3rd Gen 6th badge before 5th?

    okay in my firered i start a newgame when i finished it(i wont do it again)when iget the fourth badge i defeat rocket in silphco. and find that i could figth sabrina before koga wow!i do it to see what will happen am i have it.maybe the makers of the game dont think that way.
     
    It's not a glitch; you've always been able to do it. I generally do that to give myself a challenge, since Erika is a serious pushover.
     
    Here is where you have a little freedom to decide who you go for first.

    Both Koga and Sabrina have similarly leveled pokemon so it dosn't really make a difference

    Koga

    Lv 37 Koffing
    Lv 39 Muk
    Lv 37 Koffing
    Lv 43 Weezing

    Sabrina

    LV 38 Kadabra
    Lv 37 Mr. Mime
    Lv 38 Venomoth
    Lv 43 Alakazam

    Just pick one. I face Koga first because:

    • Psychic is annoying without a Bug, Dark or Ghost pokemon. The Kanto Bugs are weak and lack decent movesets, the Ghosts require trading to fully evolve and Darks cannot be caught until after the Elite 4. If you are lucky enough to aquire a Gengar (ie. you have friends) then its part Poison so it's still going to take a bit of damage from those Psychics.
    • His pokemon have generally lower stats.
    • Sabrina has her "rape-in-a-box" Special Attacker Alakazam and I was putting off facing it.
    • Diverting to Koga would mean going down the East coast and the cycle path allowing extra levelling-up time.
    • Koga's pokemon fall to one Psychic easily. For reasons described above, Sabrina is more tricky.
    Koga looks cool, but Sabrina is the better trainer. Face which ever one you want first as there isn't actually an "order".
     
    I have to agree with going for koga first(I just swept his team with Gyrados which own3d all his pokemon, Weezing 1HKO Hydro Pump)
     
    You might also notice that in GSC, you can go to Lake of Rage, defeat Team Rocket and Pryce before going to Olivine at all.
     
    I've never noticed it really.

    I always go to Koga first.
    And have you guys noticed that Koga and Sabrina's badge names switched? It seems that Koga should have the Marsh Badge and Sabrina should have the Soul Badge.
     
    Simple Q&A next time please~ And yeah, I would go ahead and beat Koga first; that's what I normally do.
