Film 10 Cloverfield Lane

Waking up from a car accident, a young woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) finds herself in the basement of a man who says he's saved her life from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable.

So the sequel? reboot? spinoff? "sister-sequel" of the 2008 found-footage film, Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane is being released this weekend. Are you excited or less than enthralled? Are you going to see it or just wait until it comes up on your Netflix que?

Personally, I wasn't a very big fan of the original Cloverfield movie, but I'm rather intrigued with this new film. I love me some intimately tense thrillers and with what looks like only three characters in this film almost entirely set within this bunker it sounds like a ton of fun. I love John Goodman and since I saw (and adored) Short Term 12 I've been following John Gallagher Jr. so I'm excited for those two to be a part of the cast. I only know Mary Elizabeth Winstead from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, but she looked... alright in the trailer so here's to hoping that she has a solid performance. Overall, I'll probably go and see this in theaters as my friend wanted me to go see it with her. I've been seeing this film get some rather favorable reviews, but i'm still gonna keep my expectations on the lower side so I don't get disappointed if it turns out to be bad.

i absolutely loved this film until that shitty ending ruined it.

it's hard to explain how bad the ending was without spoiling anything, but seriously, way to ruin a decent movie.

I was hoping for the Cloverfield monster to pop up at the very end of the movie, considering that J.J. Abrams has been known for lying to his audience in order to keep the twist of his films a surprise. What I got instead was:
