    The Recommendation Thread
Looking for a new band to listen to on Sunday afternoons? How about a book to read when the days get tough and it feels only reasonable to respond to it all by sitting down with a good book and reading for hours on end? What about an interest in watching a movie or television show? -- Have no fear! This thread is for you.

If you've found a new band, read a good book, watched an awesome television show or movie, please feel free to post a quick "review" or suggestion regarding the band, television show, movie, or book. This thread is basically a reference thread for those who are interested in getting into something new.

    Recommendation Guidelines
It is important to remember that we can't just have people posting "omg watch this movie" or "omg dis band is awesome!!!11111oneoneone", so we have to set a few guidelines as to what is expected in the posts. With that said, listed below is what is expected to be included in the post you create (required, unless stated otherwise):

Music - Band/Artist name, link to official site (if any), genre, rating (not required), reason for recommending, small review (not required).
Movies and television shows - Movie/Television show title, small review (required)
Novels/Books - Title of Novel/Book, author, year of publication, rating, small or extended (suggested) review (required).

Please be aware that if your post does not meet the requirements listed above, your post will be looked upon as spam and will likely be deleted and result with a warning (or infraction).

    Happy hunting!

    Music

    Name : In Flames
GendersGenres : Melodic Metal, Heavy Metal.
    Website : https://www.inflames.com/ & https://www.youtube.com/user/NuclearBlastEurope
Reason For Recommending : Basically I recommend this band because they are now working on their 12th album. A band doesn't stick around that long unless they know what they are doing. I advise anyone who likes metal to check them out. They are one of the Metal genre giants and when you hear them you will know why. Though I wouldn't recommend them if you like metal solely for the heavy beats aas the singer is quite heavy too. Though the instrumentals are amazing. Great musicians.
Review : The band has a very heavy vocals and the guitar is simply astonishing. Every intro to every song tends to be catchy. Recommended albums would be "Come Clarity" & "A Sense Of Purpose". Recommended songs are "Take This Life" & "The Mirrors Truth".
As like most Melodic Metal bands they break down and well are melodic. Look for heavy attack then soulfull breakdowns.

More bands and Genres to come. Too lazy to do them all now.

I'll reccomend a band that isn't very well known...

Band Name: God Is an Astronaut
    Genres: Post-rock, Instrumental rock
    Website: https://www.superadmusic.com/god/
Reason for recommending: I only found out about this band yesterday, but once I heard one track I had to continue listening; they are certainly not one of my favourite bands, but I've never heard anything quite like them before. I never like to be in silence, but if I am busy doing something then playing music can easily distract me; as an instrumental band not much effort is needed to listen to them, so it's ideal for me to play their music in the background if I am working or reading.
Review: Although they are a post-rock band, they also use electronic instruments drawing influence from the ambient music genre. Many of their tracks start of slow and mellow and as the track progresses the sound gets considerably louder and harsher.
Their 'All Is Violent, All Is Bright' album is by far their best, imo.

    Music Recommendation

    Artist Name: Matt Buetow
    Official Site: https://www.mattbuetow.com/
Genre: Acoustic / Soft Rock / Indie
    Rating: 4 stars
Reason for Recommending: I was randomly searching "First Impressions" on iTunes as I found that that would be a good album name for a debut album into the music industry, and started listening to tracks from multiple artists, skipping some just five seconds into the song, but this artist stuck out to me to the point where I took the interest into Googling him. He's not very well known, unfortunately, from what I can tell seeing as how his ratings on iTunes isn't even enough to get charted. :( But I like him as listening to him is really relaxing and a lot different than what I normally listen to for someone who prefers more upbeat music that's danceable. Aside from that, I'm posting it here so I can remember to go buy his album when I have the money.
Review: For someone who plays their music in cafes and festivals, I have to say, I'm very impressed with what this guy has put out there. He writes his own music, which adds to that impression that I have of him, considering the fact that his lyrics are very meaningful. The harmony he plays as well really builds to the relaxed atmosphere that suddenly shines around you when listening to him. It's as if you're sereal and nothing else around you really matters anymore. I find that his voice really captures you, you know? It just pulls you in. You can feel a sense of passion, which you can't do for many artists out there, in his voice with every note. I get excited just thinking about what could happen to this guy. For someone who labels himself, I really hope he advances in his passion and finds suitable living doing what he enjoys. If you have to choose one track he's put out there, I'd take the time to listen to "What I've Been Dreaming Of".

    Music Recommendation
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Recommendation Thread

    Artist Name: Jeffree Star
Official Site:https://www.myspace.com/jeffreestar (how he got famous. He logs on daily and writes back)
    Genre: Electronic/Rap/Rock
    Rating: 5 Stars
Reason for Recommending: For those with an alternative or diverse taste you must hear him.
Review: Most people hate him but he is actually pretty talented. He has a very musical ear but does not perform very well live. His latest projects, Cupcakes Taste Like Violence EP and his first album Beauty Killer really show his talent and how diverse he is. His music tends to be very secular though (which i love) so you may want to keep that in mind. His album also releases September 22nd for those who want to check it outl The two single released already are awesome.

    Music Recommendation

    Artist Name: David Sides.
Official Site: Can be located here.
Genre: Piano / Everything Else, lol?
Reason for Recommending: It was late at night, I was bored and taking advantage of my iPod's connection to the internet by searching up random videos on Youtube. Recently, I've developed an interest in the piano, so out of boredom I typed in a query regarding a tutorial of Chris Brown's Forever ('cause, you know, it's an awesome song). After going through the first three videos and not being impressed, I clicked on the fourth and found David Sides' cover of Forever. It wasn't a tutorial but it was flippin' awesome! I figured you guys might want to give him a chance by checking his music out.
Review: For someone who pieces together his music by ear, it's very, very good. If you listen to any of his covers and you have the original song playing at the same time, they're in sync. The timing is perfect, the notes are perfect. He's a great inspiration. My only problem is that I barely like any of the songs he's covered so far. So... yeah. Give him a listen, why not?

    Rating: 10/10
Reason: I recommended BoA because she recently came out with her new American album, BoA, The First Album, and I want everyone to know about her music. She's unique and fun, and I really think that everyone should know about her. I've been a fan for 3 years, and I've never failed to love her songs!
Review: BoA is such a fun artist to listen to! Her music will get you up & moving, having fun, dancing around, singing into a hairbrush. I recommend her to anyone who wants to dance and/or have fun!
