    Hi everyone.
I am RealAmethyst, or Ola if you want to call me by my real name.
I love Pokemon and live in Norway. I am also fully blind, meaning I play the games based on sound alone.
This can be a bit challenging, but I like it. Anyone tried playing Pokemon blindfolded? And if so, did people enjoy it?
That's all I have to say here for now. If for some strange reason anyone want to chat with me I have discord: Amethyst#1781
I have no idea how I can get notified if people reply here, but I'll probably just check from time to time lol. Thanks for reading and I look forward to being a member here.

Forgot to say that I am male and 18 lol. Probably something people want to know, or not. I don't know.

Hello, and welcome to the PokeCommunity!

I can't imagine how difficult it must be to play any game blind, much less Pokemon.
Though I did play The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time with a blindfold once.
This makes me want to try Pokemon Fire Red blindfolded sometime.

Do you have a favorite Pokemon game?

Hi there. My favorite Pokemon game as of now has to be Brilliant Diamond.
Regarding pokemon and accessibility I think it's going down hill. Gen 9 doesn't have the clasic wall bump sound, which I use to navigate. Without it I'm simply lost.
Pokemon Fire Red is a good game. I have memorized most maps of it, but some are difficult, like the rocket hideout.

What is it about Brilliant Diamond that makes it your favorite? I've only playrd a little bit of Shining Pearl, so I don't know the remakes very well.

I can't imagine an almost fully open world the size of the one in Gen 9 would be easy to navigate blind. I can see and still get lost from time to time.

What's the hardest game you've ever played? If you feel like sharing that of course.

I love the remakes as I played Diamond a lot on my DS before I lost the rest of my vision. I couldn't read any text, but I could see where I was walking at least.
The hardest game I've tried has to be Dark souls 1. A friend of mine tried to guide me through it. It didn't end good lol. I think I got a bit past the first boss, but damn that game is difficult.
I have always wanted to play Portal though. That could be more difficult, as that game requires thinking and that is something I am not good at lol.

What a nice memory. I'm glad they remade those games to be as good as you remembered them.
I could barely beat the first boss of that Zelda game I mentioned earlier with a friend's help blindfolded, I'm not sure I'd even try that with Dark Souls 1. Oh who am I kidding, of course I would.
That sounds like an incredibly fun nightmare.
I've never played Portal, but I have heard it's a good game. I don't know how much harder it would be blind, though I'd assume quite a lot.

Hello, RealAmethyst, and welcome to the forums!
I am sorry to hear the recent Pokémon games are not more open to blind people... I wish you the best of luck to find games, official or fan made, more accessible for you to enjoy.
I also hope you will enjoy your time on PokéCommunity forums!

Which pokémon do you like to use the most ?

    Hi.
My favorite Pokémon has to be Staraptor. I always have it on my team in every game I can find it in.
I actually got a Starly as a starter when I did a Pokémon Omega Ruby randomizer. That was fun.
