present company.

Suddenly finding himself out on the streets with almost no money, Mason became a pokemon trainer in order to support himself, most days barely scraping together enough food to call a meal. He had no prior contact with pokemon battling prior to the incident (he always claimed the sport was "beneath him"), but he was a fast learner, and became skilled enough to (just barely) support himself. His first catch was a pidgey outside of Accumula Town, who grew to be his greatest companion. Although he still acts arrogant and selfish around other people, he treats his pokemon with respect and love.

Mason didn't have any particular interest in the rumors of new pokemon near the Canalave Ruins, but realized that many other trainers would be; and where there are lots of trainers, there is lots of money to be won. He'd been nomadic since his start as a trainer, so he decided he didn't have anything to lose and set off in the direction of Jubilife City.

When we list our Pokemon, do we even need to post level or movesets, or will they not be relevant? And, if so, are we limited to 4 moves per pokemon, and do those moves have to be moves they can actually have in the games?

Moves have to be ones featured in the games, but you may have more than four. Levels are not required, but encouraged to help me decide disagreements that may or may not pop up.

NAME: Justin Fielder

AGE: 17

GENDER: Male

APPEARENCE: Around 5' 9" in height. Thinner than most guys but stronger than he looks. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. He is white with a slight tan from working out in the sun. Always wears jeans, tennis shoes, and t-shirts. The T-Shirts are usually black or some dark color. Occasionally he will wear sunglasses and his favorite black baseball cap with a white scorpion on the front. He also carries a decent sized, but concealed, knife with him.

PERSONALITY: He doesn't talk much around people he doesn't really know, unless he has something to say. He doesn't back down from fights, and has no problem jumping into dangerous situations to help somebody unless the situation involves his one fear.... heights.

BIO: Justin lived in Pewter City, Kanto as a kid. When he was 11 he moved to the Hoenn region, but then decided to become a trainer at the age of 13.

Throughout the years he traveled from region to region beating gym after gym and going from one league to another. He was training for his first badge in sinnoh when he got a call from his family that Teams Magma and Aqua were causing trouble in Hoenn, so he hopped onto a ship and sailed back home.

The ship barely made it to port from all the crashing waves. But he got onto land and found out what the problem was. Both of the evil groups were waking up legendary pokemon to destroy the Region. With the help of Team Rocket, Magma and Aqua were able to get the legendary bird trio to cause even more distruction. Justin thought he might be able to get rayquaza, but then heard that rayquaza was being controlled and was currently attacking the Hoenn Pokemon League. So, Justin, with the help of some famous Hoenn trainers, got Jirachi, Mew, and Celebi together and managed to stop everything and save Hoenn.

After the chaos... or before, since celebi turned back time. Justin decided to stop being a trainer. He let all but three of his pokemon out into the wild and moved to Route 120, where he built a small shelter. He was in fortree getting a few things when he saw news of strange pokemon found around sinnoh. So, he went back to his shelter, grabbed his backpack, threw his cap and shades on, and headed towards Lilycove, to sail to Sinnoh.

POKEMON: Flareon, Absol, and Scyther.

Name: Paxton D. Faust

Gender: Male

Age: Fifteen

Appearance: Paxton is about 6'1". He has caucasian skin, and gets sunburnt often because he is allergic to sunscreen. He has blonde hair, and it is in a mophead-style. Paxton has no facial hair, due to the fact that he hates facial hair. He has light blue eyes. His head is inverted-triangle shaped. Paxton is fairly slender, but his legs are relatively large, due to Paxton liking to go places on foot. Paxton wears a white snow hat that has an image of the Icicle Badge on the front. He also has a white hoodie with "Snowpoint" imprinted on it in sky blue letters and blue jeans. His Running Shoes, the same color as his hoodie, were customized so that he can run in snow and sand.

Personality: Paxton is fairly shy, and gets intimidated by anyone who yells at him or has a lot of power. As such, he follows orders of these people, not giving it a second thought. If he is comfortable with a person, though, he likes to play pranks on that person, where his most common method is astonishing that person. Paxton has ochophobia (fear of vehicles), and he usually runs or uses his Pokemon to fly wherever he wants. Paxton also has pyrophobia (fear of fire), and whenever he sees fire, he stays clear away from it. Paxton has a fascination with the Dark, Psychic, and Ghost type Pokemon, and has qualities of each, being intelligent (Psychic) and sometimes using these qualities to prank and scare people (Ghost) and even manipulate them (Dark).

History: Paxton was born in the Snowpoint City Hospital and was the only child of Hannah and Matthias Faust. The Faust family was very high class and bought only the best there is for Paxton, from food to clothes to toys. Paxton was sheltered from the other kids, getting home-schooled by the best tutors in Northern Sinnoh. When the other kids went out to do snowball fights, Paxton was forced to use the Battlebro 9000, a machine meant to test the best battlers in the land. As such, Paxton was the best battler in Snowpoint City at age 10, with Candice, 11 years old at the time, being the only possible exception. Paxton couldn't test it, though, because he was kept from the other children at the time.

When Paxton was 11, his parents were driving home from an important business trip, when a major accident cost the parents their lives. Paxton, the only survivor of the accident, was scarred by the incident and gained ochophobia. He was left under the care of his aunt, Jennifer Strauss. She let Paxton play with the other kids like he wanted. He caught his first real Pokemon, Sneasel, three days later under the guidance of Candice. Since then, Paxton strived to be better then Candice, the two becoming rivals.

Paxton first left Snowpoint when he was 12, where he then started to explore the other cities of Sinnoh. Other people recognized Paxton as the heir of the Faust family, and saw him as spoiled, not strong enough to be a real trainer. Paxton was determined to gain their respect. By his 14th birthday, those people who saw Paxton as a spoiled brat were astounded by his power as a trainer. But then, Flint of the Elite Four wanted a go at Paxton. Their battle was fierce, until a rouge Flamethrower by Magmortar almost hit Paxton. The match had to end early due to Paxton's hyperventilating. Paxton then developed pyrophobia, and started living in Resort Area, staying there to the present day.

NAME: Marcus Smith

AGE: 16

GENDER: Male

APPEARANCE: Marcus is around average height, standing at around 5'9. He has ear length messy red hair. Slightly toned, but slender for the most part. Skin tone is pale, but Marcus has no freckles. His eyes are stormy gray. He wears brown cargo shorts that reach his knees along with a light green hoodie over a plain white shirt. In cold weather, he also wears a black ski cap.

PERSONALITY: Generally quiet, not opening up easily to others. He enjoys playing handheld video games. Feels a need to constantly travel to avoid close relationships. Never catches new Pokemon, remaining only with his Pikachu. However, under his quiet demeanor, Marcus actually longs for a lasting relationship with another human. Feels at home and safe in any kind of medical center because they remind him of his surrogate father.

BIO: Marcus woke up in a hospital in Jubilife a year before the present date with no memory of himself or even his own name. In the hospital, he met Doctor Gerald Smith, an outgoing MD who informed Marcus that he was the sole survivor of the Canalave Catastrophe. It was Dr. Smith who gave Marcus his first name, but Marcus later chose the last name "Smith" on his own, growing to see Dr. Smith as his surrogate father. During his two month stay in the Jubilife City Hospital, Marcus met his red Pikachu. It soon took to Marcus, following him everywhere. After he was released from the hospital, Marcus officially "caught" his Pikachu in a Pokeball, and set off on a journey around Sinnoh. However, prior to the news of new Pokemon appearing, Marcus remained as far away from the Canalave Ruins as possible, fearing that he may recover his memories, which he feels are better left uncovered for the sake of his sanity.

NAME: Tanaka Fuzi

AGE: 17
GENDER: Male

APPEARENCE: He has golden hair that hangs down to his shoulders that he keeps in no particular style, but combed straight.He has hazel eyes with gold flecks in it, olive colored skin, and a light beard. He's 6'2, pretty tall, and about 150 pounds. He always wears dark jeans and a black t-shirt with a pokeball displayed on the front. He usually wears a belt just to make him look cooler. He wears a yellow beanie as well. He has great looks as well.

PERSONALITY: Tanaka is a stereo typical surfer. He says things like 'Dude' or 'gnarly' all the time. He's also quick to start a fight. He has a strange fear of fire, so he manages to keep a fire extinguisher for some reason that weighs more than everything else he carries combined. He has two pokemon, but he loves all. He also tends to procrastinate. He surfs quite a bit, and has well toned leg muscles from doing so. He has ridicoulous upper body strength that his height may or may not have a part in. He loves pokemon, but he loves women as well and has been known as a player in the past. His one fatal flaw is the fact that he is uber competitive.

BIO: Tanaka grew up in Ollivine in Johto. He spent most of his days playing in the ocean. When he was about seven, his father got him a Poliwag that he loved so much. He named it Paul. He spent almost every second with Paul as they grew closer. Eventually Tanaka had his first battle, and Paul won against the local bully. When the angry boy approached Tanaka, Paul evolved into a Poliwhirl and stepped in from of his trainer, which discouraged the assaulter. Years went by and you would never see the two apart. Then one day, Tanaka went out into the wilderness to catch a second pokemon. He found a Snorlax sleeping deep in a grotto far into the coast. He snuck up to it, and tapped it with a pokeball while it was sleeping. It had no idea it was captured till it heard the all important ding. Tanaka named the Snorlax Norris. He trained with his two companions for a long time. Then he heard about the meteorite in Sinnoh. He bought a ticket to the S.S Anne and began his journey there.
