3rd Generation Scramble Challenge!

You get:

Slugma!
It can evolve, the only restriction is it must know Smog, and can't forget it.

There, you're done!

Game: Fire Red

Team:
1. CH'DING (Must be obtained before I get Cut)
2. Koffing (Can't evolve until it knows Memento, must know Explode and Destiny bond at all times)
3. Snorlax (Must keep the same move set from when I catch it)
4. Meowth (Can't evolve until level 40)
5. Vaporean (Can't hold items or learn Ice moves)
6. ???

Game: Emerald

The team is set!

  • Wingull: Must learn and keep Shockwave. Can only evolve after Flannery.
  • Illumise: Cannot learn TMs.
  • Zigzagoon: Can only evolve after learning Flail. Must keep that move.
  • Spoink: Cannot evolve.
  • Magnemite: Cannot learn Thunderbolt or Thunder
  • Slugma: Must keep Smog at all times.

Very well. What about the starter? Which starter should I pick? (this is more for the rival team to be set by you, and no by me).

@ rizyq: since you want all of the HMs in there... I'm giving you a Pikachu! It cannot hold items, nor it can evolve into a Raichu!

Choose Torchic, I think that your team would have an advantage over the other two rival starters.

Hmm... Did you give me two Poke's?
If not, I'd like another, so I can get started soon, please.

Maybe a pokemon before the first gym?

I never did this...

Rizyq / Firered / Firered? / 6 / Unusual poke's / Restrictions are fine

Yes. First I gave you a Koffing, and now a Pikachu. I was given a Wingull and a Magnemite by the same person, and apparently the rules don't say anything against it. Though you can wait for someone else, if you want to, I won't be offended.

That's fine, I'm gonna get started ASAP.

Any Restrictions on the Pikachu?

I'll use the Pikachu, I don't mind being give two Poke's by the same person, I'd just like it to be only two.

EDIT: Nvm, didn't notice what you said. Okay.

My Team:

6. Pikachu (Can't hold items or evolve)

Okay, I'm set.

I'm gonna use Charmander, because Bulbasaur is the one my team least-counters.

Alright I need 2 more.

1. Clamperl (Can't evolve or hold Deepseatooth)
2. Snorunt (May evolve, but can't learn Ice Beam and must keep Protect and Headbutt)
3. Mawile (Can't learn Dark attacks)
4. Seedot (Can't evolve until it knows Explosion)
5.
6.

I already started the game, and caught Zigzagoon and Wingull ASAP. I leveled them both to level 5, and by now, Zigzagoon already picked up a Potion and an X Attack. I have a feeling this is going to be a productive playthrough! :D

@ Phazon: Mawile can learn Dark Attacks. I think he'll have to, actually (because it's one of the first things he does learn). What he can't do, is use them.

In any case, want me to give you another poke?

Phazon, you get:

Treecko, it can't evolve and it must keep either Pound or Absorb, your choice. (Just say which one)

Alright, and yeah, I'd like another please :)

EDIT:

Just saw your post rizyq. I'll keep Pound.

Blues searched in the bag of destiny and found out a present for Phazon...

A NUMEL!

Numel must get Eruption (which shall be kept forever) and cannot learn any TM moves. He can learn HMs though.

I'm gonna start in a few minutes, I've got to do some school work. (And get a ROM that doesn't have weird starters xD )

My Team:
6. Pikachu (Can't hold items or evolve)
(Starter Squirtle, because I am an idiot, and said Charmander before, I want a Bulba-Rival.)

Oh good I like Numel. Thanks guys I can start now :)

1. Clamperl (Can't evolve or hold Deepseatooth)
2. Snorunt (Can't learn Ice Beam and must keep Protect and Headbutt)
3. Mawile (Can't learn Dark attacks)
4. Seedot (Can't evolve until it knows Explosion and it must keep it)
5. Treecko (Can't evolve and must keep Pound)
6. Numel (Must keep Eruption and learn no TMs)

1st Emerald Update!

So, as soon as the game started, I picked up Torchic. Continued the game until I could catch pokemon, then got me a Careful Zigzagoon, whom I named Hunter, and a Modest Wingull, whom I named Seasight. I trained them both to level 5.

Continued through the game until the 1st gym. It wasn't hard, specially after Seasight got Water Gun, and Hunter got Headbut.

The Gym was a piece of cake too. All I had to do was Water Gun whatever appeared in front of me, and on the double battle, Growl with Hunter (just to be sure).

So yeah, so far I have my 1st badge, and the game isn't being too rough on me. This 1st gym always gave me problems, so it's a nice change. Until now, Hunter has got me 2 Potions, 1 Repel, and 1 X-Attack.

Seasight, the Wingull (Must learn Shock Wave and can only evolve after Flannery.)
Modest Nature
Level 13
~ Water Gun
~ Wing Attack
~ Super Sonic
~ Growl

Hunter, the Zigzagoon (Can only evolve after learning Flail. Must keep Flail at all times.)
Careful Nature
Level 10
~ Headbut
~ Growl
~ Tail Whip
~ Tackle

EDIT: Beat the rival and the 2nd gym too. Nothing too special worth mentioning, specially since the movesets are the same. Hunter got to level 15, and Seasight to level 17. The 2nd gym was really all about Headbutting and Wing Attacking like crazy. Hunter got me 2 Antidotes, 1 Full Heal and 1 Great Ball on the way from the 1st gym to the 2nd one.

Gust is not that great of an attack at all, but I'm going to keep it because it will hopefully get better. Confusion and Psybeam even without STAB are great. The only reason I still have Tackle is because at all times I need to have 4 attack moves at all times.

Update 1

Got Treecko and caught Seedot
Trained, but skipped about 4-5 trainers
Beat Roxanne on first attempt

2nd Emerald Update!

Continued speeding through the game, eventually getting to Slateport. From then proceeded, cleared all the trainers I could until now, got myself an Illumise (named Firefly), and gave it an Exp. Share I had gotten from the president of Devon. Wattson was next, and he wasn't going to be easy. Multiple attempts proved me right. I had to come up with a better strategy than just all-out-attacking. Firefly had gotten to level 22 by the time, but it was still weak. It is, indeed, a weak pokemon. And Seasight was 4x weak to Shock Wave, so sending him in would be completely pointless. That said, I could only rely on Hunter for damage. However, that didn't mean that Firefly couldn't take its part...

I equipped Chesto Berries in everyone. With all the Shock Waves coming left and right, paralyz healing would come in handy. I also bought 2 X Speeds, and 1 Dire Hit, as well as Super Potions and Paralyz Heals.

I leaded with Firefly. 3 Charms on the Voltorb make sure his Selfdestruct won't do much. One Moonlight to heal the taken damage, one Wish for the following turn, and a switch. Hunter took a Shock Wave, but got immedeatly healed by the Wish.

Time to set-up. One Mud-Sport assured more endurance for my team members. X Speed and X Attak on Hunter, as well as Dire Hit. Headbut away. Next came Electrike, who faced the same fate.

Then came Magneton. I Tail Whip'd him 6 times, while healing both damage and paralyz from Shock Wave, Sonic Boom, and Thunder Wave. Then I headbut'd him and the following Magnetric, thus emerging victorious of a tough battle.

Seasight, the Wingull (Must learn Shock Wave and can only evolve after Flannery.)
Modest Nature
Level 24
~ Water Gun
~ Wing Attack
~ Super Sonic
~ Shock Wave

Hunter, the Zigzagoon (Can only evolve after learning Flail. Must keep Flail at all times.)
Careful Nature
Level 26
~ Headbutt
~ Pin Missile
~ Tail Whip
~ Mud Sport

Firefly, the Illumise (Can't learn TMs)
Gentle Nature
Level 24 @ Exp. Share
~ Quick Attack
~ Charm
~ Moonlight
~ Wish

Oh, and I got PokéRus on all my pokes! First time this has ever happened to me! :)

Wow, I hope it's not against the rules, but I think I really need to use my starter to help me beat the first gym. A pikachu is no use against Rock/Ground types.

I'm gonna go ahead and use my under-leveled squirtle to help me.

I already used my starter, Quick attack did like, probably 3-4 damage on sandshrew, before and defense curls. I didn't feel it'd be worth it to get my pikachu to level 20 on level 2-5s.
