7 pokemon in ash's team, what a cheat

I mean, why is it that when Ash does this, his group says that some of his pokemon only follow him around, and yet when Brock does the exact same thing in regards to croagunk they praise him and act like he has "Mad Skillz"?

People are just surprised that anything happens to Brock.

I don't really understand what this topic is about, but I don't think Ash "offically" owned Larvitar. You know, when they have to register their Pokemon or something for the Leagues, Larvitar probably wouldn't count as a Pokemon Ash would be allowed to use. But Lapras would because Ash had his Pokeball even is he was planning to let it go.

Also, Icachi, in regards to Haunter, it only went to Ash during the third round (albeit delayed) because Mr. Sabrina found it in the playground and got it to the gym. Besides, it never attacked Kadabra at ALL (It didn't use any of its attacks on Kadabra, it just went towards Sabrina and attempted to make her laugh.). but, hey, it's your opinion.
I know that he didn't show up until later. I'm just saying that, IMO, haunter did help them...but I guess it doens't matter. ;)

Umm, if she placed it into a pokeball off screen, we would have her calling out Togepi from it's pokeball instead of having to see it outside with the gang for far longer than EVEN Pikachu had mustered in their debuts. Take Squirtle or Lapras, we didn't see him capture them, but we knew he did by having him send out the pokeball containing each of them.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean it always has to be in it's pokeball. Take half of the thousands of filelr charecters with pokemon you NEVER seen in pokeballs. You have to assume they were caught in someway.

Umm, Meowsy was shown to have a pokeball in a flash back, so yes, she had a pokeball, I was more referring to pokemon like Mr. Mime, or that Poochyena sleeping in a basket from a hoenn episode that I saw on someones avatar. And in regards to Meowth, he was actually stated to have been caught in a pokeball in Johto (at least according to TV.com), with Suzie, she never really implied (much less stated) that she even kept Vulpix in a pokeball.

...That's what I was saying is she DID. I was saying that about Meowth

Ash was going to take Lapras to it's pod, anyways, even if it took until the end of hoenn to do so. Besides, he could have been just doing that, and yet never stated it onscreen. Besides, what if Larvitar's mom moved around, or worse, was dead? Just because she was stated to be at THAT preserve doesn't necessarily mean that she Is going to be there when they arrived at it. for all we know, that could have been her last known location.

He would have oaked Lapras and Larvitar then would have been his then immiediately Oaked.

So? By your logic, then that Hoothoot that Gary had was actually his despite the episode making it quite clear that he actually rented it Just because he said he caught it. Heck, Misty even said that some of Ash's pokemon more followed him around than were actually captured by Ash. (Like Charmander, Squirtle, and Caterpie.). so I don't really see the difference between them. Besides, Ash didn't have the same maturity as Brock. And anyways, Ash never stated that Haunter and Larvitar was neither his pokemon, nor did he say that they weren't his pokemon. The only pokemon that ANY character has stated was never their pokemon to begin with was Vulpix.

Sorry, but I don't see how the example is valid.

Speaking of pokemon just following it's trainer rather than actually being captured, I was quite surprised that Ash didn't berate Brock for how he captured Croagunk, considering how Misty and Brock berated Ash as to how HE caught pokemon.

I agree, though secretly I think they were jelous that no pokemon ever wanted to do that with them...well Sans Misty's Togepi for the whole mother thing.

I do agree with you on the whole beration by following.

well, yeah, that may be true, but that DOESN'T mean that they should NEVER be in It's poke ball either. (if Togepi even HAD a pokeball) I mean, even Pikachu was shown to have a Pokeball. Togepi has to be the longest pokemon caught by any character to NOT have been placed in a pokeball (longer than EVEN pikachu has been outside one.). And anyways, with filler characters (though I'll just stick with COTDs since, technically, they AREN'T filler characters [some of them, at least.].), It's a bit different, mostly they only appear once in an entire series (twice, or even recurring if they are extremely lucky), Misty, on the other hand, has been traveling with Ash since episode 1 up to episode 275, 5 movies, and 2 specials (that's not even counting her hoenn appearance.), If we were to find out About Togepi's pokeball, they would have done it BEFORE it's release in "A Togepi Mirage".

Sorry, but I don't see how the example is valid.

Sigh, In Johto's "Illusion Confusion" episode. Gary said that he CAUGHT a Hoothoot (or, if he didn't really say it, he made it SEEM as though he caught it). but later on in the episode, it was revealed (well, more Implied, but still) that Gary actually RENTED it.

I used the episode "Mystery at the lighthouse" as another example, since in the beginning of that episode, Ash was bragging at how HE caught all of those Pokemon, and Misty cuts in and says that Most of those pokemon more followed him around than him ACTUALLY catching him [In the literal sense, Pikachu's the only one. But Butterfree, Charmander, and Squirtle were also captured in similar ways, so Misty does have somewhat of a point.].

I agree, though secretly I think they were jelous that no pokemon ever wanted to do that with them...well Sans Misty's Togepi for the whole mother thing.

I'm sorry, but I don't think it has anything to do with Jealousy in regards to Ash doing it since Brock technically Acquired Onix/Steelix through this way (but then again, it was his birthday present/starter pokemon).

And in regards to Misty, didn't she do somewhat the same thing in regards to her Goldeen? (I heard that she acquired it in a carnival by saving it from these "Pedophile clowns" when participating in this game when trying to throw a soft ball into a bag, or something like this. I think it was in an episode, Don't remember which one.), And that one was DEFINITELY before the 1st episode of the entire series since we first saw her Goldeen (episode wise, not chronologically) in "Pokemon Emergency", which was the second episode out of the entire series, and since she was obsessed at getting back at ASH for what he did to her bike, I don't think she would stop at a carnival between the two episodes.

So, In a nutshell, I don't think it was out of Jealousy out of him being the only one able to do that method, considering how Brock acquired Onix (Yes, I know it was revealed in Hoenn, but Chronologically, it was before Ash's Journey), and how Misty acquired Goldeen.

I do agree with you on the whole beration by following.

Yes, I'd say that, apart from the "Jealousy factor", we agree with each other.

Here's another example: James from Team Rocket was forced to leave his Chimecho at his Parent's House. He drops a Spare Pokéball...And Mime Jr. Jumps in it willing to follow him around.

Um, small appearance or not, they are all still examples.

Alright, I see what you mean. However, with Hoothoot it's different because Agatha and her sister(The ones with the Hoohoots) probably caught those in pokeballs. I mean if it belonged to them then obviously they must have caught them somehow.

See comment Below.

It was a joke...I don't actually think they were Jelous...at all...

How do you even know that? I doubt that's what actually happened. Regardless it had a pokeball.

One again it was a joke.

I do agree that we agree for the most part. However in regards to Larvitar itself, it was never caught by Ash he was just returning it and that's it.

Yeah, Ash didn't "offically" own Larvitar, even if he did use it in battle once or twice.

Um, small appearance or not, they are all still examples.

I know, I was more responding to the whole "Misty could have caught it off-screen" thing. I even confirmed the whole small appearance thing as still being an example by saying that there was a difference between the COTD's not keeping them into pokeballs and Misty never keeping Togepi.

It was a joke...I don't actually think they were Jelous...at all...

well, how was I supposed to know? for all I knew with that post, you could have been serious.

How do you even know that? I doubt that's what actually happened. Regardless it had a pokeball.

what the? I was responding to the whole jealousy part, when I DID think you were being serious. and anyways, I knew of this because someone Said it on serebiiforums (I think it was on a Misty thread). See, this person was remembering how Misty had caught Goldeen (people were dissing it for flopping around) and mentioned that she acquired it via a carnival (I think it had to do with a net or something to try and pick something up.) and She saved it from these "Pedophile clowns" as this person on Serebiiforums called them.
If you want Me to find you the quote in question, I'll do it.

I do agree that we agree for the most part. However in regards to Larvitar itself, it was never caught by Ash he was just returning it and that's it.

Maybe, maybe not. I'd say that It WAS owned by Ash. (Didn't it appear in "Spurt" with the rest of Ash's pokemon? I mean, that thing was devoted to Ash's pokemon and if Larvitar wasn't Ash's pokemon, explain why It even APPEARED in that Opening in the first place? I mean, Since Haunter wasn't really ash's pokemon, it never appeared in that Opening, but Larvitar did appear, so if it wasn't his, he should NEVER have appeared AT ALL during that opening.)

Larvitar didn't appear with Ash's actual team, but running alongside him with his Tyranitar mother. Lapras wasn't shown with his team, just them running away and Butterfree was also shown in a random scene and with his team. Haunter was just there for a day, so I suppose he doesn't count. I reckon Jigglypuff should've been in the opening somewere
