    Been a while since I've had some kind of issue, huh?

    Anyways, I'm back on the old grind in A-Map, and just finished the basic layout of another map of mine. But the flower tiles specifically are weirding me out. I placed them (and I mean quite a few of them) near a small body of water, and for some reason, when my player character is right above them, their reflection shows up on the flower as well. The reflection goes away if I open and close any start menu option, but tbh, I'd rather not have it there at all. Plus it happens again if I walk above the flower once more. It only happens with flowers near water, and I can't seem to figure out why.

    There might be something wrong with the behavior byte.

    Hmm, I just checked, and the behavior byte is set to 60. Looking at a fresh FR rom to compare, it's set to 0.

    It's been a while since I worked on this, so I honestly can't remember why I had the flower tile's behavior byte set to 60 lol. Setting it back to 0 doesn't break a single thing. But it seems that even setting it back to 0 doesn't stop the reflection from happening. It could just be the water I'm using, but I've used the same water elsewhere, and no weird reflection glitches.

    Yes, and the background byte of the flower should be 00 20. All the nearby grass tiles should obviously be 00 00.
    And there are two instances in which there is reflection on water: The Puddle and The "Surfable" Lake.
    Open both of them in the block editor in a vanilla ROM to match them with your ROM.

    @BrandoSheriff
    A tile that has a background byte 00 20 (Fire Red) or 00 10 (Emerald), Block Covered by Protagonist, can have reflection on its 1st layer if it's near another tile that has behavior byte 10 04 (Reflection on water with waves trailing).

    My advise would be to keep tiles with that background byte (Block covered by protagonist) always 2 tiles apart from tiles with behavior byte 10 04 (Reflection on water with waves trailing) if it's not meant to have reflection.

    Thanks for the info! So it's actually an issue of proximity... I gotcha. And moving my flowers further away did solve that predicament. I'll remember this going forward: don't put flowers near water lol.
