[Developing] Pokémon World Tour

Hi everyone! There's the thread of the game that I'm developing: Pokémon World Tour. A game with a long story in our world. I hope that you like.

Introduction

Pokémon World Tour will be a game where you can travel around the world, our world!. Venezuela is the fisrt place that the game takes place. But before we dig deep into history, or at least part of it, Let's see the historical context of this game:

The world has always been immersed in selfishness and hate. It will not be noticeable on a daily basis, but this situation is present everyday. In many cases, the extreme greed of humans has led to barbaric conflicts, and It brought Pokémon in horrorific nightmares. In the Ancient Age, Pokémon were seen as gods. But with the evolution of humanity, the concept of Pokémon was chaging too.

They came to be seen as partners, companions. But at some point they became weapons. With the arrival of Medieval Age, the Pokémon were more used than swords. In various conflicts between civilizations of that time, lots of Pokémon and human died. In the Renaissance, an shining age came, not only intellectually, also for Pokémon.

Several states began to condemn the use of Pokémon in military purposes. Although, with the conquest and colonization, Pokémon were used to subdue Aboriginal, which also lived with Pokémon species. When the time of independence came, the Pokémon were vital tools on battle victories.

The modern era brought technological and ideological progress. Comes the concept of "Pokémon are not weapons of war." This concept born at the end of the Second World War. The UN has always been watching over the welfare of humanity and of the Pokémon. The department of safety and welfare of Pokémon (DSWP) of the aforementioned institution, monitors and fights for the cessation of the use of Pokémon for violent purposes.

With the emergence of human rights, It brought wiht it Pokémon rights. To reduce the violently use of Pokémon, Pokémon battles concepts were developed. Inspired by the ancient wars. The Pokémon battles became in activities that allowed the training and care of Pokémon by a type of professional called "Pokémon Trainer". This concept arose in the 70s where the first young people began to travel across their country and around the world, having fights with their pupils.

At this point, the instruments to catch Pokémon, called Pokéball, was develop. Device that was capable of enclosing and link Trainers with wild Pokémon without running a high risk with lower effort than in earlier times. Technology continued advancing, and the Pokémon box launches. A software that lent the recent invention called internet to store Pokémon. Also, the Pokémon League arise. Thanks to have improved from catching Pokémon control Leagues began to regulate the amount of Pokémon that a trainer could have. The Pokémon Leagues are institutions that rules particular areas. The first one was the American Pokémon League (APL), which created the concept of Gym Leader.

More league subsequently emerged as the Arab (ACPL), Nordic (NPL) and European (EPL). In addition, battles evolved to develop the term of pokémon contest and the new profession: Pokémon Coordinator. The Venezuelan Pokémon League (VPL) which is the earliest extant Latin League, brought a new concept: Sub Leagues-division. Venezuela has the Central-Eastern Venezuelan Pokémon League and Western Venezuelan Pokémon League. Prototype expected of the Latin Pokémon League (LPL).

With this preamble, we can begin to get deep into the history of the game. You are a 16 years old, with age required to emancipate and start your Pokémon adventure. You are lucky that in your village (El Vigia town), A Pokémon Professor lives, He is called Professor Raul, whose will give you your first Pokémon. .

Your mother is very happy for you to start your adventure. Undoubtedly your goals is to be like your father, a famous and brilliant trainer and ends lost in his return to his journey a year you were born.

But even if you're excited for your adventure, remember that outside is a world full of hatred and selfishness. You'll encounter several trainers with different personalities and interests differents to yours. But also you will get with Exequia team members that have been generating chaos in Venezuela over a year ago. But why? to seize power in the country. The policy is mainly controlled by the Pokémon leagues in countries that have it, and Venezuela is no exception. The team Exequia plans to destroy Pokémon League to take control of the country. Its group is responsible for loot, steal Pokémon to fulfill its purpose. But in a moment you realize that something they claim with scientists.

Meanwhile, Arabian countries that were at war a long time, have decided to be at peace. Europe reborn after an economic crisis. And USA, remains being USA. In this adventure you will meet different characters, each with a particular story. And you will find things that did not go through your head.

- The first part of Venezuela will run in the Eastern Central Region.

- When you get 8 medals in a region you will face a similar Pokémon League as the Anime has.

- Dojo, places where you will fight in double battles with a major character to reach the "Sensei" Dojo and defeat it. [Possible modification of the system]
- There's no a rival, you will meet various characters who will fight against you or with you on several occasions, so you will have lot of them.

Great choice on the tileset, and I'm curious about the contests.

I also like that there's pokemon freakin everywhere haha

If there's 30 gyms then isn't the level curve going to be a bit lax and not change that much. Other then that I'm excited to see this when it comes out, especially that it has more features then regular pokemon games have. Good luck

Yeah. I'm working on the level curve. I found here a script for that but I'm analyzing if it will be implemented.

This looks pretty cool. Is the pokemon contest similar to the one I made(i.e. 3rd gen) or is it a different thing altogether? Also, I really like your backgrounds.

I'm working on that. But It is not the first in my To do list xD. Backgrounds were replaced, soon I'll show the new ones.

Just thought I'd check in. Thought I would also say I will be following this and I hope you continue to work on it.

So you mentioned you would use a Pokemon League similar to the Anime. So are you making it a tournament style? If so I've been waiting to see that in more games. I hate the elite four. It's old and boring now.
