Umm...not to burst your pseudo bubble...but digimon came out in 1992 pokemon came out in 1997...i've done my reserch too...and it wasent made by american's it was made in japan by the tomo company then sold to bandai so they could make the anime.

About the rumor though it is versy likley that a glithch could have changed a pokemon sprite but if it changed the name of the sprite i'm not so sure about that./...

Jsust wanting to say that Blue is right. Digimon Originally started as a Pocket Pet device during the Neopets Craze, which was long before Pokemon was introduced. (just like Nintendo originally started as a Card Company.)

And Digimon is based in Japan. They are ahead in Japan in Digimon. i often find info about Digimon releases from Japanese Sites.

Here's something cool. It's was a rumor, but I proved it was real.
There is a digimon named Peacockmon. Well, in pokemon ruby, you can catch peacockmon. Here's what peacockmon looks like.

I found this digimon when i beat the elite 4. It was where Raquazza was. Pretty cool huh?
