    Tales of Zestiria the X
[PokeCommunity.com] Tales of Zestiria the X

Sorey is a human youth who grew up among the seraphim, spiritual beings not visible to humans. Sorey believes in the folklore that says "long ago, every human was able to see the seraphim" and dreams of unraveling the ancient mystery to make the world a place where people and seraphim can live together in peace.

One day, Sorey visits the human capital for the very first time. He becomes embroiled in an incident during which he pulls out a holy sword embedded in a rock and ends up becoming a Shepherd, one who casts away calamity from the world. He begins to realize the gravity of his mission, and his dream of coexistence between mankind and the seraphim becomes more intense—

And thus, the Shepherd embarks on an amazing journey with his companions.

The Berseria advertisement is strong in this adaptation.

Episode 0 was cool. It's nice to see the human perspective of what's going on with the world. Visually, this series looks stunning. Lots of pretty effects everywhere, and that Alisha spear-handling was some sweet sakuga. Seeing Lunarre as a human was an interesting surprise. I actually didn't think he would look any different, lol.

I'm buckled in. I've already played the game, but that probably won't mean much since having Velvet here makes that point moot. And, really. Any changes made to the story of Zestiria can't really make it any worse, so bring on the Berseria references! I'm eager to learn more about a certain dragon. Buuut, none of the Berseria stuff probably won't come up until the second cour in Winter, after Japan has digested the game.

Oh, Kaze no Uta is pretty catchy. Always love some FLOW.

I'm still not sure if I want to risk wasting my time by watching this, the game had the most terrible plot I've ever seen in a Tales game, and if the anime is following that plot...it's going to start off strong and derail fantastically about halfway through before ending on a pathetic, barely explored whimper. Then there will be an Alisha OVA that explains nothing. Plus Berseria spoilers.

I'll wait and see how badly they mess it up later on, I guess. Because this needs to be a re-write, not an adaptation, if they want to make it even remotely good outside of the animation.

So.. not really a spoiler since it can be clearly seen during the OP: they will be mixing this with Berseria at some point. It is not clear if they will use characters from Berseria in the present (Zestiria) or if they will just show some things that happened in the past (Beseria).

Nice first episode, as most of you already know they will be changing the story from the game, so I don't know how much from the original content we will be watching. I wasn't really very proud of story since it was kinda weak, but I loved the gameplay (and I lost count of how many hours I've been playing by now lol).

'm eager to learn more about a certain dragon.

    Exactly my thoughts.

I don't plan on watching it since I didn't enjoy the story of the game, but the animation looks beautiful. Also, apparently they fit in more development for Alisha in the first episode than the game ever gave her? At least, that's what people have been saying. Which is hilarious to me that they have to make an anime to get the point across about her, and other things, that seem to have come out better here than in the game itself.

    Rose > Alisha

I didn't know Sakura from Fate Stay Night would be Lailah. Filling the space Miyu Matsuki left behind won't be that easy... (might she rest in peace).

The sanctuary at Ladylake increased in size in comparison with its game counterpart lol (I was like LOOK AT THOSE STAIRS).
We're still following the game route with a few changes... so...

Spoiler from the game (regarding Alisha and the party)
    Spoiler:

lol @ Lailah not wanting to reveal anything during the preview

    Edna > Rose.

    Your turn now =D

    Lairah > Edna

    The Breast.

Well... maybe we can reach an agreement.

Spoiler from the game (regarding Alisha and the party)
    Spoiler:
Though... they did say they wanted to give Alisha bigger role in anime after all the backslash with her leaving party and not being able to become waifu.

I actually don't like Velvet that much...

Basically the same thing that happened during the game with a few variants.

Well... rumor has it next episode

Also, a few days to Berseria's release in Japan... and I need to wait until 2017, I'm dying.

Just wanted to say that this is a pretty decent reworking so far. Lots of small changes and rearrangement makes this a lot smoother experience. Mainly being the whole Hyland events. Also, those Berseria episodes were 👌.

Also, episode 8 was great, yet a little bit bittersweet for me. Still enjoyed it. No bias at all when I say that. None whatsoever. Absolutely zero of it.

(btw Berseria is a good game.)

CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW GREAT THE OP IS. I JUST KIND OF... REALIZED.

Berseria OP rocks as well, worth the mention (related, since we can see during the anime).

Are you playing the Japanese version? Worth it? Does it deliver???
DO WE HAVE MORE EIZEN SAABISU!?

I said it a month ago, and I'll say it again. Kaze no Uta is catchy. Sort of related, loving the fact that Ufotable is bringing out OST from Zestiria for the fight scenes.

Going to put this in a spoiler for less clutter, and it's technically not related to the anime, lol.

That's all I needed to hear, honestly. Arigato gozaimasu < 3
    I can't wait ;___; Sadly I don't own a PS3/PS4, so I'm waiting for the Steam release 1Q 2017.

I'm gonna start watching this anime really soon, it looks beautiful and I've never had any experience with the Tales games or anime so it will be all new to me. Ufotable usually don't let me down so hopefully it should be a good watch :)
