17-Year Old Girl Kills 450 Pound Bear

yeah, pretty much what sav said.

lol DURP.

Wow, I'm sorry. The way you said FOX sucks made me think you were bashing the network. And I don't understand this whole concept of YouTube blocking FOX in certain areas. What's that all about?

FOX uploads and allows its content to be broadcasted within the US (and possibly some other countries). Anyone in those areas can view its content for free but in other areas, it's not available. It's usually used for material like TV shows/clips or music videos so that companies can make revenue from content on Youtube (instead of people uploading it randomly and they don't get a cut of the funds) but they also don't always have permission to show it in some countries or they don't want to deal with getting the permission... I dunno exactly. But it's the same sort of reason Hulu is only available in the US.

Fox's preference that it control which content of its gets viewed where. Same reason Sony and EMI have blocked videos in the US due to copyright claims.

So it's all about the money it seems. I never even knew you can make money off your YouTube videos; where do I sign up XD?

But I suppose this little tangent we've gone off on is getting off-topic so I'll leave it at that.

Wow!
This video contains content from FOX News Network, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.
That was awesome!

But, from what I read in this thread, the video is probably nowhere near as awesome as one would expect. Everyone can kill stuff with weapons, but something awesome would be killing such a massive bear (I have no idea what 450 pounds are, but it sounds like a lot) with bare hands.

roughly 204.1 kg, my metric buddy. ^_^

Man, thats one huge bear O_O
I bet she's proud of killing that thing, because she also saved that cub ^^

I'm disgusted by this. I don't care if its a 17 yr old or 12 yr old, I don't like seeing animals being killed for fun. Its like going to hunt humans, would you do it for fun? Even though it was trying to eat a cub, let nature take its course, its been like that for millions of years, why change it?

Change is imminent, and as much as I disagree with animal violence and hate hunting, I doubt I'd be able to watch a cub get eaten. :[

I know, but its nature. Humans have no right to step into the role. Even tho we already did. :/

The thing is, she actually ended up keeping the bear's meat and selling much of its carcass, if I recall the video/related news-stuff correctly. Responsible hunters don't take more than they pay for the tags for to hunt. Most American hunters are now responsible hunters. They also usually keep most of the meat from the animals they end up killing. And humans ARE A PART OF THE NATURAL ORDER. Plus, the most atrocious hunting practices are actually occurring in SE Asia, Africa, and South America, where there is far less enforcement of reasonable hunting practices.

Humans are part of the natural order when they were living off the land like Native Americans, but now we are not. Still I don't like the idea of hunting. :/

Meh, however you look at it, humans are just another race, and we need food and water, just like a lion or a bear. The thing that annoys me is that as soon as an animal kills a human, that animal is hunted down and killed. If a human kills an animal, it's congratulations, take a photo, sell the meat, and do it all again.

But, unlike other animals, how many species of animals have we wiped out over a small amount of time? Thousands, no millions. Has any other species done that? No.

The typical modern hunter is against species extinction nowadays. Or at least they are where I live, where, even if you don't hunt, you probably know someone who does.

Also, those largely occurred in times or places where humans still viewed nature as an enemy to be conquered and subdued.

And what about insects and rodents who carry diseases and such? Those wreak just as much havoc as we are capable of on species. And, unless we count insects and plants among the species we've eradicated, it's nowhere near a million species. Thousands, yes. Millions, no.

We're the ones who spread around most of the harmful insects and diseases carrying rodents that have eradicated species. We're to blame for that.

Meh, I hate this girl. Hunting is such a horrible and cruel sport (my opinion), and bears are a beautiful animal, how dare she kill such an animal </3
