Ten Little Days
Run, hide, fight; survive!
OOC Thread|IC Thread
64days, 5hrs, 28mins, 15secs ago
Scientists began work on a new project, officially 'CRV-ENO3', a project researching the shared dna of pokémon, and unofficially 'mewthree', since certain shady corporations still wanted the most powerful pokémon . They began once more with the genes of the suspected ancestor of all pokémon, Mew, and began creating from it a new creature. However, as these projects always seemed to, something went horribly wrong - the pink blob of jelly that sat at the bottom of their tank harboured intense psychic power, though only primal instinct (seeking to save themselves from their creature's wrath, they did not give it intelligent thought, as their previous projects were given), and broke out, devouring one researcher and stealing his shape, and more importantly, his mind, before moving on to the other test subjects.
48days, 10hrs, 15mins, 14secs ago
CRV-ENO3 has consumed 150 species of pokémon, and seems to be acquiring their powers and forms, too. By the people who have seen it, CRV-ENO3 seems to have applied some of the physical characteristics of the pokémon it absorbed on top of the human form it already had. People are also reporting children going missing in areas around where it was reported to have been seen.
24days, 1hrs, 0mins, 45secs ago
Worryingly, out of the 234 species that CRV-ENO3 has absorbed, one of those is Lugia, the pokémon reputed to be the 'Lord of the seas'. Though nothing appears to have happened with it just yet, a region wide manhunt has been organised. The orders to the authorities are 'kill on sight'.
19days, 11hrs, 40mins, 12secs ago
The manhunt has roundly failed; CRV-ENO3 now has access to the abilities of 390 different pokémon, another of which is a legendary of our region - Ho-Oh. whilst the abilities of these pokémon are questionable, there is no doubt that they are powerful: a small town at the eastern edge of our region, Tenebrai, is now nothing more than a smoking crater. A surviving resident said that a strange man had booked into a bed and breakfast a few days before. Strangely, the resident disappeared soon after giving that statement.
5days, 9hrs, 20mins, 2secs ago
There are only a handful of species of pokémon left. They are a mixture of legendaries, which seem to reside in other regions, thankfully, and rarities, of which a few survive in the wild - that said, what hope do we have against a creature that bested all that went against it? Our only hope is to destroy the last few species that CRV-ENO3 has not devoured, that remain in this region, and spread the word to the others. The researchers tell us that their experiment has a limited lifespan. This was their failsafe - a laughable notion now, but it could save us - we will round up one of each of the last few, so that we might revive them when the danger is over, then hunt the rest down, and destroy them.
1days, 2hrs, 40mins, 29secs ago
The hunt had a disturbing effect on the local fauna - their aggression towards humans has increased tenfold, and their power a hundredfold, but the drawback of this apparent defence mechanism is that they have cut their lifespans down to about 24 hours. To try and contain the damage, the other regions of the world have erected an enormous psychic barrier around us. Following their lead, we erected a smaller bubble around Kisara City, the only place apparently unaffected. From what news we can gather from the outside world, several immensely powerful pokémon - the so-called legendaries - have begun to gather outside of the barrier. They are, perhaps, trying to contain the situation too?
0days, 3hrs, 30mims, 12secs ago
CRV-ENO3 is in the city, and with it, hordes of wild pokémon - whatever madness is infecting them is spreading rapidly to the pokémon here. Our last hope is to entrust the pokémon CRV-ENO3 is missing to various trainers; by splitting them up, we may be able to hold out long enough - according to the researchers who created the monster, it has a very unstable DNA structure. The more pokémon it absorbs, the more unstable it gets. That said, we can't allow it to absorb the rest of the Pokémon - if it does that, then it's genetic structure will complete, and we'll have a lot longer to wait until it dies of old age.
0days, 0hrs, 0mins, 0secs ago.
So, I leave it to you, the last few trainers - defend your precious pokémon with your lives. Your comrades have already declined in number by half in these past few hours. leaving the city is, unfortunately, not an option: not only is the barrier around the city the only thing keeping out more of the infected pokémon, we can't afford to let CRV-ENO3 back into the world - for now, it's preoccupied with acquiring it's missing pieces, - one by one; thankfully it doesn't seem able to absorb multiple organisms at once - but it would be a disaster if it made contact with the pokémon outside the region. We have 10 days left before its timer reaches zero and it falls apart. Run, hide, fight - do whatever it takes to win, and save the world!
Run, hide, fight; survive!

This is an M-Rated roleplay. There will certainly be violence and coarse language, and it's certainly possible that there'll be other adult themes, depending on what you, the players' want to do - that said, when considering such things, please bear in mind the Pokécommunity rules on the matter.
Your party may be made up of whatever five pokémon you like - bear in mind that it's unlikely you'll get a chance to swap them at a pokémon center, and though you can catch the 'infected' pokémon, it's quite likely they'll just turn around and attack you when you let them out - plus one of the ones that have avoided being absorbed.
Tl:Dr - You can have one of the mons on the list, and as many unlisted mons as you like in your party, except legendary pokémon.

There's no requirement to start out with the fully evolved forms of these pokémon - it's equally valid to begin with a Charmander as it is a Charizard.
If an NPC trainer needs to show up, and be in possession of one of these pokémon, they'll be randomly picked and removed from the list, just as if a person had signed up for them. I'll hold this option in reserve, though - I'd rather not start picking off pokémon from the list willy-nilly.
In addition, the 'madness' of the wild pokémon is infectious - if you spend too long battling with them, it might spread to your own pokémon; the effect is a lot slower in captured pokémon, but eventually, it'll be as if you never captured them.
Lastly, your characters do not have 'plot armor' - that is, if they do something dangerous or stupid (or both), they're probably going to get themselves killed, instead of pulling off some superspecialawesome thing.
There is no limit to the amount of players who sign up, though I reserve the right to close the sign-ups as and when it's appropriate (too many cooks and all that). We'll start fairly promptly this time - when at least four sign-ups have been approved.
NEW RULES 18.2.15
The IC will move on at least once a week regardless of player activity.
Players who don't post for three consecutive weeks will be moved to the inactive players list (unless notice is given of absence).
Players who remain on the inactive players list after three weeks will get a warning each week that they're on the list - if they remain inactive despite this, their character will be killed, and they'll have to complete a sign up again if they want to rejoin the rp.
