[Other FULL] «Sword Art Online: Sanctuary» [OOC/SU][T]

That's odd... I made sure to do research into the point of player cursors... and the wiki said that sleep killing did not change the players cursor colour to orange...

~ Quote I read and link to the page it came from, for reference to the cause of my error.

However, based on the fact that a wiki can be edited by anyone, I will accept your judgment on the issue. It is not necessary that Vanish sleep PK's after all.

Hm...actually, hold on. Lemme check the source first, that might be an excerpt from the Light Novel since it's never addressed in the anime.

Of course, again, it's Rose's call, but I at least want to know for clarification.

I've changed it now already, but if you manage to find some source material to back it up then I'll happily change it back.

While not necessary that Vanish sleep kills... it would add a further sense of sinister drive to his actions.

Ah. Ah, okay, it makes more sense if you consider how Sleep PKing is different from regular PKing.

From https://swordartonline.wikia.com/wiki/Player_Killing :

Sleep PK - manipulating a sleeping person by moving his/her hand to accept a Duel and then killing them.

Taken this way, it's only player killing from a moral or conceptual standpoint. On a technical level, however, it's not really a PK because the game sees it as a duel (where the loser is the one who is PKed).

Ahh so in that case... sleep PKing wouldn't actually effect the players cursor color correct? Since the game rationalizes it not as murder... but the loss of a duel?

Well that's good right? I assume this means that Vanish is good to go sleep PKing and all? I'll leave that decision up to you Rose.

I guessss... I'm going to steal my lovely boyfriend's light novels for a bit... Know what is coming to you ShinyDiamond! You can't hide them from me!

This means your SU is good to go and I would love to see Vanish inside of SAO c; finally a bad character! woot!

EDIT: I'll be messaging people tomorrow who haven't posted in a very long time and everyone who doesn't answer my message within 4 days will be removed from the RP.

Ahh excellent news! I'm excited already!

Should you wish for Vanish to get up to any specific badness or negative activities in secret... then shoot me a PM and we can discuss such things. ^-^ As for now, I think I'll start with a little bit of stalking. Muwahaha!

Great!

If you're looking for interaction... I've been so busy with Lucina that I completely forgot I have another character. Her little sister Lacy! She's a kind-hearted girl, if you wish to interect then please say so~

Guys it's past bedtime. I'll be writing a day-ending post soon and attach a post with the boss information to it.

Alrighty! First post with Vanish is now up... I think it should give you all a good idea as to how much of a psychopath he really is deep down.

It's dark, it's cruel... but damn is it fun to write as this character. XD

xD The first three volumes I have should suffice! My volume 4 should arrive sometime in April.

-Deceptio Welp, your post has got me interested in Vanish. Almost reminds me of another character...almost. Shame Robin couldn't save the couple's fate since he arrived in the field AFTER NEW YEARS BELL! xD

Give it two weeks and its New Years Eve, little lady goes to her boyfriend and tells her to meet him by some damn glade in the field just outside of town on the fourth floor.

I also noticed something about the fourth floor. On page 1 of the thread, floor 4 only consists of the town, Lobria. No field. Floor 3 is just a field all over though. Maybe fix that?

My apologies for the issues with the floors, I have corrected it in my post and made it so that Vanish had followed the girl down to floor 3 before returning to floor 4... the extended walking distance serving as another factor to sour his mood. Again, sorry about that, it was purely down to my own lack of attention to detail.

And there's much more to vanish than there might seem... the overall insanity and evil of the character is really only the skin depth of his personality. Understandably however, it's often very difficult to breach into any part of Vanish and his personality... as when people find his broken and psychotic nature, well, it's often too late. Muwahahaha.

Sounds like he'll be an interesting challenge for Robin. *thinking how Mamoru will communicate with Vanish* ^^;; HE will definitely annoy Vanish.

Vanish probably won't have much time for Mamoru at all. XD Still it will be interesting to see how they interact. Maybe "nice guy" Vanish will be so irritated that he breaks character once or twice... it might be a nice way to drop hints to the characters as to his true nature. :O

I'm interested to see how he'll interact with Godot. I feel as if Godot'd be the type to try to relate to him before declaring him a menace to society. But I don't think Godot would ever try to kill Vanish. He'd possibly say he would, but I imagine Godot would only go as far as to show Vanish the "fear of death" that he's dealt unto so many others. He'd be the type of person that Godot would keep an eye on and, as a result, I imagine some sort of friend-rival relationship would form.

...But if he met Kagome, she'd probably just try to kill him.

To be honest I'm also interested in the relationship between Vanish and Godot. Though Kyusai has almost no ability when it comes to making (or even viewing others as) "friends", it may be possible for him to see William as a rival, or maybe even an equal to himself in some ways.

When you look at them objectively as I am now they have many parallels in terms of character, yet they each represent these aspects in different ways. Aye, you know the more I think about it the more I feel like they're kind of like the old paradox of similar opposites.

Muwahaha! I can imagine that Kyusai is actually going to absolutely adore toying with and interacting with William. He's the kind of guy who'd point out the similarities that Godot might have with himself for the sheer amusement of seeing a reaction. Should Godot try to instill the "fear of death" in Vanish as well then Vanish would only come to enjoy Godot's company even more.

Still... that all assumes that Godot finds out the truth about whom Vanish really is beneath the person he pretends to be!

As for Kagome, she's more than open to try. Vanish LOVES it when people try to kill him. The whole role reversal thing is hilarious to him.

Exactly HOW would he react if he were to actually DIE? O.o Would he actually enjoy the sensation, bask in its painful glory?

A very good question.

With a horridly depressing answer.

He'd laugh at first true, bask in the pain as you say, but the depth of Kyusai's character goes deeper than that. There's a massive part of him locked away that hates everything he does, that despises the act of killing. However his life as the abused child of two gangsters who wanted a killer for a son twisted him to the point of almost losing that part of himself.

In your scenario, once he calmed down from the laughter and actually realized that he was finally the one dying... he'd probably use his last breath to thank the person who killed him, sincerely and not sarcastically. He'd finally be free of the monster that he had become, the monster he is incapable of stopping.

Comparing this to a video game or visual novel (as is fitting literally and metaphorically for this RP), then let's say that this outcome is the "Bad End" for Kyusai. Kyusai is completely unable to redeem himself in this result and dies as a villain and nothing more, the only remaining shred of dignity he has fading away in his last words , perhaps leaving whomever dealt the final blow to wonder just who Kyusai was and whom he could have been if given the chance.

Kyusai is more than just your stereotypical psychotic bad guy. Deep down at his core he's just as much a victim of his own actions as all of the people he hurts and manipulates are.

Don't get too down in the dumps yet however, there are "Good Endings" to Kyusai's game as well that I've been going through in my head. There may be ways for Kyusai to finally redeem his actions and break free of what he is, depending on how he interacts with all of your characters in the stories to come.

But... well, I won't go over any of those happier outcomes right now. There has to be some surprise to him after all, right? ^-^

Well, if he ever decides to target Robin or find ways to use him, he'll need to be really careful. He's not someone you wanna mess with.

Haha I wouldn't assume that of course. But Vanish is tricky. It's very unlikely that Robin would even realize that he was being manipulated until Vanish was finished with him.

And trust me, the fact that Robin isn't someone to mess with will just make Vanish want to use him even more.

I just have one thing to say to both of them...

Good luck & may the fittest & wisest survive!
