4 Aloha leaders=Elite Four?

It seems like having a leader for each of the 4 islands is going to be equivalent to the Elite Four. In terms of challenge though I'm not sure. Maybe they'll be difficult or maybe they'll be stupidly easy. Let's hope for a challenge.

I could be wrong, but I feel like the E4 (if included) will be something different. Hala is show to only have 3 pokemon in the trailer - even considering that Kalos' E4 had 4 each, it's still a really low number. I have a feeling that they're more like a "secondary gym leader" kinda deal - it makes sense if you consider that each of the 4 islands will have the island challenge + the leader (8 people in total).

The impression I got is that you battle each kahuna after you go through all the challenges for (and possibly battle) the captain. I wouldn't be surprised if they just spread the challenges out more so that you did each one in the time it would take to do about 2 gyms. Think about it - a lot of the time in Pokemon games, sometimes gyms are really spread out (gym 1 to 2 in X and Y), other times they're super close and the gym leaders are just forgotten because they fly by and don't matter to the story, like the Grass leader in X and Y, or Pryce. So maybe this system is for the best. We don't need 8 leaders and an elite four. They're never that hard anyway. Maybe this way will be more fun, who knows?

Kinda like what others had said already, I personally think the Alola Leaders are like the Gym Leaders, especially if you add on the ?captain to each "leader", it'll make up 8 people you battle, right? (Just like the 8 gyms, 8 figures you battle)
It's just unconventional, more quest-like instead of the traditional gym-building.
But them being the Elite Four? No. I don't think so. They wouldn't release the "Elite Four" this early on and the figures you battle that they'd released seem more casual than an Elite Four member. (I hope this all makes sense lmao.)

Maybe the "Elite Four" will be like another trial after you're done completing these trials.
Again. Hope this all makes sense.
