I'm pretty sure Professor Oak didn't know she was a girl either, thus why he refers to Yellow as a he.
Come to think of it I have no idea when he finds out Yellow is a girl though O.o

Ruby and Sapphire: They have the whole past thing going on, and they're the ones that are the closest to being an actual couple.
Ruby and Marge: They get along fine as well, although this would make Marge a criminal in a lot of countries.
Red and Yellow: I don't know why, they just fit.

I thought Ruby had the silliest looking hair, until he was all like: "D:< ITS A HAT YO." And then, when his true hair was revealed, I thought he still had the silliest looking hair. >__>

Anyway, I'm a noob to the pokécommunity, so I don't know the names of ships or whatever, but I do love Gold/Silver, Red/Green, Ruby/Sapph, and I think Yellow's crush on Red is absolutely adorable.
 
I dont know about any manga other than the red/green/blue/yellow chapters. I read up to chapter 75 and couldn't find anymore scans after that. Does anyone know where I can read all the other stuff? As far as couples go. After my discovery that Yellow is in fact a girl, I like her and red together. I mean, from what I've read, she's going through a heck of a lot of trouble to find him. She deserves Red. Besides, that leaves Blue available for Green. ^_^

I always imagined it being like 12 years. Hmm. The sizegap is pretty great too. I imagine Yellow sitting in Lance's lap gently sucking honey off his fingers.

Yeah, he was about twenty two in the Yellow arc.
