The Gijinka Project
Story
The world seems to be getting darker these days. Tensions are rising between the nations of the world; old grudges aired once more as tired, angry people look for enemies to take their frustration out on. Other humans aren't all there are to contend with either, the wilds are growing more dangerous, and restless. Wild pokemon are becoming more aggressive, more deadly as they probe at human settlements and among those who know it, whispers spread of legends; of powerful, ancient pokemon waking from their long slumbers and raising armies of their kin against the humans that have taken their land.
Unable to come together against the danger, the nations of the world scramble to find some solution, some way to survive. Some focus on building up their strength while others turn to research and discovery in the hopes of finding a game-changer; some miracle that would increase their strength and give them a way to stand against their enemies. With all eyes on the nations and their efforts, there are few to notice and even fewer to care when a few of the more unfortunate souls in the world go missing.
The Gijinka Project is Kanto's attempt to weather the storm to come; an attempt to combine human and pokemon, to pick and choose the best qualities of each to create a new type of soldier. Such an ambitious undertaking requires sacrifices though, it requires test subjects; and if a few people disappearing quietly into the night is the price for their survival, then the Kantoese government's eyes are firmly fixed the other way.
However, at a time when entire nations are moving in unison, one man can still make a difference. All it takes is a single moment of regret, for one man to press one button, and the world can be changed.

You
You are a Generation Zero Gijinka; one of the project's proof of concept prototypes. Changing the human body in such a dramatic way is a tricky process and while you were one of many taken against their will by agents of the project, you are also one of very few to actually survive the process.
You were being held against your will with several other Generation Zero subjects in suspended animation, locked deep in a building in some unknown part of the Kanto region; soon to be shown to government officials as proof that the project had succeeded. Something happened though, that the project didn't expect.
On the eve of the government inspection someone gained access to the computer systems of the lab, disrupting security and causing havoc across the expansive facility. Under the cover of explosions and rampaging pokemon, this individual succeeds in their main task and sets you free.
Dazed you stumble from the tube holding you and as your senses and mind try to make sense of themselves, you hear a voice coming from a speaker in the room.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't get to you. Things have gone wrong. The people who did this to you are still here, they'll realise what I've done soon."
"They'll be coming for you, you need to run."

Rules
- Respect all PC and RPC rules.
- This RPG is rated M for Violence and potential coarse language.
- Romance is permitted if you wish but absolutely nothing sexually explicit; if you absolutely must then fade to black.
- No godmodding, power playing or bunnying.
- Improvise! My story is just a guideline; adapting the story to fit your characters is my job, not the other way around.
- Be active please; inactivity is grounds for removal from the game, especially if you're holding the group up or if the slots are all full and others are interested.
- Try to get along; the whole point of these things is to have fun and no one is having fun if we're arguing. No bullying or insulting other players.
- Be realistic when fighting; nobody is a perfect fighter and the npcs don't become magically incompetent when fighting you.
- Have fun! The storyline might be a bit dark, but that doesn't mean the players have to be gloomy as well.

Gijinka Guidelines
Spoiler:
Gijinka tend to be mostly humanoid and larger than the average human, rarely standing below 6 foot tall and having a upper height limit of around 8 and a half feet for the larger breeds. Gijinka can either be pokemon twisted into a humanoid shape (Pokemon anthros) or humans with pokemon features; either way the pokemon aspects of your character MUST NOT be represented by clothing or the like. Extra limbs such as tails, wings or other such are acceptable. At the start of the rp your character is dressed in a pale green hospital gown; you'll get a chance to scavenge clothes later on.
Features - Skills and more
Spoiler:
Each Gijinka is unique, even ones made of the same species. Each Gjinka has a number of "features" to them that denote ways they particularly vary from a particularly large human. Increased strength and agility compared to a theoretical human of their size is NOT a Feature; all Gijinka have this. You should try to have a balance of positive and negative features; you're a product of early, experimental techniques that often created as many weaknesses as strengths.
Examples of Positive features: Having functional exotic limbs (Such as wings or more unusual pokemon body parts, pretty much anything except a tail, which doesn't require a feature slot..), being able to use one of the abilities of your pokemon (Such as breathing fire, channelling energy attacks, etc.), enhanced senses, being particularly strong for a Gijinka etc.
Examples of Negative features: Non functional extra limbs (Such as wings), residual pain from the experiments, difficulty controlling powers, exploitable weaknesses etc.
Feel free to talk to me over VMs or Skype about your characters features. If there's something you really want your character to be able to do we can figure something out; the features system is to stop people being ridiculously overpowered, not to stop people having fun!
