    Rules:
    • Have respect for the other players and characters - no controlling their characters without permission.
    • Remember to make your character balanced - no mary sues in here.
    • Pokémon may use any move that they would normally learn through level up. No TM, breeding or tutor moves allowed.
    • When a pokémon is completely defeated in battle it will die. To make this more T friendly you can imagine it as them being erased/turning to dust. It is still possible to faint or black-out without disappearing.
    • Humans may fight as well as Pokémon, however they would not be able to defeat an enemy pokémon on their own.
    • The minimum post-allowance is two, detailed paragraphs or a significant portion of speech. If you wish to talk to another character line-by-line work it out in PM/VMs.

    CHAPTER 1: Rohto's finest.​

    The mad king's rule has extended out across the land, the shadows of his army stretching across the mountains and in to the outskirts of towns and cities. The four kingdoms of Rohto have chosen their strongest, most capable, warriors to fight back the terrors of the corrupted pokémon and take the throne from under Lord Katashi.

    But, alone, the warriors will not be able to penetrate in to the darkness. They must band together, and unite the kingdoms, in order to free themselves from the mad king's power.

    Attached to the fasted pidgeys in the land, a message was spread across the four kingdoms, its source unknown. The letter was read by all royals, and their most trusted of knights, as well as the powerful mercenaries who wished the mad king dead.


    What is four must become one. The chosen must step-up and fulfil their duties, slay the king that sits upon the throne of Rohto and take back the land. Protect yourselves, your kingdom, and all citzens of the nation.

    People of the Forest. You must set up a safehaven closer to the mountains, extend your shelter to the incoming nomads of the Skies. [Estimated location - Viridian City]

    People of the Dragon, of the Great Sea, you must convene at a nearby village. Make acquaintance with your brothers and prepare for the upcoming attack. [Estimated Location - Cherrygrove Village)]

    Make haste, for every minute that is lost is a minute closer to our failure.

    Tasks:
    • You must travel to your destination, either alone or with others.
    • You may battle wild pokémon on the way, but none of Lord Katashi's pokémon will ambush you.
    • On arrival to your destination you should interact with others, this may involve (light) battling.
    • This event will last until Saturday 15th June.
    • You may use the 'official' routes to these locations, or carve your own. Remember the 'estimate' locations are not as they would be in the games - Viridian City is more of a camp and cherrygrove is an old, small, rural village.

    Sakura stretched as she opened her eyes looking up at the pale pink canopy that was over her bed. Looking to her left she saw Fia curled up next to her on the bed and she reached out scratching behind the Leafeon's ears. "Good morning Fia" she murmured softly waking the Leafeon just as her bedroom door opened.

    "Good morning Princess" a kind and cheerful voice chimed and Sakura turned her gaze to see Talia the maid that was assigned to care for her.

    "Good morning Talia" Sakura smiled slightly as she sat up slowly and carefully.

    "How are you feeling this morning Princess?" Talia asked as the young maid checked her temperature.

    "I'm feeling fine Talia. Still a little weak, I'm just glad to be no longer ill" she smiled getting out of bed carefully. "is my father still angry with me?" she asked going to her vanity and brushing her long curly raven black hair.

    "It's not my place to say Princess. Your father does request you be down in ten minutes for breakfast, while you eat I will pack you a bag for your journey"

    "Thank you Talia" Sakura stood again as the maid left the room. Picking up a crown of sakura blossoms she turned to Fia and placed the crown on her Pokemon's head. "Best not to keep father waiting" she smiled sadly. Changing from her nightgown to her normal dress, she slipped on her white shoes and placed her own sakura blossom in her hair by her left ear and grabbed her cane. "Come along Fia" she walked out of her room and towards the dining room spotting her mother and father sitting at the table already.

    "Good morning Darling" her mother cooed as Sakura took her seat, she noticed her father just frowned at her.

    "Good morning Mother, Father" Sakura smiled at both her parents before starting on her breakfast.

    "I don't want you going Sakura" her father frowned at her and Sakura sighed. They hadn't been on good terms since she had gotten her aunts permission to help in the fight against Lord Katashi.

    Here we go again she thought putting her fork down. "Father, with all due respect...I have aunties permission. She wants me to help, I want to help." she sighed. "I'm 18 years old father, 18 years old and I've never even been outside. I'm an adult now father, and I will do what I can to help our kingdom. It is my duty" she stood from the table grabbing her cane again.

    "Where do you think your going" her father crossed his arms. "Sit down and finish eating"

    "I've lost my appetite" Sakura sighed again and swiftly walked out of the dining room using her cane to help her slightly as Fia followed her. Walking through the halls to her special spot, a window seat in a room that wasn't really used anymore she took a seat and stared outside. I wonder what it's like out there she thought crossing her arms and petting Fia. "Father just doesn't understand Fia"

    Mattis Redburn


    The campfire crackled under the dark, black sky. Mattis had been lying against a broad oak tree for most of the night, trying to catch what shut eye he could. Despite Hex having her own eyes shut, he knew she was alert as well - her ears twitched with every rustle of leaves and gust of wind. The fire was doing well to keep the wild monsters at bay for now. But, come dawn, the bug pokémon would awaken and force the lone pair to move on with their journey.

    Something caught the hearing of his dog-like pokémon, the ninetails springing to its feet and letting out a low snarl at a nearby bush.

    "It's just a Pidgey, settle," Mattis commanded, his voice barely a whisper. Hex backed down, looking reasonably apologetic.

    The pair had been on edge since their run from the mountains, the pursuing hounds of the King close on their heels for most of the journey. Luckily, due to Hex's keen instincts, they managed to get a good head start on the chase. Now they just had to survive the night.

    Sure enough a small pidgey flew out of the bush, putting their nerves at ease for a while. The Sun was due up soon though, the chase would resume. Mattis was certain they could lose the keen houndooms, once they breached the forest and made it in to a village they would be safe for a while. He rested his hand on Hex's head, for now they just needed to rest.

    Ser Rodrick Mason

    Ser Rodrick stood outside Queen Erika's door, sword in hand. He had been standing there the entire night. Serve. Obey. Protect. He recited his oath in his head. It had become his way of life, his breath, his purpose. He was bound to Queen Erika. He would die to defend her if need be. He didn't know how he felt about the Queen. He knew that he was as far below her as a servant can be, seeing as his parents were lowly farmers, but he felt as if he loved her though. It was forbidden. Damn my feelings. He yawned and awaited for the Queen's awakening.

    Queen Erika awoke several hours later and called for her handmaids. Rodrick let them in, and returned to his vigil. Another hour later, the Queen and her handmaids emerged. "With me, Ser Rodrick." Her soft, sweet voice chimed. Rodrick nodded and followed behind her with his sword now in its sheath. "I slept peacefully. Thank you, my dear servant."

    "It is no problem at all, Your Grace." Rodrick bowed his head in respect. "I'm glad to be of service." His voice was thick with reverence.

    "Ser Rodrick, you are too humble." She sighed and turned to face him. "You are one of my most trusted servants, if not THE most trusted. You do not have to talk to me like that. You are my friend." She sighed yet again, and turned to keep walking.

    Rodrick nearly blushed. The Queen was too kind. "Yes, Your Grace."

    They arrived in the dining room in time to see the Princess Sakura storm out of the room. The Queen looked at her father crossly. "You are too hard on her. You have to let her go on that mission." The queen knew about the mission to defeat the mad king.

    "She's just a child!"

    "You WILL let her go. That's an order."

    "Bu-"

    "Silence. You will let her go."

    He sighed. "Fine. Give her a guard."

    Queen Erika nodded. She then looked to Rodrick, and his stomach sank. "You will go with her, Ser Rodrick."

    Rodrick looked at the ground, but then looked up again. "As Your Majesty commands."
     
    Sakura frowned as she looked out the window startled from her thoughts by her handmaidens voice. "I knew you'd be here" looking towards the approaching footsteps she spotted Talia and wiped away the tears she hadn't known were falling. "Is everything okay Princess?"

    "Father...just doesn't understand" Sakura sighed as the red haired maid handed her a pink shoulder bag.

    "Your father just worries Princess" Talia smiled slightly. "That bag holds all you will need for your journey."

    "Thank you Talia, that will be all." Sakura looked back out the window as Talia left the room. Several minutes later after she was sure Talia had left she looked at Fia. "I never thought of doing this before...but I have to now, it might take Father and the others a bit to find out I left, after all only Talia knows I come in here" she opened up the window glad this room was on the first floor. Slipping out the window followed by Fia she made sure to shut it behind her.

    Taking a breath of the outside air for the first time Sakura smiled as she felt the suns rays hit her skin. "Let's go" was all she said as she walked away from her home taking care not to be seen by any of the guards she giggled after a few minutes. "I can't believe we never did this when we were younger"
     
    The early morning sun shone brightly over a thick forest, awakening the inhabitants to go about their days. The southern-most quadrant was even more active than the rest as the sound of multiple footsteps and carriages traveling through thick grass and detached leaves echoed throughout. The noise began to approach a crossroad of sorts which connected the dense body of trees to the beginning of the Mt. Silver path to the west and the ocean to the south.

    A clearing in the woods showcased this intersection. From a bird's eye view it looked as though a small banding of green blotches emerged from the Forest as if the trees themselves were gaining ground. The reality of the situation was less fantastic as many men garbed in green hooded cloaks crossed the tree's borders and into the small plain. These men were a forward advance team of the Guardians of the Forest tasked with setting up a small camp for a meeting between their Queen and a delegation of the Sky Kingdom.

    Ser Guirmean Bevan led the small taskforce which consisted of two dozen men of various stature, any Pokémon the group's members had connections to, four wagons filled with building tools and materials to set up various camp necessities, and one wagon solely dedicated to hauling two lavish royal tents for both kingdom's majesties. Dearc, his faithful Scyther battle partner, slept sitting next to him on the lead carriage with his blades crossed and eyes opened. To those unaccustomed to the Pokémon's sleeping habits, it looked as though he was wide awake, but the faint snoring sound given off was heard by its human companion. Had the large bug not been on watch duty the night before Guirmean would have berated the scarred mantis but today he earned his rest.

    Now out in the open, Guirmean signaled for the convoy to stop. He looked about to survey the area. While the area was not as densely populated with trees as his people were accustomed to living in, there were still plenty of trees about yet many of their canopies never touched. The area seemed appropriate to accommodate the needs of both factions; it provided some of the natural cover the people of the Forest Kingdom were familiar with while likewise having a large enough of a clearing for the people of the Sky Kingdom to recognize and land. "Alright, this is the spot. You all know your tasks; we need to get this forward base up before noon." commanded Ser Bevan.
     
    Ser Rodrick Mason

    Rodrick hurried to pack his gear into his satchel. He had one spare set of clothes, whet stones for his sword, oil for keeping his armor in shape, a flint stone, a hunting knife, and his leather helm outlined in light metal. He strapped his quiver of arrows to his thigh, holding twenty in total, slung the massive recurve bow across his back, as well as his buckler shield, and strapped his sword sheath around his waist. The queen had asked him to accompany Princess Sakura on a mission. Who was he to deny the queen? He had no choice but reply, "Yes, your majesty." He looked at himself in the small mirror that adorned the wall of his small, but cozy room. He looked rather...heroic in his light armor, and his weapons on him. I will protect the princess with my life. He looked around his room for maybe the last time. Serve. Obey. Protect. He recited his motto one more time in his head.

    The sun was shining as he exited his room. Outside of his door was his faithful companion, Khan. The Toxicroak approached him and saluted. "Tox. Toxicroak." Rodrick smiled and saluted back. "It's good to see you too, old friend." The pair clasped hands and shook, the warrior's hand shake. "We're going to escort the Princess Sakura on a very important mission." The warrior-pokemon nodded and raised his fists in understanding. The sunlight got on his gauntlets and cast light in various directions. This was going to be a journey to remember.

    Rodrick anad Khan exited the castle to find the sun shining brightly....and the princess wondering out. Ser Rodrick knew that she was very...sickly. He had to follow her as closely as possible. He quickened his pace until he caught up with the princess, then matched her pace. "My lady, I've been chosen by Her Majesty to accompany you on this mission." He bowed gracefully. "Ser Rodrick Mason, at your service."
     
    Rosemary Redmond

    All was still as the black sky slowly became paler from the rising sun's rays. Rosemary quietly trekked through the thick trees, intently focused on a large man who had before been traveling with a group but was now moving solo. His death was imminent, though Rosemary didn't feel it was a good time just yet to shoot him. From what she could hear, there were still people close by and she didn't want to alert them with The Target's confused shrieks. She continued to stalk him through the woods. When The Target walked, Rosemary walked. When he stopped, she stopped. Arma, Rosemary's very large Flygon and partner in crime, had flown ahead of them in case The Target discovered the situation he was in and tried to make a run for it.

    The man who had hired Rosemary to kill this guy said he was a giant coward and would not try to fight back. He'd be an easy one. The Target, now tired out from the hours and hours of walking, sat on a medium sized boulder and took his shoes off. He ruffled his hair and contemplated the woods ahead of him. Rosemary squat down to match his level and aimed her crossbow at his head, her arms steady.

    The Target unexpectedly turned around and faced Rosemary right as she released the arrow. As a result, it skewered him right in the face. He screamed shrill cries of pain as the warm blood flowed down his cheek. Rosemary shot another arrow, this time through the side of his head. The man dropped on the ground, his mouth opening and closing in desperate gasps for air. Rosemary stood up straight and walked over to the body, observing what she'd done. "Poor sucker," she said with a smile that contradicted what she'd said.

    "I didn't mean to **** up your face, but then again you shouldn't have moved because that tends to piss me off." She kicked the body in the stomach, then turned around. "Oh, there you are, Arma. He's done," Rosemary said to the Flygon who had heard the screams and promptly returned to her human master. Rosemary had been able to convince her client to pay her beforehand, and he wasn't too picky with what would happen to the body afterward. This worked out perfectly for Rosemary, as she'd been invited to join forces with the other kingdoms in order to take care of more important business, which didn't allow for much dawdling.

    This evil "king" needed to be defeated and as many people as possible were needed to work together to bring him down. Rosemary would have highly preferred to continue working with only Arma as she had been doing practically her whole life, but this king was no joke, so a larger group had a higher chance for success. Rosemary had only just passed Ecruteak and had a little ways to go. She didn't mind this, in fact, she was glad it would take a while to get there. She didn't like people very much, though she was great at pretending she did, if she did say so herself. "Hold on, Arma," Rosemary said as Arma started to move forward. The dragon turned and looked at her master patiently. Rosemary sat on the man and pulled out a mirror from her pocket, looking into it and combing her cropped blond hair with her fingers.

    The man started to gasp again, for he hadn't quite passed yet. "Would you stop moving? I'm making sure my hair is pretty," Rosemary said, flustered. She moved her foot and stomped on The Target's fingers with the heel of her boot. His attempts to scream failed, for all he did was open and close his mouth but no sound escaped it. "Alright," Rosemary said, taking a last look at her reflection before putting the mirror away. "Your... your face annoys the **** out of me." She removed her dagger from its sheath and stabbed The Target in the throat, ending his suffering once and for all. "For a coward, he was sure rude. Doesn't he see that my hair needs to look fabulous?" Rosemary stood up. "Okay, let's go and find the group so we can defeat that king. His name is..." She realized she couldn't remember it. "What the **** was his name?" she said, laughing. Arma laughed along and slowly advanced as Rosemary followed.
     
    Sin Rascalwolf || The Great Sea
    Chapter 1: The Blue Duke

    It was mid-morning, when Sin decided to leave Princess Misty and her bunch of lowly followers who surprisingly calls themselves nobles of the Great Sea. What Sin could not fathom was how Misty lets these kinds of people interfere with the affairs of the kingdom. It was not the first time that Sin was invited to a meeting, no, but it was the first time Sin encountered the thoughts of these locals. I am an outsider, and had possessed of even a lower noble post, but I could make better decisions than these people. Sin shook his head as he maneuvered his way between the people of the kingdom. The meeting he left is an important one, concerning the shipments of trade between the other kingdoms not under Lord Katashi's command. Being a native of these other lands, and duke over them nonetheless, Sin was invited by Misty to be present in the meeting. Though he held back in asserting any of his thoughts, he always give his two cents in leading matters.

    The problem with that is some people think of him as an outsider.

    During the meeting, Sin stepped up when he realized that the nobles are getting out of control in their suggestions. Sin, as usual, told them his idea. One noble, however, thought of what he did was intruding into matters he is not part of, clearly unhappy that Sin made the better suggestion. Misty tried to reprimand the noble but the damage was done.

    Sin is indeed the outsider. A duke, yes, but an outsider.

    Ersclud Sephur​

    The sun was already up. It seemed very hot outside. The whole kingdom was already busy. That's what Ersclud saw by the time he woke up. From what he saw, it was easy to tell that it was already noon. He knew that he had work to do, but his body won't move away from the bed. It seems that it wanted to sleep for the whole day. He tried to move his body, but even though how much he tried, it won't budge. He gave up, and his eyes slowly and gently closed.

    "Poli-TOED!" That very loud noise woke all of his systems up.

    "Dio, that hurt my ears." He said to his Politoed while stretching.

    "Oh right! I've got work to do, and I'm already very late!" He said to himself while watching the outside through the window. There was a very big clock, a clock tower perhaps, where he can see the time from the window he was watching through. It shows that it was already 1 PM. He immediately ran towards the room where the princess is.

    "I apologize, your Gracious Majesty, for not doing my job right." He said while bowing to Princess Misty.

    "Its okay. Stand up now, my servant" said Princess Misty.

    Ersclud felt that the princess is acting quite strange. He remained silent though since he was just a lowly messenger. His job is to travel and send messages from kingdom to kingdom. That only and nothing more. Because of everything that's running around his mind that time, he did not notice the deep silence in the room. No one spoke for a minute, and there was a cold breeze blowing from the outside. There was total silence, until the princess finally spoke.

    "Servant, please come back here after you have already prepared your things. By that time, I shall tell you your task."

    "Yes, your Gracious Majesty"

    Ersclud immediately left the the princess. He was still wondering why the princess acted really odd. It seemed really like the time when the princess hired him to be a messenger. The princess seemed to be unsure about a desicion she had to make. This things were running around his head while he was heading back to his room.

    He thought that the princess might be in need of help, and he decided to help her with all that he can.
     
    Securing the inn.​

    Mattis Redburn


    "Careful now," Mattis whispered to the distant Hex. Her pace slowed, able to hear him even above the wind, thanks to her sharp hearing. A group of Lord Katashi's sneasels, quick, sneaky assassins, had been following the pair most of the morning. As they had come across a large clearing, however, Mattis came up with a plan to ambush them.

    Mattis whistled sharply, the sneasel's hissed and turned their heads in his, hidden, position. Hex took the cue, springing out from the long grass and launching a powerful flamethrower attack at the unsuspecting ice pokémon. Their forms danced behind the fire before disappearing all-together, scattered to the forest air.

    "We're almost there now, Hex. Hopefully that's the last of them," His ninetails nodded in agreement, she'd done her fair share of hunting over the night. Sure enough, just between the last layers of trees, he could spot the small village. Nestled between forest, fields and hills; it was the perfect rural retreat.

    "You want how many?" The inn-keeper said in shock, his voice full of confusion "we only have room for 4, this whole village is only a few dozen!"

    "I'll take your inn, your house, your barns," Mattis remarked, picking through his coin purse, "We only need them for a night, then you'll be free of us." His voice was harsh, but he did not lie - his terms were fair and true.

    He put the entire bag in the dazed inn-keeper's hand, "You can have the lot if I can use your pidgeys too," Mattis said confidently, pointing up at the pigeon loft.

    "Er, I-..." the old man stumbled over his words, not sure he could disagree with a man dressed in luxurious armour, "O-Ok?"

    With a sly smirk, Mattis patted the man on the shoulder. Turning quickly away and pacing in to the inn. "We've got a lot to do, Hex," he murmured as the pair scouted out their living quarters, "some of our guests are used to luxury, after all."

    "My lady, I've been chosen by Her Majesty to accompany you on this mission." a voice brought her from her thoughts and she spotted a tall man that she recognized as her Aunts main guard. "Ser Rodrick Mason, at your service."

    "I know who you are Rodrick" Sakura smiled at the man. "After all, I've known you all my life" she glanced around curiously as she spoke taking in the things she had never seen before, and thought she never would. "no need to be so formal Rodrick" she added as Fia walked close to Rodrick's Toxicroak. She looked up at the sky closing her eyes for a moment before opening them as they walked. At this point she only needed minimal assistance from her cane. Though she wasn't doubting the fact it'd get harder for her later on in this journey.

    "I believe Auntie mentioned that Ser Guirmean Bevan was sent ahead to set up the camp" she said softly. "The people from the Kingdom of the Skies should meet us there...though Auntie mentioned a fourth from our kingdom was going as well but never mentioned who, do you know Rodrick?"
     
    chapter one: HAZEL // Kingdom of the Skies.1

    Dawn was approaching. The sun slowly climbed in the sky, colouring it in the bright hues of the morning. The mountains' dark colours contrasted heavily as they were yet untouched by the sun's rays, due to the latter being hidden behind the eastern mountain range. The increasing daylight alone was enough to wake up the various bird Pokémon living in the area, and as they were many, the hustle and bustle of daily life in Lavender would soon start as well.

    Outside town, near Rock Tunnel, a small purple Pokémon with diamond eyes and the broadest smile came crawling out of a high-up mountain cave. It was carrying a black leather bag on its back, filled with metals and gemstones. It reached in with its claw to grab one to eat as a quick breakfast. It'd already opened its mouth, but…
    ''TRUMP! No eating our merchandise! We could fetch a pretty penny for that!''
    The small Pokémon's smile turned to a frown for a second upon being busted, but then he put the gem back in his bag and swiftly went down the hill to the path down below on all fours, grinning once again. Right as he did, a red-haired beauty clad in brown exited the cave after him. She was carrying a bag over her shoulder as well, a bigger one than her grinning companion, though it wasn't filled to the brim. In her other hand she held a very worn hammer and chisel between her fingers.

    ''WAIT! Ugh.'' She put her tools back in the bag, and chased after her Pokémon, climbing down the rocky path, as far as there was one. The Sableye sat down and watched her make her way down, but as he did, slowly the bag he put down next to him was starting to look more alluring again as well. He could just open it up, take one tiny crystal out—
    When Trump looked up to see how long he had until his master caught up to him, he was unpleasantly surprised to find her standing right in front of him, staring down angrily. Sableye promptly closed the bag and stood back up. He grinned at her, then took off running towards the Capital again, occasionally looking back to see if she was keeping up properly, but she wasn't running. His master just walked after him, following him with the eyes she was named for.
     
    Ser Imito Atarashi

    Imito finished buckling the saddle onto Kouryu. He tugged on the straps, making sure the were secure before he mounted. He had forgotten to do that once, and had ended up sprawled on the ground with his arm broken. Since then, he had been especially careful. He patted Kouryu's shoulder. "Alright," he said. "Let's get going!" Kouryu grumbled deep in his throat in response. Rather than being any kind of threat, this growl was Kouryu's noise of assent.

    Imito mounted, swinging his leg over Koryu's body with an ease brought on by lots of practice. Kouryu flapped once, twice, and then they were airborne. They soared south, in the direction of the village they were supposed to meet at. There noise disturbed a wild Skarmory that had been nesting below. When it flew up to engage Kouryu, he just gave a growl and bared his teeth. The Skarmory, sensing that perhaps this was a bit more than she could chew, flew back down to her nest below. " I'm so glad we could travel this way," he told Kouryu. "It's so much faster than hiking down the mountain."
     
    Ser Rodrick Mason

    Rodrick noticed that the princess was walking rather for a women who was constantly ill. "Aye, princess. You heard right." He nodded and gave a proud smile. "He's one of my finest men." Guirmean was a good man, neither too rash nor to cautious. "I would trust that man with my life." He looked at the princess and gave a thumbs-up. "Between the two of use, nothing could hurt you. You can have my word on that." He rubbed the back of his head with his gauntleted hand. "The fourth man will be none other than your apothecary, Haru." Haru was a baby-ish man, very young, but very capable. "He will be accompanying us on this quest of ours." Rodrick loved calling it a quest. It meant a chance for glory, a chance for battle, and a chance for love. Rodrick had every intention of gaining the Queen's favor when he returned. He had to protect the princess however he could, even if it meant his own life. That was the only way to win her hand.

    Rodrick gave a hearty laugh as he watched the various pokemon running back and forth throughout the woods. Ser Rodrick, though seeming a hard man, was very kindly. "My lady, I am assuming that this is your first time out of the castle." He looked upon her like a father. "It's a very strange and wonderful place, but you must be careful. Not everything will be safe and friendly, as it appears." He took a more serious expression, although not too serious. "Khan and I will do our best to protect you." He gave the Forest Kingdom's salute. (When one crosses a clenched fist across one's heart) Khan did the same, and gave a bow. The Toxicroak was much like his partner. It would take Hell to bring them down before the princess.
     
    Chapter 1: Haru Takenochi

    Haru Takenochi was probably the only person up in the Forest Kingdom once the sun rose above the horizon. Many would be asleep now, and truthfully, Haru would too. However, he needed to make a few vials of medicine he didn't have time for the day before, due to orders from other customers and packing for the journey he was supposed to be embarking on today.

    Shelves surrounded Haru inside his apothecary. These shelves were filled with vials containing medicine, packets filled with powder, and jars containing preserved herbs. In front of him was a bubbling cauldron surrounded by little dishes that held medicinal plants. Haru's eyes carefully glanced at the orange concoction that was brewing inside and after a certain amount of time had elapsed he would either stir or add another medicinal plant. It seemed like an hour had passed before Haru picked up an empty vial and began to fill it with the orange concoction that was inside. He then picked up a metal rod and gave the concoction one final stir before closing it and then he repeated this process until he had nine vials full.

    "Making medicine I see," A kind, elderly voice called from behind.

    Haru turned around to see his grandfather standing over his shoulder, staring down at the cauldron he was brewing medicine in, "Yes. I didn't have the time to do it yesterday, so I had to do it today."

    His grandfather studied the brew closely before speaking, "That medicine you just brewed, it's for that Scyther isn't it?"

    "Yes."

    "I heard Ser Bevan is also going to be in the party as well," The former apothecary spoke, "you are packing that for your journey aren't you?"

    Haru nodded, "I am. I thought he would like it. The calcium tonic, takes a few hours to brew and I thought that instead of making him wait, I could make some for the journey. Of course, it won't last the whole journey, but it would cut the waiting time at least."

    His grandfather smiled at his grandson's thoughtfulness before speaking again, "You better clean this up. You need to embark on your journey today correct?"

    "Yeah, I'll go do that."

    Haru stood up and stretched before he began to clean up the mess he made. He placed the left over herbs into tiny jars and put them on the shelves, and then placed the tiny dishes in the sink. When he was going to get the cauldron he felt a pair of arms wrap around him in an embrace.

    "Don't die on me," The voice of his grandfather whispered, "I lost my son. I don't think I can stand to lose my grandson, so please, come home safely. I don't think I can stand having to pick out your casket."

    "I won't."

    And after that it was silent.
     
    chapter one: HAZEL // Kingdom of the Skies.2

    Sableye went inside the workshop first and put his bag down on the sturdy wooden table in the back. Hazel followed right behind him, set her bag next to the other one. She then looked into the smaller bag – as it contained the metal and less valuable gemstones, in case Trump ever did sneak a snack – and looked around for one it would be okay to lose. She then threw it into her avid Pokémon's claws. It immediately crunched off a bit with its teeth. The sound always irked Hazel.
    ''That's for you. So don't eat anything else.''

    As it was still so early, the owner of the smithy wasn't in yet. Hazel figured she'd make a start on sorting the gathered materials, but when she wanted to get started, something distracted her. The letter brought in by Pidgey a few days ago was lying on an anvil. She picked it up and looked at it once again.
    「Rally. Engage. Defeat.」
    Hazel knew what the note meant. Her master had been called to serve. He was the best blacksmith in the kingdom, and in his day he had been known for his brutal prowess with a war hammer. But now he was in his fifties. His sharp mind and quick reflexes had dulled, Hazel could tell, and it'd take more than a little sharpening to straighten that out, she thought.
    His time had passed.
    The blacksmith's apprentice – though she disliked to be called a mere 'apprentice' – stuffed the note in her pocket. It was madness for him to go to battle. Even SHE could do a better job than him… Hopefully. Because that's what she decided to do.

    She quickly sorted the usable materials for forging, but put the unsorted gems into a large wooden chest, where the owner would know to look. Moving on to the tool wall, she replaced some of her tools that were excessively worn with newer ones. She grabbed her bag, put her dark brown cloak in it, some whetstones and a flint, and some food she'd brought from home. Finally, she nodded to Trump that it was time to leave. The pair swiftly and quietly escaped the forge, and eventually the city walls.
     
    Act 1, Scene 1: Market Day
    Sirilia Eduine Halia - Kingdom of the Skies

    Today was the day when Lavender Town would be busy. Today was the day of no training. Today was the day where the people of Lavender Town would scam people into buying their faulty products (though this was rarely the case). Today was market day.The cries of Skarr indicated it was this day, as Sirilia could recognise the different cries of her partner who would often indicate what day it was.
    Sirilia found herself being nudged by her partner in her partner's home. She laughed, despite the painful posture she was slumped in against the walls of the stable.
    "Shall we go for a fly to Lavender Town as it is the dreaded day of market day?" Sirilia suggested and was replied with a nod from her friend.
    She mounted Skarr without a saddle. Sirilia did not need a saddle and she felt that it would be better for herself and her partner if they did not use a saddle as it was uncomfortable for both of them. Skarr walked out of the stable and he lifted off, the cold wind brushing against both of their faces. Sirilia laughed. She missed the days of aerial battles and the days of doing aerial tricks with Skarr. Perhaps it was not too late to return to the habits of old. A shiver went crawling down Sirilia's back as she remembered the fateful reason why she had retired in the first place.
    "Never again," Sirilia said as they landed a kilometre away from Lavender Town down below Sirilia could see a Sableye and a woman mining on the Rock Tunnel as she dismounted Skarr.
    "Hopefully this does not attract attention," She tied Skarr to a rock as she walked the kilometre to Lavender Town.
    As it was market day, Lavender Town was bustling with people. This was good for Sirilia, because she hated the attention of formerly being the Sutelen and being a warrior of the highest honour. Sirlia pushed her way through the crowd, and to the grocers.
     
    ♚ CYRUS DROGANNI
    blackthorn city - royal palace

    The morning light fluttered around the room as the sheath white drapes danced in the warm breeze. It was a ridiculously large bedroom chamber, fit with a grand gold and red mattress where the single inhabitant sat, his red mane a mess of snags and snarls. Cyrus had awoke with the dawn, but a reluctance stayed his feet when he made to get ready for the day's events. It was neither the duties he had to tend to nor the meeting with his father that stopped him. Rather, it was the object he fiddled with in his hand.

    Pale fingers traced the intricate design of the pendant that hung around his neck by a golden chain. It looked quite weighted, but in his grasp it felt as light as a feather. Its black markings were as dark as the night where as the gold plates shone like the sun on a midsummer's day. The pattern twisted around itself like a game of cat and mouse, one pointed arrow chasing the other in a never ending cycle. His green eyes followed its movements as he delicately twisted it clockwise. As his gaze stayed fixed, his thoughts wandered to a time long passed.

    "Little Dragon," called a soft feminine voice, "where have you flown to this time?"

    A giggle sounded from a tall hedge in the garden where a young boy, no more than ten years age, hid. Not a very good place to conceal himself from his mother, but a place nonetheless. Hearing the laughter, the woman smiled and began to stalk the backside of the vegetation to come up behind the boy. With a quick pounce she trapped him in her arms and began the horrid torture of tickling. He screamed in delight and attempted to wiggle free of the arms, but he had no luck in succeeding.

    Coming to a breathless halt, Queen Eliza bent down to his ear. "How many is that now?"

    "Three to one," the young prince said, counting each round on his fingers. "Can we play again? I know a really good hiding place this time."

    "I am afraid we can't, Little Dragon. I have some important business to attend to."

    Cyrus gave a huff of disapproval. "You always have important things to do. I wish you had more time to spend with me."

    Eliza sighed and pulled her son closer to her bodice. She began to stroke his hair with a loving touch, and gently kissed the top of his head. It was true, as the Queen of the kingdom she had plenty of duties of her own to keep her busy. The rare free time she found was spent with the young prince, and she cherished every moment of it.

    "I have something for you. It's a gift."

    The Queen pulled her necklace over her head and placed it in his hands. It was a pendant of gold and black. "It came from my mother, and her father before her. She told me that it is a symbol of our ancestors. It means 'the love of those who have departed'. I want you to keep it, and hold onto it as close to your heart as you dare. Because even when I am gone, when you can touch me and see me no longer, I will always be with you."

    She placed it around his neck and gave him another kiss. Cyrus clutched the necklace tightly, "Thank you, mother. I promise I will keep it safe."

    "Prince Cyrus?"

    The voice jolted him from his memories. He released the pendant and stood at his bedside. A servant, one he has come to know and love as Henry, entered through the solid oak door with his head bowed to the ground. He was younger than Cyrus, and surprisingly smaller in both his figure and height. He was the son of one of the maids and was given a working position within the palace when he was old enough. Cyrus always liked the boy, as his presence had almost a calming effect.

    "I am sorry, I did not mean to disturb you Your Highness."

    Cyrus waved him off lightly, "No need to apologize, Henry. It was nothing important. Did you need something?"

    The servant nodded and walked towards the closet. He pulled out the normal attire and and returned to the prince. "Your father has called upon you, and asked me to help you ready." Henry unfolded the clothes so that they were in full view for the prince. "Are these suitable?"

    It didn't take long for the prince to make his way to the council chambers where the king held important meetings. The walk there was anything but tranquil, as servants bustled about and the guards appeared to be on edge about an unknown threat. He wondered what could have happened to make everyone act like so in one night. Stopping before the doors, Cyrus knocked loudly on its face to announce his presence. He heard conversation within the room stop at the disturbance and a great deal of shuffling before the ever familiar voice of his father rang out.

    "Enter."

    Cyrus adjusted his cloak and brushed off his pant legs before pushing open the doors. Inside his father, an older man with graying hair and rough features, sat at the head of a long wooden table scattered with maps and documents. Gathered around the various seats were his advisers, important Dragon Kingdom nobles, and the heads of the royal guard. Cyrus was intrigued to find Queen Claire sitting to the king's left. She didn't often attend these meetings.

    "Cyrus," King Lance said, "please take a seat. There is something important we must discuss with you."

    Without hesitation, the prince made his way across the room, aware of the eyes that followed him closely, and took his seat to the right of his father. In front of him on the table was an envelope, and a rather annoyed looking pidgey. Reaching for the envelope, Cyrus began to read the letter carefully. With each new word he felt a sense of apprehension. The same kind that seemed to plague the walls of the palace. When it ended he looked up into the calm hazel eyes of his father.

    "Is this for certain? Are the kingdoms really going to band together to defeat the Mad King?"

    The king's adviser, Dorian, cleared his throat. "From what my scouts have said, it appears so."

    "Then who is to go? Certainly those chosen of our kingdom need someone to lead them."

    The room was silent. No one quite had an answer to that question, or they would rather not suggest whom they had in mind. It was Queen Claire who broke the silence. "I think it should be you, Prince Cyrus."

    The words had a greater impact on the room than they did the prince himself. Immediately protests across the table were spoken against her. She held her head high as she gazed into Cyrus' questioning eyes. She had another motive for him going. She always had another motive. He just couldn't figure out what.

    It was the king's raised hand that silence the outbreak of voices. "I too think that it should be my son. He is strong, well trained, and he has Aurora at his side. He has been tutored thoroughly in strategies and battle tactics, and I believe that he will prove to be an important part in the Mad King's undoing. But he shall not go alone. Rowan, his personal Protector, shall accompany him on this journey."

    Turning to a guard standing watch at the door, the king said, "Send for him please."

    As the guard rushed out of the door, Cyrus couldn't help but feel that apprehension building, and a burrowing doubt of the trust his father just put in him.

    Sakura chuckled at the proud smile on Rodrick's face at her mention of Ser Guirmean. He assured her that between the two of them no harm would be done to her. It pleased her thought that the fourth that would be joining them was none other than Haru. His grandfather was always kind to me when they were at the castle. If it wasn't for him, I would have died many times when I was younger. Plus with Haru with us I should have nothing to fear if I fall ill again she thought tuning back into Rodrick's words as he looked upon her like a father would and told her that though the world was a strange and wonderful place not all was safe and friendly.

    "I will do my best to keep that in mind Rodrick" she smiled. "I hope you do not mind if we have to rest at some point soon. I tire easily as you were probably told by either Auntie or my father." Looking ahead she saw that Fia had run ahead of them. "Come back here Fia" she called out giggling as the oddly colored Leafeon turned back to her. Though her pokemon's progress was halted When seven yellow and black Pokemon that had stingers sprang from the trees flying around Fia. "R-Rodrick...what are those?" she asked as she spotted the leaves on Fia's head and tail glowing a greenish blue forming blades and Fia slashed at one of the bug Pokemon.
