5th Gen A different kind of evil

Say you could get rid of Team Plasma... or make them REALLY the good guys. Which evil team would you have instead in Unova? How would they change the story?

You have like, Team Rocket, Team Magma, Team Aqua, Team Galactic, Team Flare, Team Skull, Aether Corp, Cipher, Team Snagem... that's a lotta teams to choose from. Who do you think would be cool to takeover Unova?

Team Rocket would make sense given how Giovanni seems to conform to the stereotypes of the Italian(-American) gangsters and Unova's overall geography is based off of NYC.

Plus given how Ghetsis' goals turned out to just be generic spy movie villain goals (domination), it would be a fitting replacement to have some guys with generic cop movie villain goals (money) to replace them. Perhaps you could even have Silver feature in some way - after all, Hugh's deep-seated hatred of the evil team in B2W2 isn't that original it's just a different angle on Silver.

Making Team Plasma actually good guys would require a reworking for the entire story of Gen 5, which could make for something interesting.

Or it would, but I imagine in that scenario Game Freak would probably go with less fun/less interesting options like simply adding in a second Team to act as the bad guys and have Team Plasma oppose them a la Team Magma+Team Aqua style.

Giovanni and Ghetsis could have ended up working together. Ghetsis, claiming to be "good", Giovanni, claiming to be good, too, in a sense. Stealing Pokemon to free them... and then make a profit lol. Would have worked out well I think if they tried to team them up together because honestly they're pretty much the same person.

Oh so dulllllll. Plasma didn't need opposition, it needed resistance. Like a group of good people opposing them, trying to say noooo you'll destroy Pokemon happiness... or something like that. Team Flare would have been cool to make an interesting fashion statement but not much else. Aether Corp I think would have been an interesting replacement, or something to work in with them.
