Capitol City, often referred to as "Old Capitol City" by those who live elsewhere, was the first location in Gandala to be inhabited by humans. As people began to move further inland the population decreased considerably, leaving it much more of a town than a city, though it retains its name in memory of its former status.
The city's climate remains temperate for the majority of the year, which causes the city's cherry trees to be in blossom nearly all year round. The gentle breeze and pleasant smell of the blossoms are a refreshing change of pace for the fresh-off-the-boat traveling trainers.
Roughly one mile from Capitol City are what the residents call the Trainer's Dock. This is where ships deposit their passengers, where IDs are checked, and where new trainers can register for the Conductor's Challenge. Once done the trainers are escorted to Capitol City in a much smaller boat (as the large ships would become stuck in Capitol's narrow shores).
The city's exit is located to the west, where Capitol City becomes Capitol road, which connects Capitol City to its neighboring town, Silent Hills.
People/places of interest:
Spoiler:
Zelkova's lab:
Professor Zelkova:
This eccentric, excitable professor hales from the Orange Islands. While his main focus is Pokemon-- namely those that change form, he also has an interest in building machines, and translating ancient languages. Actually, you'll be hard put to find a science Zelkova doesn't davul in at least a bit.
Zelkova's HootHoot:
Zelkova loves bird Pokemon. While his other Pokemon roam the surrounding area at will, this little bird never strays too far from its trainer. This HootHoot has several darker feathers around the white of its belly, looking somewhat like hearts.
Seichiro:
Zalkova's stern and collected Aide. He's an expert at bookkeeping and record filing, and, more impressively, keeping Zelkova on track.
Rotom:
A wild Rotom that has recently taken interest in the lab. It pops up every now and then, possessing Zelkova's electronics and generally bothering Seichiro, though Zelkova thinks the wild Pokémon's antics are charming.
Zelkova's house:
On the side of the lab is an apartment building; the professor's other Pokémon can be found here in the mornings. They love visitors and occasionally give them gifts they find around the city, such as potions, pokeballs, or feathers.
Seichiro's house:
Inside Seichiro's house you'll find his Growlithe. While he's supposed to serve as guard dog, Growlithe is more interested in playing with visitors than he is biting them. Trainers that stop by the house will be given a berry from Growlithe's collection.
Old Song inn:
A hotel/restaurant/training studio for trainers who have proven themselves(whatever that means). A Kimono girl stands at the entrance, informing beginner trainers that they are not allowed to enter, though that doesn't stop some from trying.

Tasks:
1.Arrive at Zelkova's lab to collect Pokedex/receive starter/get fossils revived
2. Proceed to Capitol Road
Capitol Road:
Part 1.5: Capitol Road
There are several patches of grass for wild Pokémon to hide away in, though trainers can easily walk by them and head straight for Silent Hills. There are a few fruit trees along the way for trainers who want to grab a snack, and, more than likely, items dropped by overzealous young trainers.![[PokeCommunity.com] Melodies of Gandala (IC) [PokeCommunity.com] Melodies of Gandala (IC)](https://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv39/Lingsthings/Pokemon/Melodies/capitolroad_zpsyifzqkex.png)
