    It was pretty awsome throughout

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. best book i have ever read.

Anything by VC Andrews because she is my favorite author.

Her best book was called "Web of Dreams"

Kinda twisted plots with characters that are out of their minds. Her books are always in the horror section but I wouldn't go so far as to call it horror. Just like psychological or something.

If you have never heard of her the most famous thing she wrote was "Flowers In The Attic"

I like her older books better because she herself did not finish the new ones. (She is dead) But her family has a pseudo writer finishing her work so new stuff still comes out on occasion.

Great books? Wow a lot of what I've read is great. To kill a Mocking Bird, Flowers for Algernon, Plato the Republic [currently reading], The Shipping News [also currently reading], Harry Potter -insert seven book titles here-, Stargirl, and Runt [really old book that I read in 5th grade] are great books that I absolutely love/loved.

I loved the book Flowers for Algernon! I'm reading Invisible Monsters now. Plus anything by Stephenie Meyer.

Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry
    To Kill A Mocking Bird
    The Shining

are my personal favourites, along with a guilty pleasure (which sounds weird, considering it's, like, the biggest book ever) Harry Potter. The book I'm currently reading - Night Life by Thomas Perry - is a good, if rather slow-paced, book as well.

Depending on your age, I'd recommend the Inheritance Series (Eragon and such. Better for a younger audience). Some of my other favorites are Dragon Champion by E. E. Knight and City of Spendors by Eliane Cunningham.

I'll just keep coming back to this thread and editing this thread when I get the chance, but for now I will just recommend the whole of The Demonata Saga. I quite like it, as it is all rather surreal, but the characters are totally believable and have their flaws.

There are so many great books... But I don't know their names in English.. I'll try to figure out x.x

    EDIT - oook, gotcha!
I found the english title of the books, yay!

The Book Thief , Markus Zusak- An incredible book. It's amazing. Totally, one of the best best books. It's a story about a girl called Liesel, that try to live in the 2nd World War. Ok, I'm not that good on describing things.. It's waaaay more than what I wrote. The story is told by the Death and it's sad, so be prepared to cry rivers.

The Messenger, Markus Zusak - Being from the same writer of "The Book Thief", we just can't wait less. The story happens nowadays, in Australia. It's a wonderful book. I read it in 5 hours, 'cause I just COULDN'T STOP reading it! We get involved, and lose track of time x] The story is more fast and mysterious then the "Book Thief", and it's still awesome. You should read it.

La sombra del viento, Carlos Ruiz Zafón - First of all, I couldn't find the English name of this one, so I put the original title. In English, it should be something like The Shadow of the Wind. One of the best books in my collection. You get in a state of continuous suspense... It mixes romance, suspense, action, so many things! It's a grandious tribute for the mistic power of the books. I don't know where this last sentence came from, but it's ok x]

Ok, the books I'll talk about here are from a brazilian writer, and I just couldn't find the english titles of them, so I'll try to translate.
I'm sure that they exist in other countries tough, since there is listed AAAALL the 313541344 countries where the book was release x]
The writer's name is Paulo Coelho, and the first books that he wrote are my favorites. Well, we have Brida, a wonderful story about the secrets of the witches and the rituals of the Moon Tradition to let our Gifts arise from deep of the soul. Didn't understand amything? Read the book. Oh, and it's nice to let know that Brida is the name of the protagonist. AND is a real person. Paulo Coelho met her in Rome, some years ago.
There is The Alchemist too. I rarely find a book with so much strenght and yet simplicity like this. It takes us through the time and brings a personal message for every reader. Awesome, simply awesome.
Those two are my favorites, but there are much, much others!

And we have the eternal Harry Potter series. They're incredible. I read the first book when I was five and i'm still a huge fan!

Sorry for this being so big. I'm quite sure that few people will read it until the end. And absolutely no one will actually look for the books that I listed here. Well, the intention that matters x]
