Welcome to Halloween in E&M! For the next week we'll be having Halloween-themed activities and games where you'll be competing to win candy! Whoever wins the most candy will get to choose the theme of the next splash in E&M (and get bragging rights, just as important).

Every day until Halloween, a new challenge will be posted in this thread with details on how to complete it! From quizzes to streams, it's going to be exciting (and a little bit frightening)!

Spoopy Character: choose a book/film/TV/music character, or celebrity, to represent you! if someone has already chosen your character, please choose another!

Let's get started!

Today's challenge:
After you've signed up (see the OP), it's time to fully get into costume! Make an avatar/signature theme based on the character who you've chosen.

When you're done, post in this thread saying hocus pocus so I know you're done!

You'll receive between 11 and 20 Candy for completing this challenge, depending on how gr8 your avatar/signature theme looks!

Deadline: 4pm GMT+11, Sunday 29th October (72 hours from this post!)

Ghosts have been set loose, and they've hidden in the OPs of six threads that were created sometime in 2017.

Each ghost is in the OP of a thread, and they have a codeword with them. Each of the codewords has something to do with Halloween in the world of E&M.

They look something like this:



Your task:
1) Find the six ghosts and their codewords
2) Send me a PM with the codewords and what they have to do with Halloween (e.g. if you find a ghost with the codeword IT, you can say it's a horror movie)
3) Post in the thread!

Points:
2 points for each codeword you send me
Bonus 2 points for each codeword you can find the link to Halloween for
Bonus 5 points if you're the first person to do all of the above
5 points for posting in a thread with a ghost hidden in it

Hint:
Out of the six threads, 3 have the [music] prefix, 2 have the [film] prefix and 1 has the [TV] prefix. They're all interesting and rather open discussions ;)

This is v v v late (have been busy sorry!) but congrats to Graine for winning the Trick-or-Treat event! I'll message you tomorrow to work out what you want in the Splash as your prize ;)
