Since I am stationed here in Pearl Harbor, Hi, I wondering if anybody is coming to Hawaii for the championships?

There's a world championship for this? :O. I don't even know the official game rules and I've never actually played at a competitive level. I just collect the cards.

Of Course I'm going! But I gotta get prepared now so I dont lose in the 1st round! Im already one of the top players at my league (with the 2nd most points) so I'm probably going to skip the grinders. but if you dont have enough $$$, think of how much you'll get if you win!

I don't think there even will be a grinders this year, having read up on discussions about changes being done to the points system.

I'm going to pass on Worlds this year. I don't have the money to travel, but I am set on Regionals and I'll be at states in March.

Traveling here is quite expensive I agree. Pokemon here is not as popular compared to magic and yogioh. They have pokemon tournaments here but nobody plays in them plus there has to be at least 4 people to start the tournament. Really there is nobody to trade cards with here and the only guy I know works at the place and is hard to get a hold of.

No Grinders!? Thank god... but you do remember about the (you get cool stuff if you make it through, but WWHILE SUPPLIES LAST!!!) rule, right? If there's no grinders, there's going to be like three hundred players going, and most of 'em probably wont get the competitor's package.

That's interesting, I didn't think about how the new points system would affect grinders. They are kind of a pain, but they are helpful for luring players out who didn't quite qualify. The points system still confuses me, I have no idea how to qualify for nationals anymore let alone worlds.
