Now this is a surprise. I'm probably okay with this, depending on how rare they actually are? But now I hope I find one before I leave Aus in a week and half, herp.
Very surprised to see them released this way, though definitely excited! It wouldn't surprise me if they're about as rare as coming across a shiny Pokemon during non-event periods, but maybe you're more likely to come across them if you live in an area with lots of water around you.

It seems they may only appear in areas with/near natural bodies of water (article has been updated with a reference to that), and they are currently more rare than Unown spawns (i.e. crazy rare). We'll see if anything adjusts...
