    Hey everyone! I've been a pokemon fan since the dubbed anime came out way back in 1998 (yes I am old.) I'm here now because I remembered this site is where I picked up a few cool rom hacks some years back, and figured I should sign up proper this time. Also I'm interested in starting up a type of community LP I had an idea for, I'll be lurking here while I gather my thoughts on how I should go about it, cheers everyone!

    If you are into ROM hacks, the Fan Games sections are here for you! It is always great to see long time fans of Pokémon join PokéCommunity! Which games do you plan to show in your community LP ?

    Hello Alex_Among_Foxes, thank you for the welcome! I've tried a handful of rom hacks here but I would like to branch out and try more, my favorite would have to be either radical red or unbound. How about you, have you tried out any fan games yet? And thanks for the luck, getting it started is going to be the hardest part.

    And hello to you too Fact Checking Gardevoir, your name makes me laugh I like it! Thanks for the hyperlink, it's been awhile so you saved me the minute of trying to find it myself. I plan to start with unbound! However the thing that has me hesitating is I don't know whether to do it in video form, or old school screenshot style, thank you for the welcome as well as the luck!

    Wow hello to you too ReKoil! I take it you're an eeveelution fan? I actually have not kept up with the series since I finished gen 3 as a kid. I've found that rom hacks really turn pokemon into something special that enhances the experience of vanilla games. I'm curious as to why you ask though, are there more people like me than I thought? Haha

    Neat-o! And no, I haven't had a chance to try any fan games as of yet, but I am planning on giving Infinite Fusion a look when I get some time.
    What was it about Radical Red and Unbound that you liked so much?

    I am indeed. The Eeveelutionati shall one day rule the world with an iron paw!
    Do you have a favorite group or type of Pokemon, like say dog Pokemon, cat Pokemon, the pika clones, Water types, etc.?

    Also yes, on here there's quite a few people who have stopped playing the mainline games in favor of Rom hacks and/or fangames, though there are also plenty that play both categories.
    I've only tried one fangame and didn't like the grind so I'm not really one of them tbh =P

    Hehe! I was actually inspired from a character from an arduous but great fan game called Reborn (Gossip Gardevoir). Have you tried this fan game by chance ?
    And nice! Whichever form you choose, I hope you will enjoy your Unbound run!
     
    Infinite fusion seems to be the hack to play these days, I really hope you enjoy your first fan game experience!!! I really loved radical red for it's challenge, I think it was the hardest pokemon game I've ever played. As for unbound I felt as if it was just absolutely amazing that someone created an entirely new and believable pokemon game/region for people to explore! Sorry I haven't figured out the quote function yet, this response is for you Alex!

    ReKoil, I just noticed that your Eeveelutionati members all have falinks armor! Do I even want to ask how they acquired it?... As for your question I never really thought of categorizing pokemon like that, at least besides typing. I did that "favorite pokemon of each type" survey once and mostly filled it with gen 1 pokes, I'm a sucker for the classics! Aww, I'm sorry you did not have a good experience with your first fan game. I encourage you to give another one a try because I must say that a good pokemon fan game would never make grinding a requirement!

    That's cool FCG, the idea of a psychic pokemon like gardevoir being a fact checker just fits so well. I have not tried reborn nor have I even heard of it! But I will have to check it out now that you brought it up, as well as Infinite Fusion which Alex mentioned! Thank you again for the luck and encouragement, I'll probably have a thread up for it a little bit later tonight so you can check it out if you feel inclined. I'll be sure to pick up a gardevoir/ralts in your honor if I come across one!

    Reborn is one of the best fan games in my opinion, its story and characters are well written, its maps are quite interesting to explore (not to count its BIG city!), and if you are into challenges, you will find a good number of them in this game! And hairpuzzling pulls! ... I mean hairpulling puzzles!
    PS : Be sure to check the news TV between each badge! ^^

    That sounds neat, I'll have to give it a go then! One thing about me is I definitely love challenges in games. I'm usually not too big on puzzles but I suppose I could always check a walkthrough on youtube if I get too stuck and am itching to see more of the story haha. The thread is up now thanks, writing it all up took a little bit longer than I expected
