So, my friend has an iTouch and I love to play with it. I want one too, but I'm waiting for the 4g to come out. The problem is that I don't know if I should get the 8gb or 32 gb (why can't they make a 16 gb?!). It's like $70 more for 4x the capacity, but I don't have that much music and stuff to fill it all. I don't know if pictures I take will take a lot of gb or not. I was pretty much planning to get it for games and stuff. So, what do you think?

    -8gb
    -32gb for 70 bucks more

People said that 32 will last longer, but I don't know if I'll use all the space or not.

    Help?

P.S. I'm planning on using my own money. I usually get a lot for Christmas. XD

Other Entertainment is a section in which holds discussions on the entertainment world that does not relate to technology or electronics. An example of what goes in this section would be movie, music, book and sports discussions. With that said, I'm going to shoot this one over to Computers and Technology and hopefully you can get some opinions there.

I always say the more space the merrier. 8GB is still plenty of space.

To check the size of your My Pictures folder, simply right click the folder in Windows Explorer and select Properties, The size should appear there. Do the same for Music and any thing else you want to sync with the iPod. But I think iTunes also shows the size of your library.

And there's a lot of apps too, so that's one thing to consider. If your combined personal data goes beyond 5GB then 8GB might force you conserve only important applications, but that depends once again on their size.

I own a 32GB iPod touch. I've only got about 3GB of it down >__> But that was because I could afford it. And it's true it lasts longer because that's less space being accessed all the time. I strongly recommend you go with 32GB if you know you'll be using the device long term.

I'd rather go with depending on how much space you actually need, like 8g. 8g is a lot, like the above poster said.

It depends on whether or not you need the space for movies, as well. Some people, like me, have quite a bit of music that we would want on there, justifying the 32GB. (I only have about 7GB music at the moment, but it would be stupid for me to get the 8GB)

Think about this: How long to you intend to have it? Is it possible that you would fill it up in that time? How much would it cost to get another down the track, assuming you could sell this one off to cover some of the price.

If that concerns you, then you might want to consider a 32GB. I know your pain. I considered getting one, but due to the lack of 16Gb, I can't justify either the 8 or 32.

If you are planning on getting videos then you need a lot more space. Videos can take a lot of space depend of how big it is. And of course if you have a lot of music you need a lot more space. And don't forget the applications. They take space too. So get the 32GB. That is your best bet.

For my experience u should get a 32GB, if u going to Jailbreak or something like that, 8GB,is too little. For games,music,videos,etc..

    32GB is the est option

32 GB will last you longer and it'll allow you to store more crap on it than you would be able to with an 8 GB model. I'd get that.

It all depends on how much music and how many videos (and since you mentioned playing, apps) you want to put on it.

For instance, I have a library of 1,000 songs which cover up 8 GB. My iTouch (which is the old-school 1G, but I'm planning on getting a fresh 4G by Christmas) sadly holds only 8 GB (and it has some games as well) so I was unable to put all my music on it. ):

So, it all depends on whatever you want to load in it. (:
