    Roleplay Olympics

    Introduction

Welcome to the Roleplay Olympics! Our sub-forum is located in the Roleplay Theatre, come join us! If you've never RPed, that's okay, we welcome all skill levels. The Roleplay Olympics will extend slightly longer than the regular GT, more details below.

The Roleplay Olympics (RPOs) are much like the regular Olympics. You can participate in events for medals (in this case emblems). However, instead of testing your physical prowess, the RPOs are all about writing! Post a reply in the thread of the event you would like to participate in, and fill out the form if one is listed. After that, you're officially in the RPOs! However, before you do, take a look at the rules and guidelines of the RPOs. If you have any additional questions, VM or PM one of the event coordinators: SV, The Last Sentinel, Retro Bug, gimmepie, Apotheosis or Mana.

    Rules/Guidelines

    • Unless listed otherwise, the rating for each category has a T limit.
    • You cannot import posts from Roleplays or other pieces of writing. Every post has to be original, and created by you in the timeframe of the RPOs. Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification. You may still use characters and themes from RPs that exist, as long as the post itself is original.
    • There is no limit for the amount of categories you may participate in. Everyone is welcome to join.
    • There is a panel of 4 judges which will score all posts on a scale of 1 to 10, one chief judge and three other volunteers. Judges will create a score out of 10, and write a short reason on why they gave that score. The RPer with the highest amount of points wins top prize. (If you are interested in judging, see the Judge Volunteering Thread.
    • Every post should have two things: A title and a Rating. Both of these must be included in the post, otherwise the post will be disqualified. You may list ratings by in the style shown in this link: http://www.fictionratings.com/
    • If an insufficient amount of people sign up for a category/event after the week is done, then the category will be closed.
    • The RPOs will be like the true olympics when it comes down to the medals (emblems) you receive. There will be a Bronze for third place, Silver for second place, and Gold for first place. And of course, a participation-medal* (emblem) for your effort.
*In order to receive this, you must post in an event. Signing up without writing is insufficient to receive the participation emblem. You must post, or you are not receiving the emblem.
    • The RPO sign-up period will last approximately four days. This will be your opportunity to sign up for an event. If you would like to participate in the RPOs, sign up for the events you wish to enter within that time. Sign up before July 10th, 11:59pm (GMT).
    • The RPO event will take place longer than the Get-Together, with events running from July 10th until July 24th.
    • Informative Note: These events will NEVER be based on how large a post is. Someone who posts the bare minimum is just as likely to win as someone who posts the maximum. Just because you make it longer, doesn't mean you will win. Quality over quantity.

  • This is just a notice so that you all know, sign-ups for RPO events will be closing soon so whether you're an RPT regular or not you should really take a look in and see if there's anything you like. We have plenty of events that should be easy for newcomers to RPing.
