Earth and Sky

Summers Twilight

Location: Vermillion
Time: 5:45 A.M.
Weather: Partly Cloudy
Temp: 60f

The mild, bitter cold sweeps the morning air as the trainers invited to the underground combat league slowly make their way towards the S.S. Aurum Piscis with ticket and badge component in hand. The ship had a golden lining along certain sections of the ship as the boat's figure head was a golden Magikarp. At each entrance into the ship, a group of guards with their pokemon watch the line of trainers as their tickets are taken, Id's are checked and provided access onto the ship. During boarding, one of the trainers threw a fit claiming he had permission to board as he was beaten aside by security, discovering his credentials we're fraudulent and his ferry ticket, fake. He continues to yell out this 'injustice' as he he is hauled off and out of the harbor.

A crack of sun-light shines as the morning drags on and the weather begins to warm-up as the process is slow and steady, yet each trainer boarding is properly processed.

On the ship, the trainers are directed to their cabins. Each one catching the scent of the food flowing throughout the ship as the chefs are hard at work to prepare breakfast. Morning Sausages, Pancakes, Eggs prepared sunny, poached and scrambled, French Toast, Coffee and much more was being prepared and wheeled out onto the top of the ship, set-up across several tables. The Gym below the decks was filled with trainers attempting to continue their pokemon's morning training regime, along with a vending machine filled with TM's and HM's to help teach their pokemon any final moves they may need to get by in their upcoming battles. Private conference rooms we're setup with basic information on how to survive in the wilderness and some of the weird and odd botany within Lethia. The spa was catering to both humans and pokemon alike, pampering the few to help them relax before their arrival to the region for that it could be a long while before they could ever set foot home or anywhere in their comfort zone for a while. A large theatre was set-up in the back of the ship, playing movies both classic and new from animated to live action.
A dinning room remained empty for the moment until the evening with a large ballroom for dancing next door with a few pokemon playing instruments, playing hip-hop for the morning until the afternoon. The final floor, near the bottom of the ship before getting into the employee's section was a large arcade room with fighting games, rpg's, quizes and so on.

The trainers going to Lethia will have a good 3 days to recharge, prepare and relax before going into their own hell-hole of a region they choose to travel too. With a dark presence in the midst's of a future that has yet to come.

5 fateful trainers, Brick, Shadow, Jackson, Ariella and Kayla, still in line beside one another as they attempt to board the ship to meet either their own destined path's, their destructive ruin or their victorious salvation.

TONY "SHADOW" O'SHEA

Shadow stood there on the ship, overlooking the railing, looking out over the sea as he sailed towards a brand new beginning. It was a chance for him to get out of his brothers' shadows and become his own man. Beside him were an Electabuzz and a Heracross, Sparks and Butch respectively, his two best friends and main partners in achieving his goal. The three of them had been through a lot the past couple months with training, perilous adventures, and several gym battles, all to be ready for the Lethia League. It had all paid off as he was now on a ship that was cruising quickly towards the mysterious region. Shadow smiled as he looked off towards the horizon, closing his eyes and picturing the many adventures he was going to have with his Pokemon.

Later on, Shadow began walking about the ship, looking at the many amenities it had to offer. There was an exquisite dining hall where dinner would be served, an amazing movie theater playing both classic and modern movies it looked like and even a spa to relax the Trainers and their Pokemon before reaching Lethia. All of this was grand and swell to Shadow but there was only one thing that had piqued his interest and that was the Gym. There he saw several trainers battling or working out with there Pokemon. Not one to fall behind, Shadow quickly let out his other Pokemon, a Rhyhorn named Crash and Talia, his Fletchinder. Soon Shadow and his four Pokemon were training hard with sparring matches occurring between Butch and Sparks while Crash and Talia worked on their agility and speed. After some time, the 5 of them slumped to the ground, exhausted and sore. That spa was sounding better by the minute. Shadow was sure they would be making a stop there at some point that day. As he recalled each of them, Shadow made his way out of the Gym. Once again though, something had caught his eye. To his left was a vending machine but not just any vending machine, it was TM/HM vending machine. The discs inside it held powerful move that could be taught to Pokemon, including his own.

"Hmmm, well some of my Pokemon could use a power boost", Shadow said to himself, "Might as well get a couple for them".

Looking through the choices, Shadow had trouble on deciding which ones to pick until 3 stuck out to him, TM35 Flamethrower, TM29 Psychic, and TM51 Steel Wing. Crash, Sparks and Talia would be so happy to learn moves that would cover some of their weaknesses. After paying for the TMs and putting them in his bag, Shadow finally made his way to the spa. He was in need of a much needed massage.

Brick

Standing in line was a tedious, soul-crushingly boring process, and Brick resented every minute of it. What made it worse was just how many people were trying to cheat their way in. He kept a firm grip on his golden ticket, taking the time to reflect on the steps that had led him here. It had been a long, tiresome road, and he refused to let simple bureaucracy stop him now.

After five minutes (that felt like five hours), he was allowed onto the ship, but he wasn't impressed. Sure, it was big, but the whole place reeked of excess and frivolity. "Personally, I'd be happy with a comfy bed and a big breakfast." He said to his Pikachu, Mika, who was perched on his shoulder. "I mean, does it really need a theater and a spa? I didn't realize this was a pleasure cruise!"

He decided he could live with it, and even take advantage of the amenities. The big breakfast wouldn't go to waste, and he'd be sure to hit the gym for an hour or so. More importantly, his Pokemon would enjoy themselves. And after all, wasn't that the point? His goals had always taken a back seat to his Pokemons' happiness.

Kayla sat around on the deck, just looking at the sky as she enjoyed the wind going by her face. Sitting in a chair with Snyow on her lap, she pet her idly. Between using the time to exercise with her pokemon and then working on strategy herself she liked to use any extra time to lounge around and relax. It probably wasn't the best use of her time on the whole for this sort of thing, but if there wasn't time to relax then what was the point.

Though sitting around long enough made her feel just a bit bored, so it wasn't long before she was placing Snyow across her shoulders and going around the deck. While taking her stroll she happened to see someone over at a vending machine, she waited till he had gone off before approaching it herself to look what was in there. It seemed like there had been Flamethrower, Psychic, and Steel Wing TM's, though they had been purchased already. Though that didn't matter to her as she got TM 28 Dig, and TM 40 Aerial Ace. She had plans for those for Sicle and Snyow, but for now she simply headed off to train a bit more. She hadn't done much of it today so it was probably for the best that she got in a bit more practice.

End of Day 1

Location: Ocean
Time: 6:00 P.M.
Weather: Clear
Temp: 75f

In the shadows of the ship below the deck, a few employees tattooed in markings meet up with each other. "...This boat of offerings to the great Chillitha should bring about her awakening..." "Agreed.. Though we cannot dwaddle, we need to place the engravings before the next moon rise...." "We need to place them in sections of the ship where most of the trainers are either barred off from or that they can't see..."

Later in the evening, all of the trainers we're asked to attend the dining hall and we're assigned to different seats based on the name placed on the table. Before anything could begin, the captain of the vessel approaches the center of the room as a film screen drops down from above. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. I welcome you all aboard my ship the Aurum Piscis. Before we begin our evening meal, I have been asked to inform you all now about what you are getting yourselves into... Many of you are enjoying the accommodations the committee has been providing you on this cruise though much of you may not enjoy the luxury. Most of you may ask why go out of our way to make this as relaxing as possible to be such a pleasure cruise... The reason being is that most of you who participate int he contest may not make it out alive." A few Lucario's wheel in a projector as they flip it on, dim the lights and show the first slide of a mass funeral. "For many trainers, this is somewhat a last meal or at least, a last happy moment they will have before taking part in the journey to come when we arrive at our destination. Which is why we want to warn you of the trouble to come and if you are still willing to take the risk... We will be arriving in Lethia's small town Haven in two days and those who believe they are not cut out for the danger this league imposes, they can leave immediately back home to the mainland." The Lucario's switch to the next slide, showing off different colored pokemon. "These pokemon you now see on the screen are considered employees of the Earth and Sky league and we strongly implore you to not capture them or attempt to fight them. They are able to speak to us and are your life guards to ensure your safety to the best of their abilities, yet they are very few in number in our region, so if you see one in a bandanna; if you have a problem, talk to them. Otherwise, leave them alone..." The Lucario's switch over to the next slide with Earth and Sky's Logo. "Finally, to those who are wondering what you will be fighting for. If you complete our league and defeat our elite 4, as well as our hand-picked champion, we are offering a wish to be fulfilled at your hearts desire. Those running this league have contacts, skills, funds and determination to help grant whatever your heart truly desires, even if it is to free a life-time convicted criminal, find someone you've loved and lost or even be given this ship; they have had ways working behind the scenes of things so it is not something to take lightly... The second runner up will be given a choice of a large cash sum or a small collection of master balls... The third runner up will get whichever the 2nd runner up does not pick." The Lucarios flip to the last slide with a picture of the badge on it. "The league is broken into two segments, the royale segment and the finale segment. During the royale segment, if you travel throughout our region, we have checkpoints setup to where you can pick-up badge free badge components, 1 per trainer. Otherwise, you have to battle and wager your badge components to earn more.... Once your complete and assemble your badge, you are to return to the town of Haven where the finals against a bracket tournament and a fight against the elite 4 will take place... You are urged to assemble as many badges as possible, for that they count as additional chances for you to re-enter the brackets if you loose a match or otherwise, you will have to attempt this next year. The finals will take place in the fall and I hope you all make it back to Haven in time.... I've kept you all held up long enough."

The lights brighten back up as the Lucario's wheel the projector out and each trainer is given a menu. "Welcome to Earth and Sky. I at least hope we are making your trip as comfortable as possible before our arrival. I'll leave you to your meal. Enjoy!"

Jayna Morestead
Location: Aurum Pisces - Spa Center
Time: 5:35 P.M.

Jayna sighed, slipping into the warm steaming water of the hot tub. The spa was finally slowing down, most of the trainers being lured from the news of dinner away from the relaxation center and towards the dining room. She didn't particularly care about the dinner, she'd had a light meal a couple hours ago, and so she decided to take advantage of the peace and quiet to get some time to relax. She sank slightly lower so that only her closed eyes were just above the surface, letting the warm water bubble against her skin. Ah yes, this is exactly what she needed.

Most of her day had been spent training and learning all that she could. She started her morning as she always did, working out with and training her pokemon, making sure they were in their best condition. After the training she had spent as much time as she could cramming as much information about the mostly uninhabited region they were slowly approaching. Her father had always told her that a person needs as much information as possible, and even the smallest details could make a major difference. Then again, he was an archaeologist, and they would dig for hours in the dirt to find a bone the size of a fingernail, so he had always been extremely detail oriented. Fortunately Jayna followed in her father's footsteps, and her equally detail oriented mind sucked in as much information as possible; maps, terrain, flora and fauna.

"Excuse me, ma'am?" A voice interrupted her peace, waking her from the almost trance-like relaxed state she was in. She opened her eyes to see a man, a spa employee by the look of his uniform, standing a couple feet back from the edge of the pool. Seeing her eyes open, he went on and said, "There is going to be a presentation at dinner going over some of the important parts of the event, it's highly recommended that all trainers are in attendance."

She sighed, slowly getting up. "Fine, fine," she grumbled, pulling herself out of the water and grabbing a nearby towel. Guess she was going to go to dinner anyway...

Location: Aurum Pisces - Dining Hall
Time: 5:59 P.M.

Jayna walked into the dining hall, slightly later than she would have liked. She always like to be at least five minutes early, and now she was barely showing up before dinner was scheduled to begin. At the entrance to the expansive dining hall was a server standing in front of a small podium, and on approaching the server said with a rather bored voice, "Name?" Jayna replied, quickly and almost dismissively looking across the room at the various trainers, all types of people. All of whom she would soon be competing against. "Ah," the man, the steward really, said, "table 23, that one right over there directly under that one chandelier." She followed the man's pointed finger and gaze to the table, spotting one with a spot open. Seeing as how most other spots were already taken, that must belong to her.

She wove her way through the dining hall trying not to disturb the other trainers who were all talking and laughing around her. Irritated she ran her fingers through her hair making sure the bun still held. She hadn't really had a chance to dry her hair properly, so it was still slightly damp. It would probably be a mess to deal with later tonight, but it seemed fine for now. Finally she came to her table, pulling out the empty chair, spotting a small name tag on the table with her name on it. As soon as she sat down and pulled the chair up to the table, a man with a microphone approached the large empty space and called for the room's attention. A video screen also lowered from the ceiling and two pokemon wheeled a projector into the room as well.

The man went on to describe exactly what they were going to be getting themselves into. Giving a general overview of the region, he said things that for the most part Jayna already knew from doing some research earlier. Probably the most interesting part was exactly how the trainers would compete, by going from place to place throughout the region and collecting badge pieces, or something like that. Supposedly, gathering enough pieces would mean getting a full badge with which you could enter the league. From how the captain, for it was he who gave the presentation, made it sound trainers could steal badge pieces from each other was well, wagering them in battles or such.

The other interesting tidbit was the rewards. She had known about the grand prize being that any wish would be granted so long as it is within their power, but she was unaware that the runners up would have rewards of their own as well. Finally, the presentation was over, the lights came back on, and the captain left them to start ordering their dinners. She still wasn't that hungry, but she ordered a salad anyway, just something light. Having ordered, she wondered if she should talk to the rest of the trainers at her table. They were going to be competing against each other, but it might make more sense to get to know some people. Maybe they could team up during the badge collection, then break their alliance for the tournament section. Then again, maybe not...

Temp: 65f

As the second day laid about; the trainers we're making the most of the leagues hospitality. Holding small events from a conga line to ice sculpturing to a small wedding between two trainers wanting to tackle the league together as husband and wife. Though as the evening was rolling into view, heavy storm clouds we're rolling in as the rain started trickling down. The waves we're becoming slightly more fierce as well as out trio cultists we're busy making their markings.

The trainers could choose to go to the dinning hall for dinner or enjoy the evening dancing in the ballroom where a pair of pokemon we're playing a slow yet adventurous tune. The newly weds we're happily dancing to the music, drawing the attention of the crowd.

It was a beautiful stormy evening.... Or at least it would be....

Location: Captains Deck - Super Structure on the Aurum Piscis
Time: 5:37 P.M.

"Captain, I'm picking something up on the radio..." The captains walked over to his communications officer. "What have you found?" "Sir, it's a garbled voice of static... It sounds like a rely of....orders." The communications officer flips the switch for his speakers; parts of a garbled message begin to fill the room. "
$#@!231......Atta-!@#% Pisci#@!@%. Capture all 32%3!@@@@~%$@Kill the Tra!@312341`......
" "What on Earth?" "Captain! I'm picking something up ont he Sonar....something....big is heading our way." "..... Reverse and turn the ship to dodge, alert the sta-" *BOOM!* The cruise ship began to rock and tilt slightly, punching a hole into the hull of the Aurum Piscis.

latest
A boarding pod has wrecked into the hull as Team Aqua begins to storm the ship. With their pokemon in tow. "I want team B to secure the trainers, team A is with me!" "AYE CAPTAIN!" The current crew on the deck take notice to the change as the pokemon playing drop their instruments and get into battle formation.

TONY "SHADOW" O'SHEA

Unfortunately, Shadow never got to that massage. By the time he got to the spa area, it was time to go to dinner. The dinner was had been very nice and Shadow enjoyed the company of the fellow trainers he was sitting with. Then the captain came out and told them all about the land they were traveling to, Lethia. It was all that Shadow was hoping for. This would for sure set him apart from his brothers and truly allow him to make a name for himself. As the captain finished his talk and dinner was served, Shadow struggled to keep his excitement. Finally, dinner ended and Shadow was able to head back to his room, eyes beaming with pure joy as he thought about the adventure and danger ahead of him. After several hours of playing through scenarios in his head, Shadow finally passed out in his bed at 2am, fast asleep.

The next afternoon, Shadow finally awoke. It was already 3pm and he was starving. With that in mind, Shadow quickly took a shower and got dressed heading towards the dining hall with Crash when he heard a commotion. It sounded like something had the ship, but what? Not really stopping to think about it, Shadow took off towards the sound to check it out. As he reached the ballroom, he noticed two shady, blue uniformed people with Pokemon about to battle with the Pokemon musicians. Stopping on a dime, Shadow turned into the ballroom ready to battle.

"I'm going to assume you two were responsible for that crashing sound just now" Shadow said as he ran in, stopping in front of the two of them, "Looks like you're also ready for a battle and I'd be happy to oblige, let's go Crash, use Thunderpunch on that Corphish!"

Electricity began crackling around Crash's hand as he sprinted towards the Corphish, looking to make a direct hit. Shadow knew he had the type advantage in this battle but quickly realized that he was outnumbered and decided to send out another Pokemon.

"Alright Butch, come on out, we need your assistance!" Shadow yelled out as he tossed the Pokeball upwards, releasing the Heracross in a white light, "Prepare for battle. This isn't going to be easy!"
