Hey there, I've been wanting to buy one of the above consoles but I can't come down to a decision.
-I don't care much about the 3D effect.
-I don't need a new one per say (buying a used one of ebay would be fine) and prefferably under 100 euros.
-I'll mostly use it for pokemon. (Especially excited for the Gen 4 remake).
Please help me with the decision :D

Honestly it sounds like you made your decision.

That sounds like you're set on buying a 2DS. They're nowhere near as bad as people think and say they are, owning one myself. Most of the "it's terrible" comments are from people who have never touched one.
Aren't most complains just that it's not portable? At least that's what I've seen.

2DS probably is the best option if someone just wants to play the games at home and doesn't care about 3D. And since Pokemon is the game you want to play the most, 2DS is fine since Pokemon doesn't even have good 3D effect. It was mostly added because they had to I guess, but it cuts the framerate in half. Here's hoping Sun and Moon do 3D right since I personally love it when it's done well.

There were a lot of complaints when it was first announced that it looked terrible and was going to feel terrible and was therefore a bad idea, and those carried for a while after its release among people who weren't even in the target market for the 2DS anyway (which was people who felt a standard 3DS was too expensive as well as parents with younger children who wanted a cheaper and more durable system for their child).

It's also still portable, just not "stick it in your pants pocket and go" portable, unless you have large pockets with wide openings (which definitely are available if you're an adult male). It's not like it's this huge device. Width-wise, it slots in halfway between the 3DS (5.3 inches) and the 3DS XL (6.1 inches). Height-wise, it's smaller than the original 3DS when its clamshell is open by nearly an inch (5.0 inches for the 2DS, while the 3DS is about 5.8 inches tall when opened).

In case you wanted more feedback, I own a 2DS and I think it's great. If you're just buying it for pokemon (like I did) the price is much more palatable. I also have large hands and I find it more comfortable to hold. Granted, it does look a little more awkward than the sleek 3DS but, you know, I actually kind of like it. It harkens back to the old GBA days.

If you want fold-it-up-and-stick-it-in-your-pocket portability or if you want 3D, buy a 3DS. Otherwise, if you just want a modern Gameboy, buy a 2DS.
