Pokemon Dark Rift (December 2016: OFFICIAL DEMO (Be aware that there are some bugs)



Introduction:
This Pokemon Fan Game couldn't have been done without: RPG XP maker & Pokemon Essentials!
Been in development since 12/20/2015

Plot & Back Story:
After the events in the Alola region the Ather foundation split in half. The half that left felt betrayed by Lusamine, (they actually wanted to help Pokemon) and went to the Ombrix region to help with its development; however mysterious rifts have been spotted all around the region causing gravitational anomalies and releasing an infectious energy. This energy has been labeled as Dark Energy, due to its effects on Pokemon. It changes the physical appearance, strength, typing, and emotions. Dark Energy makes Pokemon stone hearted and malicious to all others who are not infected. After some time has passed The Ather foundation in Ombrix starts running low on resources and funds and needs aid from another organization. Lucky another organization that calls themselves Galax.co decided join forces with them into solving a cure of the Dark Energy. Ombrix Ather and Galax.co eventually come together to make the Pokemon SC (Secure and Contain) organization. Together they've been trying to secure and contain the outbreak; however with little success. Their most current projects Ultregas (Ultra Pokemon) were created to understand the infection process in hopes of a cure and if need be to fight off and stop infected Pokemon from getting to their facilities all around Ombrix; however all 6 escaped and have been leading the infected Pokemon like armies attacking villages and towns. It is unknown if this Energy is infectious to humans. Ficus the Dark Energy professor came to the Ombrix region before the outbreak to escape the mayhem in Alola with the Ultra Beats and another project; however little did he know he was getting into another mess. The situation is only getting worse and you the player are helping Ficus to get more Dark Energy and along the way make choices that will impact the story and the outcome of the game. The fate of Arceus and the entire multiverse depends on your actions.

I'm currently working on the 5th release (Shadows) and my release date for it is roughly sometime near February of 2018.

P.S. Just as a forewarning some of the characters do not have their animations yet.
Since MAJOR balancing/bug/animations/map edits/and character intros have been implemented you will need to RESTART your game. This is the last time you'll need to restart Dark Rift for the future release(s).

I just downloaded the game, but you seem to have left the game edit code, the PBS and a lot of other things inside the folder. I shan't edit anything as I'm not that kind of person, but I'm just warning you of your mistake. Make sure to seal it properly ready for release next time!

You've also used the pokémon essentials test game as the base. You're supposed to copy all the essentials data EXCEPT for the game edit file, the game.exe and anything else with game in the title, or anyone else using pokémon essentials will be put in wherever their last place in essentials was (e.g. Lappet town)
May I suggest creating a new RMXP project, called Dark rift, and copy everything BUT the game.exe file, the game RPXproject and Game configuration settings files. This SHOULD give you everything you've done, but out of with it's own save file, not the essentials one.
I believe that this game could be really good, and I'm sure with a bit more knowledge of Essentials it could be! But brush up on your Essentials skills, then go back to the game. This could make the game a LOT better!

To Everyone: Hey just to let you know the May release is just around the corner! It is going to have the entire beginning of the game redone (so you must RESTART your game), balanced issues resolved, bugs fixed, new backgrounds, new music, over 10 new fakemon, over 15 new attack animation, whole new areas, 2nd gym, 1 Boss fakemon, more story, and more decisions to make!

Game fixes in the September release:

>Voltronix the 1st boss pokemon has been nerfed to level 10 and has the moves harden, bobalt, protect, and celestial comet. Instead of what it used to have.

>Jays part of the time line can now no longer get you stuck

>Some of the moves like Bobalt have been fixed to where they no longer keep attacking the opponents pokemon until it's dead.

>Some of the Fakemon have received new abilities/moves/stats from what they had so they wouldn't be too over-powered/under-powered.

>The nuclear/cosmic gyms have been given little buffs from what they had before

>There are also 2 new abilities coming with the September release!!!


>The "neutral" timeline has been fixed, it no longer has weird events and game breaking bugs

>All Fakemon now have new and unique sounds from what they used to have

>All Fakemon stats have been fixed to what the're supposed to be

>The timeline will finally have a major branch in locations/story/and Fakemon you can encounter

>For those of you who hate Route 102, It is now possible to get back to Vivelin Town from there

>The Voltronix glitch, where if you lose to Voltronix it gets you stuck in a loop is fixed so you won't get stuck.

I'm getting this error when I try to start the game.

EDIT:

NVM found a fix online:


Go to the installation folder of RPG Maker and locate the Game.ini.
  • Open this file with a text editor like Notepad.
[Game] Library=RGSS100J.dll Scripts=Data\Scripts.rxdata Title=NOM DU JEU RTP1=Standard RTP2= RTP3=
  • Remove "Standard" next to RTP1.
It should look like this:
[Game] Library=RGSS100J.dll Scripts=Data\Scripts.rxdata Title=NOM DU JEU RTP1= RTP2= RTP3= Save the modification and launch RPGMaker.

Do you plan on doing an EV/IV screen?

I also wanted to say I find the concept of new typings awesome!
