Johto, the region of mysteries… Johto has always been a popular region for trainer to set off on their journeys, and being next to the Kanto region, even experienced trainers come there. There are a lot of different species of pokemon in Johto, some known, some which are still yet a mystery. Then of course, there are the legendaries, the three dogs, and the two birds who watch over the new trainers.
Johto had been a serene and peaceful place for years, and it was expected to be like that for the years coming. Most of the towns were isolated and quiet, even the port, Olivine City still only saw trainers. People had been against major projects, and development in industry, and there were no criminal groups active. People became naïve, and trusted that their peaceful region would never be affected by normal times.
Plot
Then there was a massive revolution… Over the years people had migrated, and the population of Johto has been growing. Different groups have been established, and of course some of those are criminal groups. Then there is the APD, the anti-pokemon discrimination group. They believe that water, fire, and grass types should not be the only starters, and that other types should be given more opportunities. They started stealing pokemon from the labs, and replacing them with various others, such as rattata, drowzee, and ekans. They justified this by explaining the goals of APD. The people in Johto didn't want to create any commotion, so they agreed with the requests of APD.
What they didn't know was that APD was actually the famous team rocket in disguise. APD now had obtained a bunch of starter pokemon, and had them sent to the team rocket hideout. Then different organizations started to appear, such as the PPRG, the poison pokemon rights group. They took all the poison pokemon from people, claiming they knew how to treat them better. The Johto people were too weak to oppose, and agreed that poison pokemon should be treated better. They forgot that the PPRG had obtained hundreds of poison pokemon. These kinds of scams and hustles have gained team rocket thousands of pokemon, and have given Johto a bad reputation.
Soon team rocket showed their faces, taking over Goldenrod and Olivine with a massive army. The un-expecting Johto citizens were easily overwhelmed, and had to face defeat. The few points of resistance in Johto were easily captured, and Johto became a team rocket controlled nation. Trainers were required to either hand in their pokemon, or be able to keep them but have to join team rocket. The team rocket leader Giovanni was overconfident with their win, and focused on building up defences; as the other regions might prove to be a threat to Giovanni. He replaced all his gym leaders with his own advanced officers, and it became part of the training programme to obtain all badges, which would make a grunt increase in ranks. If any of the officers were able to beat the leader himself, they would become Generals. Under Giovanni, there have been two -known- Generals, Jessie and James. The time being almost thirty years since their defeats against a wretched trainer with a pikachu, the elder team rocket members have finally had a breakthrough.
The other regions proved to be chanceless in saving Johto, and soon build up their own defences, sure to never make the same mistake. Team rocket calmed down, accepted that they couldn't take over another region, and decided to build up their now controlled Johto region. Giovanni wanted as much corporals as possible, and decided that in ten years time, he could probably take over kanto and hoenn with a massive team rocket army. He would leave the newly controlled team rocket region to his grandson when he died, and team rocket would prevail.
What he didn't notice was that the gym leaders he banished had come together and formed a resistance. They had tried to terrorize and interfere with team rocket as much as possible, but they needed to do something major. They had each planned everything carefully, and had each chosen one of their apprentices to carry out their final mission. The apprentices would go in disguise as team rocket grunts, and work their way up to the status of lieutenants. After that there could be a coup, and they could overthrow team rocket. Though it didn't appear to be easy, they had no idea of what was waiting for them.
Your role:
You are one of the nine apprentices; you must take on the team rocket training, and aim to become a lieutenant.
Rules:
-No bunnying or godmodding -No flaming -Swearing is allowed -Dont disrespect any of the other players -GM's word is law ^^ -Co-Owner's word is also law... -Any extra information will appear in the OOC thread.
Apprentices:
Apprentices one pokemon to start off with, they must either already have the type of their respective gyms, or be able to evolve into the type of their respective gyms. *Must be stage one!*
The extra apprentice has a wild card pokemon, but must have a VERY good sign up. He or She has come from a different region and a gym of choice. If you don't get the role you will have to write up a whole new history, so is it worth taking the risk? Don't get too over confident :D
Sign up form:
Name: First is required, last is optional Age: 14+, since it's a tough journey. Apprentice: Starter: Appearance: A sweet paragraph, more if you wish to get the wild card. I usually dont accept less than four or five lines, but its all about quality. If you can be really descriptive in a couple of sentences I might just accept it.
Personality: Same goes for personality.
History: I don't expect too much for history, unless you're going for the wild card.
Reason you were chosen: Just kind of recap on your personality or history. For example, because of his calmness and ability to battle (or something like that). Tough it has to be at least one long sentence. Please do explain and make it longer, this increases your chances of getting accepted.
RP Sample, or Introduction: I want to see how you rp, remember, if your description is good but you don't have a sample I will still decline.
EDIT: Please disregard the comment I sent you yesterday. By ????, I thought you meant the character that was literally called "????" in the gold/silver/crystal games. I didn't know it meant a wild card. xD; /ashamed
alright, here's my su for chuck's apprentice, tell me if anything's wrong :D
Name: Roberto 'Tito' Daviles
Age: 16
Apprentice of: Chuck
Starter: Tyrogue"image removed"
Appearance: Tito has curly black hair, which he bleached yellow, though he buzzes it very short making it hard for anyone to notice. His eyes are a dark brown color, big with rather bushy eyebrows. He seems to be missing two molars on the right-upper side of his jaw, and his veins tend to bulge out rather prominently when angered. Body-wise, Tito stands at the average height. However, he works out intensively, and looks like a pro-wrestler because of his muscles. This alongside a short, black goatee makes him seem older than he actually is.
In the clothing department, Tito, being the ingenuous guy that he is, would walk around the globe barefoot with nothing but his gi on. As a matter of fact, he did just that while he was in Cianwood, but since he must infiltrate the Rockets, he must also copy their clothing style. He thinks of it as 'training'.
Personality: Growing up under Chuck's wing, Tito has grown up to become some sort of a workout freak. Taking each and every opportunity he can to improve on his, and his Pokémon's strength, speed, resilience, and balance. He does things such as using weights to hold up the grocery bags, walk over railings rather than the street, whenever he swims he does it underwater, which makes swimming an anaerobic exercise, and whenever he wakes up early he goes on running frenzies around Cianwood City.
Other than these and those things and perks [and possibly obsessive-compulsive-disorder], Tito appears to be a one way minded person, and generally nice and honest. Even so, the simple Tito is armed with the weapons of hard work and diligence, and will beat up anyone who means either him, or someone he loves, harm. This leads him to be naive and easily fooled, but whenever people lay big expectations on him, he has a knack for not letting them down, and will do just about anything to help out the people he cares about, including accepting certain sacrifices in the name of the 'greater' good.
History: Born in Cianwood City, Tito had always been like any other kid in the small community. Naïve, with dreams of fame, and huge admiration and respect for the one man who had accomplished what they only dreamed of: Chuck. Like it is tradition in Pallet Town to get a starter Pokémon from Prof. Oak, who they all admire, it is also a tradition here in Cianwood City, to study Pokémon training from the master himself. Although Chuck seems like a harsh man, everyone tries his best to train under him, and he likes this since he enjoys teaching to the newer generation.
When Tito came to the Cianwood Gym, he was just like anybody else. What separated him from the rest was his hard work and his diligence that earned him the title of 'number one disciple', and Chuck's trust to go out into a mission as hard as the one that had been planned from the beginning by the Johto Gym Leaders.
Reason you were chosen: Chuck has truly always seen himself a bit in Tito, and he has high expectations of the kid. The way Tito truly enjoys training not only his Pokémon, but also his own body, captivates him like none other. His wife feels the same way as him, and where they both see him like a son; to him they are both his second parents. They also feel that out of all of their earlier disciples and trainers they've encountered, he is probably the guy who is best suited for the job in the sense of being mentally mature enough to avoid any stupid mistakes that would lead to his deception being found out, and he isn't know in the training circuit at all. This factors make him a possibly lethal pain to Team Rocket.

Spoiler:
Agent Seal hiked up a few rocks and sat down at the edge of the beach. The sea's salty and cold water would splash onto his black dry-clean pants and leather shoes, but he didn't mind about that, he had just received about a dozen. He took out his cigarette box, and took one out as well as his matches. Striking the match violently, he proceeded to light up his cigarette. Taking a deep breath and releasing a faint cloud of smoke, he went on and pressed a button on the side of his SAS (Standard Agency Glasses), which caused a red light to light up, and a beep noise. He licked his lips, and started:
"'HEADLINE: ROGUE THIEF CLAIMS TO BE A ROCKET… STEALS A KID'S POKéMON… NO ONE WAS HURT!'
Things like this would be printed everyday, but the reaction was always the same… 'Team Rocket are nobodies… don't mind them, the government will take care of them n due time', or 'Come on! Do you really believe that… Team Rocket?! Please.'
Yup, and since no one took them seriously, I couldn't take them seriously either… I mean, you just had to look at their past, to get that sense of invulnerability… of Team Rocket being so mediocre… but whoever is at the head of these guys, he's a genius.
My name is Balú Martínez, a government agent for the newly founded Kanto Spy Agency, or KSA. My codename is Agent Seal, and my mission is to stop these new 'Rockets'.
Violence of these 'rogue agents' claiming to be Rockets quickly escalated mostly in the mainland, and several changes were done to Cinnabar Island in order to increase tourism. Casinos were built, as well as hotels, motels, hostals… the beaches were cleaned, and the island expanded to the Southwest with trash that was pushed under the ground to increase the ground level. Even so, the living standards of us natives has decreased, and we no longer own Cinnabar… Team Rocket does.
With the frontier built between Johto and Kanto… tourism is quickly decreasing, and thus, violence here is increasing, and I believe Team Rocket might not find this small island as useful as they once thought it to be.
I need to protect my hometown.
My mother is no longer in a healthy condition because of the stress caused by the occupation, and is in intensive care in the hospital. I'm afraid she might die soon because of the declining quality of treatment, and worst of all, my dad is being persecuted by Rocket agents for causing them trouble in the casino. As strong as he is, I'm afraid I'm not confident of him beating this huge organization by himself. This Rockets aren't the same Rockets he's used to. I hope his age won't be a factor.
Ha ha… this is fun…" Balú then pressed the same button twice, and an image appeared in front of him, asking save or discard. "Discard" Balú replied, and the SAS erased his previous message instantly.
"Kyuu" he suddenly heard his Pokémon call.
"Hey Dog (Dog is the name of his Pokémon). How you doin'?"
"Kyu" the Seel replied with a rather worried voice as it emerged from the water.
"Don't worry, father's probably fine, he's got Wolf with him… besides, we're going to save him, right?"
Haha, I read the story behind the RPG and immediately knew which character I was going to use for it.
Well, I could go for the wild-card spot, but I'll give Neko64 a chance at it due to having reserved it. Instead I'll modestly settle for Morty's apprentice. Besides, though I wanted Absol as a starter, there's no Dark-type gym in existence anyway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Edwin Tasselbury, a.k.a. Lupin Age: 23 Apprentice: Morty Starter: Misdreavus Appearance: Lupin is 5'9" tall. His deep brown eyes are clearly visible behind rectangular glasses, because his hair--which is wavy, straw-coloured, and reaches about to his shoulders--isn't thick enough to get in the way. His skin is quite pale due to lack of sunlight, and although he definitely looks and feels thin-figured, he's actually in pretty good shape.
Perhaps part of the reason why Lupin seems a bit intimidating is the fact that he wears all black. All his clothes hug his figure without being tight on him. His coat is especially striking in that sense--it's long enough to reach down to his thighs, and has dark purple embroidery on the bottom, neck, and ends of sleeves. It has a row of golden buttons down the front, and one on each sleeve, and it has four pockets on the outside. He wears a shirt underneath this coat, but no one ever sees it because he always buttons the coat all the way up to his neck. The sleeves of the coat are just long enough to cover part of his hands, which are covered with black fingerless gloves which revel his long, thin fingers. In addition to all that, Lupin wears a pair of black trousers and black leather shoes.
Personality: An outlaw at heart, Lupin has a penchant for sneaking his way around the rules. Specifically, he specializes in stealing things; his strongest skills are in pickpocketing and lock-picking. He always does so in a surreptitious manner, and goes by the motto "quickly, quietly, reasonably" so as to avoid getting caught. ("Reasonably" means "only when necessary" or "not just for the heck of it"). In general, he tends to be a rather quiet person (not to mention he never shouts or raises his voice), and though he'll let friends into his life, he'll still have a hard time warming up to them save for a small conversation on occasion. Most people would see him as being very serious, quite a bit cold-hearted, even a slight bit intimidating--he certainly does have a dark aura about him. In fact, seriousness is the "emotion" he most commonly shows, with perhaps an occasional smirk or fret added in there.
Although Lupin is not normally talkative, he can be when faced with a rival or enemy, in which case his tone of voice can sound a tiny bit pedantic, as if to win them over by wit. He takes on a similar tone when in a discussion group. Moreover, if he's asked a question he doesn't want to answer, he'll try to lead the asker away from the subject. And although Lupin mantains a cold and serious attitude towards strangers and even acquaintances, he sometimes "warms up" a bit when around his closest friends, which he currently has only four of anyway. Even so, it takes him quite a while to form a close bond with someone, as well as to trust someone. In fact, he does have a tendency to be selfish, though there are those times in which he will go out of his way to help a friend, or in very rare cases, a non-friend. One thing he does have is a lot of willpower--he will endure or overcome a perilous situation to the absolute best of his ability.
As far as other things go, Lupin is not too fond of bright lights, and is thus nocturnal. Also, though he doesn't seem to have much respect for people's property, he does have great respect of nature. Thirdly, it's nigh impossible for him to fall in love with or be attracted to someone--I doubt even a siren or love potion would work very well. Last of all, his major weakness is his past, when it catches up to him and finds its way into his thoughts. He gets depressed about it at random times; it is these times when being alone in a remote place is his top priority.
History: Edwin lived the early years of his life in a flat in Lilycove City, Sinnoh. His father worked at a rather prestigious and expensive restaurant called the Golden Swan, although he just washed dishes and swept floors and didn't get paid much. The Tasselbury family was in fact quite poor, poor enough that Dad didn't want a child because it would be too expensive to raise. Mum managed to convince him otherwise, but she really wanted a daughter, and was thus a bit disappointed when Edwin was born. The first three or so years were pretty much okay, but Dad soon got sick of him, maybe even angry for him being a "financial burden". Thus he often took to hitting and even torturing him, in as many ways as possible. (It would probably not be wise to go into detail at this point.) That or he would lock him up in the closet while he went to spend time alone with Mum.
Fortunately, there were some good points. First of all, Edwin eventually figured out how to work his way through the lock on the closet door and his bedroom door. Secondly, he frequently snuck out of the flat at night to explore the city. It was on these ventures that he started to develop his thieving skills, as he needed them to obtain food and money (his parents certainly didn't give him much). Being nocturnal really did have its benefits. Also, as time passed, Mum noticed all the money he had stolen and was actually a bit proud of him--perhaps the family had a second source of income now. Unfortunately, Dad's behaviour and attitude didn't change--if anything, it got worse. Eventually, Edwin decided he'd endured enough of it, and ran away when he was ten, immedately hitchhiking on a ship headed out of the region.
The ship went to Kanto, where Edwin was brought to an orphanage for a while. There, things finally started to improve. Though he didn't care much for the other children in the orphanage, there was one exception: a seven-year-old girl named Yamiko. She was the tiny little redhead whose outfit made her look somewhat like a Kirlia, not to mention she was taking ballet lessons at the time, and thus her most common pet peeve was the "Kirlia Kid". For some mysterious, magical reason, the two got along very well--the friendship seemed to defy Edwin's tendency toward loneliness. However, two months after the day they first met, the two were separated--someone came along to adopt Edwin.
But it wasn't all bad. The new family he lived with had two other sons, and one neighbour who soon became friends with them. Inspired by Edwin's habits and past, the four eventually formed into a gang called the Black Cat Bandits. But this wasn't a violent or foolish gang at all. They were mostly thieves and spies, and didn't pull off any big robberies because they didn't want to attract attention. Also, they gave themselves nicknames, making for extra fun over the years. In that group there was Halberd, the fix-it person who liked to collect knives and even swords; Warren, the amiable Pokemon lover who was usually a scout; Merlin, the bookworm and paranormal enthusiast who did mostly planning; and Edwin Lupin, as he was known from then on, the one who did most of the work.
Once the Black Cat Bandits passed their teenage years, they became less active, and turned to their separate lives. Halberd became a mechanic and strove to become a gym leader as well, Warren went off on his Pokemon journey, Merlin got reunited with his good friend Morty, and Lupin... well, he ended up traveling to Johto, intent on seeing what Team Rocket was up to. However, there was one surprise waiting for him once he got to Violet City: Yamiko, his old friend from the orphanage! Yamiko explained that her Kirlia (surprise surprise) had just been taken from her by Team Rocket, incidentally. The two spent a little more time in Johto, with the intention of spying on them and maybe even getting Yamiko's Kirlia back.
Actually, Lupin succeeded with the latter--he found the Kirlia in a Pokemon storage facility he snuck his way into at one point. What he didn't realise, though, was that Team Rocket had placed a tracking device on that Kirlia a while back (that's how they found it and took it away), and didn't take it off since. So although Yamiko was glad to have Kirlia back, it wasn't too long before Team Rocket found them again. Fortunately, this time Yamiko was able to keep Kirlia away from them, and even destroy the tracking device in the process. Lupin, though, wasn't so lucky. The grunts took him to their own prison, which mainly held disobedient Team Rocket members and other major threats. Its owners had a habit of torturing their prisoners for information, which in Lupin's case was often things like where Yamiko lived or what her Pokedex ID number was, or how Kirlia found its way back to her.
After a narrow escape from Johto, Yamiko went to the other Black Cat Bandits, who tried to come up with another plan to infiltrate Team Rocket, and maybe rescue Lupin in the process. However, the last part wasn't necessary; after about two weeks Lupin managed to escape from this prison, which was a huge shock to not only Yamiko, but Team Rocket as well (apparently he was the first person to have escaped from there). Also during that time, Merlin got a call from Morty, who said that he and the other Johto gym leaders had been coming up with a similar plan. Overhearing this, Lupin decided to make his own contribution to the plan: he thought it would be a good idea to pretend to be a Team Rocket member, but in actuality be spying on and working against them. Morty liked this idea, and thus shared it with the other gym leaders, who refined the details of the plan.
Reason for being chosen: As is said in the last paragraph of the History, Lupin helped come up with the plan against Team Rocket. Well, a few days after that happened, Merlin received another phone call from Morty, who said that he wanted to see Lupin in person, also telling him to come alone. Once Lupin got to the location Morty specified, Morty told him about the final plan the gym leaders had come up with, and again thanked him for his contribution. But that wasn't the only reason why Morty chose him for this mission. Morty was known for being kind of a loner as well, so often times he didn't have any assistants. In fact, at that time, Merlin was his only one, especially because the two had been friends in their childhood, not to mention Morty approved of the research work Merlin had done on things such as paranormal activity and the characteristics of the legendary Pokemon.
Still, why wasn't Merlin chosen for this mission instead? Well, in recent years Merlin had told Morty about Lupin and the other Black Cat Bandits quite often. At first Morty was considering sending Merlin on this mission, but then he thought that the best choice for such a Rocket spy would be someone who has more experience with criminal activity, and preferrably one who already knew a thing or two about the team. He teetered on the issue quite a bit, but something at the back of his mind told him that Merlin wouldn't be a good convincing Rocket. However, since Lupin was already a thief and had snooped on Team Rocket a little bit in the past, he figured that he would be a better candidate. However, there were two problems. First, what if Team Rocket recognised him? However, if he went in disguise, that could be fixed, and Lupin had said he never gave out his name to the team. Second, Lupin didn't have any Pokemon. But that was easily remedied; Morty gave him a Misdreavus he had recently captured.
Tap... tap... tap... tap...
Although voices sounded from beyond the locked door to the basement, Lupin took special care to be as quiet as possible--otherwise he might disturb the ritual that was taking place. Yet slowly, carefully, he was able to pick the lock and open the door, hardly making a sound. He peered inside the doorway, waited until everyone either had their eyes closed or were focused on the high priest/priestess, so to speak, of this ceremony, and slipped through the doorway...
After that, he inched along the edge of the room, careful to remain hidden in the darkness so that the ceremony would not be interrupted by someone spotting him. If he was to be spotted, it was best to wait until he was safely inside the ceremonial circle--for his friend Merlin used to say that any magical circle can be weakened by an outside distraction. Inside distractions... well they were a different matter. Anyway, Lupin waited until when a short meditation took place in the ritual, then walked right up to the edge of the circle, tracing a doorway into it. Upon entry, he visualised the door closing behind him... And all was well. Although everyone had to acknowledge his presence in the ritual from that point on, the participants' ability to keep their mind steered the ritual toward success...
Or not. When the incantation in the end that was supposed to open the gate to NightMare didn't work, Lupin backed away from the circle, standing there almost in shock. He began to suspect that he had been the reason why the ceremony didn't work... that he had ruined it after all. Needless to say, he left the basement the first chance he got...
As soon as he left the school, Lupin headed for Merlin's house, so as to inform him of the bad news. 'Tis the downside of living the kind of life I lead, he thought. Surely I disrupted the magic of the ritual by sneaking into the circle, or perhaps even by tainting the sacred space with my own aura. I wonder if the latter is even possible, but... really, I'm beginning to regret ever trying to enter that basement...
As Lupin turned a corner, his train of thought vanished at the sight of a familiar-looking man. Bobby? Lupin recognised him indeed--this Bobby person was from that same sort of mafia he himself had been in. He had been a sort of boss, one who kept praising him for his sneaking and thieving skills, but also kept nagging him to work out and eat more, and criticising him for not carrying a gun. Overall... he was kind of annoying. But now he was just...
Trouble, that's what Bobby was. Lupin knew it right when Bobby took out a handgun and pointed it at him. What followed was Lupin narrowly dodging two or three gunshots, while moving around Bobby in the hopes of distracting him. During one such dodge, he had to duck right inbetween Bobby's legs--while doing so he grabbed one leg and nearly tripped him. This startled Bobby a bit as he regained is balance, and it caused him to loosen his grip on his gun enough so that Lupin could snatch it right out of his hand. Then he ran away with it.
From then on it was a chase--although at one point Lupin hid in a narrow space between two buildings and Bobby ran all the way around the block before finding him, only to discover that his gun had been emptied in the process. The chase continued, and for a while it seemed that Lupin was losing Bobby... that is, until he turned into an alley. As he ran through this alley, he began to feel weary all of a sudden. Okay, that was sort of normal--he usually felt that way when he was low on energy. But then it got worse and he began to feel dizzy, and after a short while he couldn't run anymore, and instead fell to his knees. Then it wasn't too long before fell forward and collapsed...
~ ~ ~
When Lupin regained consciousness, he found himself in a field, and the sky had become fairly cloudy all of a sudden, when it had been clear moments before. What? What happened? If this is a trick by the...
Then Lupin remembered something Kelsey, his girlfriend, had told him--something she heard from the great-grandmother who supposedly cast a curse upon her. "When one enters the NightMare at the stroke of midnight, one enters the Gate, a field underneath a cloudy sky, which leads to..." and that's where both Kelsey and her greatgrandmum stopped.
So... did that mean that Lupin had somehow found his way into NightMare?
As Lupin looked around, he noticed that there were five other people there, all of who had participated in the ceremony intended to enter NightMare. Now, somehow, everyone from there had been transported here. But not everyone had arrived yet--Lupin thought he remembered six other people in that ritual. One of the girls was missing... But, the twins who had led the ritual had arrived, as did the hyper-looking girl in the pink shirt, the preppy-looking boy who didn't seem to be interested in the content of the ritual, and the boy who looked to be the youngest, quietest, and most involved in the ritual (besides the twins) as well. The last boy reminded him a bit of his friend Merlin, as he seemed to have that spiritual air about him.
Lupin also noticed something weird about his left hand... upon closer inspection, somehow a ring appeared on his index finger. The ring looked to be made of amethyst and silver, with a moon design and a seven-pointed star inscribed on it, and several tiny glass spheres infused around the edge. This was clearly not an ordinary ring, judging by how it suddenly appeared on his finger and how it fit his finger perfectly. But it went beyond that... for he sensed a sort of spitirual power emanating from the ring, as if it was ready to restore energy to his body as well as his spirit whenever he felt weak or tired.
Whenever he felt weak or tired... well, he certainly felt a bit weakened, shaky even, probably due to all the running he had just done. Chases like that always took a lot out of him, however calm and un-panicky he tried to remain. Anyway, at that point everybody except Sage was gathered together and talking to one another; Sage was in a different patch of grass by himself and was looking at a book of some sort. Yup, that definitely reminded him of Merlin, who was a bookworm as well.
"So, I take it we ended up in the land of Nightmare after all," Lupin commented, speaking primarily to Sage but so that the others could hear as well.
Then Lupin spoke in a quieter voice, so only Sage could hear. "By the way, might I ask what sort of a book you're looking at?"
Appearance:Silvia is a relatively fit young man. He wears mostly dull toned t shirts: Grays, Faded Blues, Sage Green, and Faded Reds. The shirts fit tightly around his body, showing a built frame with noticeably muscular pecs, and toned biceps. His primary bottoms are usually faded, tight fitting jeans, in either blue, gray, or black color. His skin is fairly tan, and stands out from his simple clothing. His hair is dark brown, almost black, but still manages to catch the light on top of it. He has thick eyebrows and green, nearly hazel eyes that don't catch very much light. They are something that you need to see up close to really appreciate. He has a sharp shape to his face, what we would consider a "Greek Jawline." He would be considered a handsome boy, but that is usually not the case because he always wears a thick scowl across his face.
Personality:Silvia is, plain and simply, a complex person emotionally, and never really reacts in the way that you would. He is generally quiet, always trying to avoid unnecessary tangents. He likes to deal with things as quickly, calmly and effectively as possible. He may come off as rather blunt, because he doesn't see the point in dwelling on things; this is an aspect that usually strikes a cord with others. He doesn't socialize much, preferring to act alone. Silvia tends to feel weighed down by others, preferring (usually naively) to be alone. He is rather confident in himself, and tends to get over-confident when things go his way. He has trouble eating his own words, and doesn't like to admit he is wrong. Once heated up, he will argue and shout for as long as it takes for him to be satisfied, yet another aspect of Silvia that people tend to dislike.
History:Silvia's mother Rosa, was born in Rustboro City, Hoenn. She was always interested in Pokemon, both her parents being workers for the Devon Corporation, her mother in the Specialty Pokeball Sector, and her father in the Fossil Restoration Sector. She graduated from the Trainer School, and became a Pokemon Trainer. She traveled Hoenn, competing in the Pokemon League, and even trying her hand at the Elite Four. She continued her adventure in Kanto, eager to explore a new Region. It was in Fuchsia City that she met her husband, Marc.
Marc was born on Cinnabar Island, the son of a grocer. Upon his parents retirement, Marc was relocated to Fuchsia City, where he began work at 16 at the Safari Zone. He was content with his simple life, enjoying life with his one Pokemon, Tauros. He met his wife, Rosa when she came to try her hand at the Safari Zone. The two fell in love, and relocated to the quiet town of Azalea to raise a child.
Ever since he was young, you could tell that Silvia was a bright kid. He taught himself to read, and never stopped. His growth was hindered by his parents, though, who preferred to do things they way they wanted, rather than make the right decisions for their child. They averted sending Silvia to study in Goldenrod, preferring a simple life with their son. Silvia has been resentful of this, commonly referring to this as the "incompetence" of his parents. Silvia never felt quite loved enough because of this, and grew away from his parents some.
Reason Chosen: Living nearly all of his life in Azalea, not only was Silvia known to Bugsy as a neighbor, but he had a motive, --(Read RP Introduction) :Team Rocket abducted his parents. Under the impression that his parents didn't love him, Silva was surprised when Marc, his father, saved his life with Tauros before he himself was taken, unwillingly leaving Tauros and Silvia alone. From then on Silvia began to build love and respect for his parents, vowing to see them again. After the Rocket Raid, Silvia lived with Kurt, the Custom Pokeball Maker; a friend of Bugsy. Since then, Silvia has treated Kurt like an uncle, being grateful for what he was given. Because the people of Azalea were most concerned with safety, there were no other candidates for Bugsy to choose from to help in her mission. There really were no other options. After discussing the opportunity with Bugsy, Silvia decided it was what he wanted: A shot at Team Rocket. He finalized the deal and was given a Venonat as his first Pokemon.
RP Sample, or Introduction:
The Beginning
When Team Rocket took over, it was mayhem. People were scared, never wanting to leave town or mix in with the wrong crowd. They suffered. The whimsical people of Johto didn't know how to live under a narcissistic dictator. They were used to a world where they could do as they pleased, being acted upon minimally by the government. Because of this, commerce, social interaction, and mood have been deeply affected in Johto.
Shouts. Loud scuffling, screams, and unrecognizable other noises filled the night. Silva Crowley woke with a start. He look over at his alarm clock: 2:17 AM. His heart began to race as the screams and shouts became louder.
That sounds like Daddy!
Silva began to panic, torn between the idea of hiding in his room, or going to check. He then began to take deep breaths, still unsure of what to do. As he calmed himself down, he decided to wait it out. No matter where in the house he went, the end result would be the same. The commotion began to shift in the house, coming towards Silva's door. Silva's breathing slowed even more. He got up into the corner of the room, and sat on his bed. He looked to his door, his face now expressionless. As the scuffle reached his door, the flimsy barrier was blast apart, a new scene filling Silva's eyes. There were multiple men in black suits, a big R on their chest. Silva's heart began to race again...
Rockets.
Marc and Rosa were being hauled away by the men, Silva helplessly looking on. In a last ditch effort, Marc ripped a pokeball from his belt, noticing a Grunt glimpse into Silvia's room. He punched a short, fat grunt in the nose, freeing his elbow. He pushed the button on the ball, and sent it flying into Silva's room. The ball bounced twice, and then exploded open. Marc and Rosa were dragged away as the bright figure began to take shape in front of Silva. Tauros finished forming, and then let out a mighty roar as multiple rockets tried to move in on it, but couldn't make any progress, their Pokemon unwilling to make an advancement on the raging bull. The men tried, but knew that they couldn't incapacitate the raging beast. They knew a lost cause when they saw one, and left the house. Silva got off the bed after listening to the last of the footsteps die away. He picked up the pokeball, staring well at the ball.
"Thank you, Tauros. But what about my parents?"
He pointed the ball at the Tauros and pushed the center button. The familiar laser was cast from the ball, retrieving Tauros. The boy sighed, looking out the window, the severity of the events sinking in.
What do I do?
He looked around his room, finding his backpack. He wasn't sure if he was going anywhere, but he wanted to be ready to. He stuffed his favorite clothes in, along with a toothbrush, toothpaste, his favorite toys, and Tauros' Pokeball. He grabbed his Life Size Dratini Pillow, and left the house, making sure all the lights were out. He shut the door, and locked it with the key.
Where should I go? The Pokemon Center?
Silva began to walk, taking a right from his south facing house. He looked toward the skyline, Slowpoke Well in the distance. A shout broke the silence.
"Is there anyone still out here? Civilians of Azalea are meeting up for safety at the Gym!"
Silva didn't reply, unsure of who the shouter was. He crept his way, across town, to the gym. He looked into the window, trying to avoid another ambush. There were his neighbors, huddled around one person standing up, a Scyther beside them. Silva rounded the corner, reaching for the doorknob. Before entering, he took one last look in the direction of his house.
Mommy? Daddy?
Name: Kamora Age: 18 Apprentice: Whitney Starter: Aipom
Appearance: Kamora's height is the one thing he doesn't like about himself. He is about 64 inches tall and evcen thought he is the oldest of his siblings he is the shortest of his siblings. So to make himself seem taller he wears a hat black hat, with a white ring at the bottom, when he activates this ring it makes his shoes grow seven extra inches and gives him a taller appearance. This appearance makes him look goofy, but makes him tall and that is what matters to Kamora. Along with his goofy shoes, and magic hat, Kamora wears a black vest that covers his white t-shirt, rectangular glasses with black frames,and long black jeans. The glasses Kamora wears have a special tent in them that makes his eye color unknown to others. Kamora's head is usually covered by his hat, so he has cut his hair to be shorter. Kamora has silver hair, and the only one in his family with this type of hair, which is another unique thing Kamora tries to hide from others. However, when Kamora is about to battle he changes his appearance. He takes his hat, shoes, and jacket off. He puts a black wristband around both wrist and then changes his glasses into clearer lens so his opponent can see his eyes.
Personality: Kamora is a fun loving person, who wishes to be a coordinator rtaher than a trainer. He takes time in making his Pokemon and himself look good whenever they are going out or battling. He does not like to talk to people that are taller than him, because most people he meets talk about his size. This has made Kamora someone reclusive to other people and so he only talks to people his size and smaller. This makes Kamora is well liked by children. He is compassionate to others, except tall people, and tries to guide everyone out of trouble emotionally and mentally. However, if Kamora is insulted about his size, he immediately tries to start a fight and destroy the trash talker. Another key quality of Kamora's personality is that he likes to flirt with girls, of all sizes. His size has become the main reason why girls will not talk to him, but he still takes his time to flirt with them, before being pulled away by friends, Pokemon, or family. He usually drops anything and everything to go flirt with the cutest girl he sees.
History: Kamora was born in Johto. Kamora was born into a household, where battling was the only thing that boys should focus on when it came to Pokemon. At first, kamora liked this idea and focused on that, but then three more brothers came. As his brothers started to grow, Kamora started to be looked down upon. he was the oldest of the children, but he was alos the shortest of the children. His parents and his siblings made him believe that his height made him weak and that he wasn't as tough as the rest of them. Kamora started to grow more distant from his family and at the age of 16 left the house to journey alone. Kamora searched for a way to fix his height problem and return to his family so he could be looked on as tough. Two years later, kamora found the technology he needed to be taller and invented his height shoes. These shoes gave him the appearance of being taller, but also made him look goofier. During his journey, Kamora met an Aipom that was smaller than his family. The family left the Aipom and Kamora adopted her as his own.
Reason you were chosen: Kamora first tested his height shoes in Goldenrod City. When he started them up he grew too tall, which caused him and his shoes to smash into the gym. It was there he met and fell in love with the gym leader and promised to clean the gym, until his debt was paid to her. Ever since that incident Kamora has not gone home and stayed with Whitney and her Normal Pokemon. After Whitney battled a young trainer and lost, she became ill. Kamora watched over the gym and Whitney during her time of need. However, instead of closing the gym because Whitney was sick Kamora took the role as substitute gym leader. Kamora battled using Whitney's Milktank and his Aipom. After three days of illness, Whitney found that her gym was clean and that Kamora had not lost a single badge. She was impressed by Kamora's ability to not only take care of her, but also the gym leader position, the gym, and her Pokemon. With such a display of awesomeness Whitney took Kamora on as her apprentice, so that both her and him could stronger together.
RP Sample, or Introduction: Necro's journeyWhile Necro waited for a response from the others, a hellspaqwn jumped in the air and knocked him out. Necro soon awoke two days later and found the cafe empty. "Where did everyone go?" questions Necro. Leon tugs on his master's clothes and points in the forest direction. "Alright, I amy have failed in trying to round the troops, but I know I can help now! By the power of Ursaring I will find them and help them save the cat." Necro dashes off into the forest. Leon quickly follows after him. When Necro finally speeds through the forest, he finds it in ruins. "There must have been a pretty harsh battle. I wonder where the others are? I hope they weren't apart of this chaos. But if they were, that would leave me alone. If I'm alone then that means I have to rely on my own power. In other words, I am about to die to wahetever creature did this." he sighs and puts his head on the ground. While felling sorry for himself, Leon jumps onto Necro's shoulder. After Necro realizes he still has Leon he cheers up. The two get off the ground and move forward into the forest.
As the two are walking they come across a camp site. The two partners investigate the area carefully. The look at the leaves that were used as a bed, some sticks that had been burned and used for firewood, and flowers. Leon deduced that the others had set up camp about two hours ago and then left. "Good work, Leon" compliments Necro. Leon then points to the tracks that have been left on the ground by another Pokemon. The duo begin to follow the tracks. As they walk along the path made of tracks, they also find blood around the area. Necro again fears that the others are dead. When they finally reach the end of the tracks, they both run into a tree. The two dazed by the tree, inadverently walk through the entrance. When they look up they see the tree is flourished and beautiful. Necro is hypnotized and falls into a pitfall. Leon jumps in after him. When Necro finally hits the floor, Leon hits his head. "Leon, watch where you're going next time." scoffs Necro. "Chimchar, chim!" says Leon.
"I was watching where I was going. I just got distracted."
"Chimchar, chim."
"What do you mean 'Like I said'? I was distracted! You could have changed your course."
"Chimchar!"
"Don't make you angry, don't make me angry!" the two squabble. Leon uses Flamewheel, as Necro puts up a Rock Shield. The ramp of the shield launches Leon up, then he comes down with the same speed. Leon releases an Ember. Necro creates another shield above him, but must use the shield that was in front of him. With that the Emver is blocked, but Leon now shoots another Ember from in front of Necro.
Necro is thrown into a plant and on the verge of being eaten. "Leon, help, help, help!" screams Necro. Leon sees his master in danger and uses Ember to burn the plant. Necro embraces his partner in a hug and apologizes for all the trouble. "Now that's over, let's find the others." the duo walk around the tree. The tree seems to be a maze to them. After going around in circles for about three hours, they quickly scream. "We can't find a way out!" and then a vine falls down in front of them. "Lucky us, now we can use the vine and go to the top. I bet the others are up there. It is obvious they aren't down here." Necro and Leon grab the vine and climb up. When they reach the top, they see that it once held a battle areana. The areana has been bashed apart and there are claw and fang marks everywhere. Leon and Necro put their detective hats on, which they just happen to find in the maze, and search for clues. They each examine fine points from the area then share their results.
"Chimchar, chim, char, chim chim."
"I agree that there was a battle and the others won it through the use of beast like powers. This makes me conclude that they also have an alter-ego like my Exodia. In other words we are all linked in someway. However, while we know they 'were' here, where are they now?" the two ponder. As they think, a small piece of light hits them in the face. The two put their heads together and go outside the tree. A red leaf falls from the tree and starts to be blown away by the wind. Leon and Necro, believeing it to be a clue to the others, follow the leaf. They each run and run after the leaf, showing no signs of stopping. They chase the leaf even when the sun goes down.
When the leaf finnal hits the ground, the two find themselves on Cinnabar Island. "Leon, how did we get all the way to an island?" "Chimchar, chim?" "So you don't either. I hope we will find the others here. However, how did we get started chasing a freakin leaf for that long. Are we on drugs?" questions Necro. As they look around for answers a flyer hits Necro in the face. "Festival of Fire, sounds like my type of think, after all Leon is a fire-type." Necro goes around and ask where to find the festival. A jester points him to the ship that is already starting to go. Necro smirks and puts Leon on his shoulder. He manipulates the ground below and creates a surfboard. He then uses his the board to follow after the ship. The chase for the ship continues..."Don't worry guys, i will help get the cat girl back!"
Drunk: You probably don't remember it, but i rp'd with you a year ago under a different name XD. I liked how you made Tito fit in with the cianwood theme, I can totally see him in the cianwood gym. Accepted!
Proddit: Lol, I'm in the same Rp from which u took the sample from... tough u probably knew ;/. I like the idea of Drake, tough i have to remind you that he is just over the borderline of being accepted looking at ur personality. Please remember to use commas, full stops and all those punctuation marks at the right time. You need to fix this as well as making new paragraphs at the right time. I would over look that and you would be accepted, but... you still need to add the reason he got chosen not just that Clair told him to go. Please edit your application and add that in, therefore you are pending! Clair is still reserved for about a day and a half, if you have not yet edited that by then, ill scap you off :D
Ninetales: Whoa, that was a great sign up. I liked the way Lupin -or Edwin whichever one you prefer- really matches up with his theme, being pale and noctural etc. You exceeded my expectations, and are therefore Accepted! :D
JDJ: A nice SU, I liked how the introduction is connected with the reason he joined and his history, overall a cool character. Gladly Accepted!
Charzeon: You are reserved, and yes only kanto and johto starters.
K9S8: Whitneys little helper :D I liked your character as well, being short and all. Weird, but funny how he doesn't like tall people, but still seems to be a happy go lucky, kind person. Accepted!
Quicksand: Reserved
Neko64: Oh almost forgot, I read your comment, yes it is a wild card from any gym so get a really good sign up.
EDIT: Please disregard the comment I sent you yesterday. By ????, I thought you meant the character that was literally called "????" in the gold/silver/crystal games. I didn't know it meant a wild card. xD; /ashamed
Lol, I guess I could have gone for that spot after all! But you're right, ShadowDragon, now that I think of it, Lupin really does fit the theme of Morty's gym... I originally picked Morty because in a past RPG the Black Cat Bandits had affairs with Morty (not romantic ones of course xD). And the wild card wouldn't have helped anyway--as I said earlier, there's no Dark-type gym in existence, and the only other Ghost-type gym is owned by Fantina, who is more likely to have Yamiko as an assistant (haha, Lupin's not a dancer xD).
And yes, I do prefer to call my character Lupin; it's a better-sounding name than Edwin anyway. I figured I'd include his real name because that's the name that appears on his records. You gotta admit, a nickname is a good supplement for going in disguise.
But thanks for accepting me though. ^_^ This is why Lupin is my "trump card" for RPG signups. He's also my favourite character to RP, so you won't find me dropping out due to lack of interest!
Oh, and I didn't know that the starters could only be from Kanto or Johto... I guess I just got lucky when I picked Misdreavus. (Phew, I was almost considering Shuppet, but then I remembered that Lupin had a Misdreavus in the very first RPG he was in.)
Huh, it seems that all spots are taken/reserved now. Great, that means once the reserving people post their signups, we can start this RPG!
Appearance: Ventus satnds at 5'6" and weighs in at a lean 170 pounds. He looks kinda skinny, but his strength quickly shows that he is much stronger than he appears. Due to him being an outdoorsman, his skin is a very dark tan. This only makes his emerald green eyes stand out that much more. His light green t-shirt is kinda baggy on him, as are his blue jeans. The converses he wears are a sky blue color, the same color his hair is. The bracelet he wears on his left wrist is a simple silver chain. This is different for the bracelet on his right wrist. That one is made out of threads of various shades of green, blue, and white. They are connected by a simple knot.
Personality: Ventus is a very calm individual who likes to keep things calm and cool. He is very laid back, which has made him many friends. Some people think he is lazy though. This is not the case, however. You will find no one who is more focused in any situation. This guy was a scholar before he became a trainer, and he knows that in order to do your best, you have to have a cool head. That is what he goes by. This guy does have a temper though. If you aggravate him, ask him to do to many things at once, hurt Pokemon, or make fun of his hair, get ready to get your butt kicked from one place to another. When he is calm, he is a people person. When he is mad, get away from him and don't look back.
History: Ventus was born in Violet City, Johto. He showed great promise in being a great trainer at the age of six, when he used his brother's Pidgeotto to beat a Skarmory. While he showed great promise in being a trainer, he wanted to become a scholar, much like his grandfather, who was travelling in Sinnoh at the time. So, he continued in his studies, learning various things about Pokemon, people, and amny other things. This all changed a few days after he graduated from high school. Ventus had been walking along in the woods when he noticed a young man having difficulties throwing a Pokeball at a Hoothoot he had weakened. Ventus, thinking he could help the young man, asked the man if he could throw it and catch it for him. The young man agreed to this and gave Ventus the Pokeball, who expertly hit the mark right on the button on his first try. After it wiggled three times, the ball stopped and let out a "click" sound, indicating the Hoothootwas caught. The young man picked the ball up, saying he had caught the Hoothoot. This was not the case. The ball flew to Ventus the moment the young man said he had caught it. This made the young man mad, and he stormed off deeper into the forest. Afterall, he had weakened the Hoothoot. Ventus, at first, didn't know what to do, so he kept the Hoothoot and started training it. He quickly became close to the owl Pokemon and found out the Hoothoot behaved much like him. He was calm, laid-back, and smart. It, however, did not have a temper, unlike Ventus. After several months of training, Ventus started training with Falkner, who he became quickly close to.
Reason you were chosen: Ventus was chosen because of his love of Pokemon, his ability to be calm in any situation, and he was the person that Falkner trusted the most. Ventus took every piece of advice Falkner gave him and built upon them. None of Falkner's other trainers could even go up against Ventus, due to his ability to make stradegies on the spot. After some time thinking about this, Falkner finally asked Ventus if he would be his assisstant. To say the least, Ventus said yes, and he has never looked back ever since.
RP Sample:
I know i'm in, but I want to do this anyway.
"A rather intense training session, wouldn't you agree?" asked Falkner as he and his Pidgeot sat down next to Ventus and his Hoothoot. "I do agree," said Ventus as he and his Hoothoot started catching their breath. The agility training was torture for him and Hoothoot. Ventus knew he didn't have to do it, but he wanted to feel what Hoothoot was feeling.
"Ventus," began Falkner as he reached over to a cooler and gave Hoothoot and Pidgeot some Freshwater specially made so that bird Pokemon could drink from the bottles. He then grabbed a Lemonade for him and Ventus, who quickly opened the drink and started chugging it down. "You are truly amazing. I'm positive you will surpass me one day."
Ventus, shocked by this, almost spilled his drink. Did Falkner really say what he said?
"Sensei, there is no way I can do that. You are the master of the skies. I come nowhere close to your ability," said Ventus as he looked at his teacher, and best friend.
"Ventus, I know you will surly surpass me. You will take back Violet City. Heck, you will make trainers go there last instead of Blackthorn," said Falkner as he took a sip from his drink. Ventus didn't know what to say. Here he was, exhausted from training, and his teacher was telling him that his student would one day surpass him? There is no way.
"Falkner, I appreciate all you have done for me, making me your apprentice and all, but I can't be mentioned in the same light as you."
"Yes you can," said Falkner as he stood up and whistled, calling his Pidgeot to attention.
"Ready to start your next training session?" asked Falkner as he got in his battle stance. Ventus immediately stood up, and Hoothoot flew into the air with impressive speed.
"I am always ready. Hoothoot, let's do this!"
"Hoot hoot!" shouted Hoothoot as he started flying circles around Pidgeot. Pidgeot seemed to giggle at Hoothoot. It seemed like he knew what was coming.
"Time for strength training. Ventus, you must have Hoothoot go through Pidgeot's Gust attack and touch Pidgeot. All you have to do is touch him, not attack him. I will start when you and Hoothoot are ready," said Falkner as he got behind his Pidgeot, whose wings were spread wide, getting ready to start.
"Hoothoot, let's do this together," said Ventus as he got in a running stance, while Hoothoot stayed in his position in the air. "Hoohoot!" he shouted, indicating he was ready. "We are ready!" shouted Ventus as he braced himself.
"Pidgeot, use Gust, and be sure to keep it going. Do not stop until Hoothoot touches you," said Falkner as Pidgeot started flapping its wings at high speed immediately. Unfortunately for Ventus and Hoothoot, this sent them both into the wall. "That...was...unexpected," said Ventus as he regained himself while Hoothoot did the same. "Hoothoo?" asked Hoothoot as he started flying against the wind. He was making progress, but it was very slow progress. Ventus did his best and fought against the wind. He was making just as much progress as Hoothoot was. "I don't know that yet," said Ventus as he kept pushing through. The only thing he knew right now was that if Hoothoot and him stopped, they would be sent into the wall again.
Ten minutes later...
Ventus and Hoothoot haven't even made it half-way to Pidgeot. The closer they got to Pidgeot, the stronger the wind became. Ventus knew if he didn't figure out something soon, he and Hoothoot would faint from exhaustion, and that was the last thing he wanted. He needed to do something, and fast!
That was when it hit Ventus. Hoothoot knew Tackle. He knew Hoothoot couldn't hit Pidgeot, but maybe Hoothoot could make a barrier of sorts... This was Ventus's and Hoothoot's only hope.
"Hoothoot, use Tackle, but fly in between them," said Ventus as he watched Hoothootb immediately start doing what Ventus asked him. Once the extra speed was gone, Hoothoot would fly and do the Tackle once more. Within a matter of five minutes, Hoothoot finally made it to Pidgeot, who got touched by Hoothoot's right wing. This caused Pidgeot to stop right then. As soon as he stopped, both Hoothoot and Ventus fell to the ground, exhausted.
I'm sorry, but this rp just took off wayyy too fast for me. XD Unfortunately I'm going to have to withdrew. Of course, now I feel horrible because Ninetales wanted to sign up for the wild card... there's nothing I can do. I was out until 8 tonight and am going out till late tomorrow doing things for school, then the next day I have a soccer game after school and one on saturday too... and I really don't want to keep you guys waiting, especially if all the spots except for those reserved are filled. Again, I'm very sorry. :(
Name: Helena Gray Age: 15 Apprentice: Flannery's Starter: Chimchar (Voldemort) Appearance: At first sight Helena might look like a little angel. She's small for her age, not being any bigger than 5'3. She is also very thin with long and slender limbs. Puberty has been very kind to her through the years, her skin has never had severe attacks of acne and her body has developed some nice curves.
Her face itself is a bit on the small side. She has a true doll-face complete with a button nose. Her eyes are a bit on the big side, being one of the rare things about her that is big. They're very light gray, there is no almost no blue to be found in the iris. Even though she is blonde her eyebrows and eyelashes are a light shade of brown.
As just mentioned her hair is blonde. Her locks are honey blonde in colour and her hair is very thin and wavy. Her bangs are straight but very thin, not the thick kind that covers her entire forehead. There are just a few strands on her forehead, usually pushed aside a bit. The rest of her hair grows to a few cm over shoulder length. It starts more straight but the longer it goes the more heavy the waves get. She sometimes ties her hair into two ponytails over her shoulders and other times she just lets it go. There is always a bit of hair over her shoulder, it never likes to stay completely on her back.
Helena likes to dress in a girly matter. She likes puffy blouses and dresses. Her ordinary outfit consists of a bright orange tanktop with hibiscus flowers printed on it. Over that she wears a loose white blouse with puffy sleeves and buttons. Depending on the weather it is either open completely, somewhat buttoned or completely buttoned up. The blouse itself is slightly see-through so there will always be some orange showing through.
Under that she wears light grey shorts, showing quite some of her skinny legs. They are made out of denim material with some white fading. It has some loose threading and is quite worn, but it's her favourite pair of shorts.
Also with her, in her bag, is a short and dark denim skirt and a bright red sweated made out of wool with a wide boat neck. Along with those two pieces of clothing is a large blue shirt that almost comes down to her knees that she uses as pyjamas and a white and black two-piece swimsuit.
On her feet she normally wears teal low top Converse for comfort. Also stiffed inside her bag is a pair of comfortable black ballet flats with a single strap over the foot.
This infamous bag is a stylish brown and tan messenger bag. She keeps all her stuff in this and is completely in love with it. One of its best features is that you can choose to drape it across the shoulders or just on one side. It has a multitude of pockets sewn all over the place, made by Helen herself, because she didn't think it had enough. These pockets are made of bright colours and totally not match the actual colours of the bag, but it just makes her love it even more.
Accessory wise Helena doesn't wear that much. She sometimes chooses to wear an orange headband in her hair to keep it out of the way when it's not tied. When it is tied, she wears bright red ribbons around the bundle of hair, tied in a neat bow. There's also a rhinestone necklace in the shape of a snowflake that is almost always tied on her neck. Above that is an orange ribbon with a little silver bell on it that is tied almost like a choker.
Personality: Helena, at first glance, seems to be a little doll. She's somewhat happy-go-lucky in her own way, her default expression being a smile. But she's got a temper worth mentioning. She likes to joke and tease people and make them smile. She's quite ditzy, seeing her trip over something as trivial as a little branch is not an uncommon sight. This leaves her to have a special little red pocket sewn onto her bag especially for band-aids and the like. No really, she needs it. She has bundles of energy, and these bundles will always find a way to bubble to the surface. She rushes into things without thinking because of this, and is often seen getting herself into trouble by running after things she shouldn't run after.
She can also be a bit clingy. If Helena finds someone that she really likes, she'll follow them until they tire her and then she goes off into another direction. She's really a bit childish sometimes, and should definitely be more careful with a lot of the things she does. She has one of those mentalities that a lot of teenagers have, that nothing could possibly really harm them. She doesn't see why some things are dangerous at all, while someone else might be 'duuuur' about it.
Helena is definitely easily angered. She is especially easy to take something to the offense, and then quickly becomes agitated. When she is mad, her reaction has a great range of possibility, depending on the person, what they did and how much she really dislikes them. She could simply ignore them, shoot them down with every opportunity or start a full-out swear-war. And you really don't want the last one. When things start going wrong, when things start to get out of her hands, she'll become even more irritated. She'll just be in a bad mood, because she hates it when things stop being predictable. She's a bit OCD like that. She needs things to be predictable, to be in hand. When they get out of hand, she gets agitated and annoyed and even a little scared. Really, though, she's a control freak.
When describing Helena, prideful is definitely a word you want to use. She has great pride, and she hates lowering herself. She doesn't like apologizing for something she did wrong, and will not often do so. She would much rather just keep looking for outings and reasons why, in the end, she was right anyway. Hurting her pride would get you a one-way ticket to the black list inside her head. Lucky that grudges really aren't her thing, or you'd really be screwed.
Battle-wise, the little doll with a temper turns serious. Helena likes to go straight on, like she does with everything. There isn't often room in her strategies for non-damaging moves, she would much rather just go ahead and attack. This is also her weakest point, something she must still learn. Overall Helena is a girl that looks very carefree and simple on the outside, but actually hides many a layer. One for her temper, one for her control issues, one for her pride and there will always be more. For someone who doesn't like things to be unpredictable, she's very unpredictable herself.
History: Helena grew up in the quiet little town of Lavaridge. The town itself was very hard to reach, so there weren't many people living there, and tourism was pretty much dead except for the trainers that came to the gyms. She was born to a family of 5, having an older brother, twin brother and younger sister, her parents ran a small inn right by the hot springs that didn't really attract a whole lot of clientele. But they got by enough, even if the kids had to help out daily with the chores.
Helena had always been the angel of the family, with her golden hair and adoring smile, especially as a child. She loved her big brother Edgar, was almost the same person as her twin Paris, even though they weren't identical twins at all. She didn't really like her younger sister, Aria, though, feeling slightly jealous for the baby that got all the special attention now, but she tolerated her. These early years of her life were the best.
With the coming of the Gym, the life in the town got a lot busier. Suddenly costumers from all over the region wanted to stay at the Black Duck Inn to enjoy the incredible hot springs, business was going very well. Suddenly there were far more people than there were rooms, which called for renovations and additions. The small family business suddenly grew into a huge booming business. Actual staff was hired and the children didn't need to help anymore. They found themselves with way too much free time.
Edgar decided to become an actual employee in the inn and help out full-time, since he graduated school and had little interest in Pokémon, unless they helped him cook today's meal. Helena and Paris found that they didn't know what to do after school now. And that was when they heard about Flannery looking for apprentices to train. Flannery was new to gym leading then and she had no one to train, but she did know that leaders usually had apprentices. Helena was definitely interested and dragged a doubting Paris with her to the gym to apply. They were both eleven then, but got accepted without much ado.
Paris soon showed himself to be an adept trainer, he had natural talent for strategies and he instinctively knew what the weakness of certain Pokémon were. Helena had a much harder time. She always used offensive techniques and hit spots that the opponent was practically immune to. She felt more and more like a failure while Flannery really wondered if anything would ever become of her. The leader set up private training with both her and her brother, trying to get Helena to learn from her brother's successes. Slowly but surely she got better, but it was very slowly. She still didn't have her own Pokémon though, she just used the gym's stored ones. Flannery really didn't think that it would be a good idea for her to get one yet.
Then came both Helena's and Paris' fourteenth birthday, the day Paris received his own Pokémon, but Helena didn't. She had been hopeful, Helena had made a lot of progress, she had somewhat learned the uses of defensive moves and the likes. She had even managed to look at a Pokémon and guess where it's weak point would be. Now, guesses weren't always right, but it was more than what she used to do, blindly make her Pokémon attack random points. So while Paris received his brand spanking new Houndour, Helena received an little white and red premier ball. Flannery explained that when the time came, she would receive her first Pokémon in that ball, and put it on a shelf in the gym.
Another year came and went. Paris went out to catch some new Pokémon and challenge gyms while Helena stayed in Lavaridge and trained as hard as she could in the Gym. A few days before her birthday Paris came back, having travelled through Hoenn and picked up 5 badges before he failed to defeat Winona and had come back. He had an impressive team now, the powerhouse being his enormous Houndoom, even though it was closer to a tame Growlithe in personality. He also had a Kirlia and a Dewgong to add to his team. Helena had mixed emotions over his return, she had loved to see him again, but also she felt jealous. He came with wonderful stories and with shiny badges and finds, while Helena came only with some tellings of how her training was going better, and how she was progressing. Her birthday came, and she eagerly visited Flannery again, but once again she only got that same Ball.
Agitated about this, Helena marched out of the Gym and headed for the mountain. She climbed up over the steep ridges for a bit before getting so tired she couldn't go further. She sat there, panting, and when she had cooled down a bit, and went to climb back, she got a fright trip. Looking over the edge she saw that it was very steep, more so than it had seemed coming up. She panicked and curled up on her ridge, waiting for someone to notice where she had gone. The night was falling and it was getting really warm, she was shivering when a sound come from down the mountain. Her brother was calling her name.
She called back frantically, and before she knew it his Houndoom was there to help her down. With the Pokémon's help she got down safely and got home. The little trip had caused her to feel the wrath of a worried parent, and a very nasty illness called the flu. She couldn't go down to the gym for two weeks, where she was both sick and grounded. When she did return, she found Flannery in a frenzy. She was talking to her oldest brother about something she didn't fully understand. Something about Hoenn not helping Johto out when their need was greatest. And then a mixture of angry swearing, calling people cowards and some more of that dramatic stuff. This was when Helena decided she could wait one more day to come back. Angry Flannery frightened her.
The next few days went as they always had, until that time when Flannery took Helena aside. She explained to her in a heated manner about the condition of Johto. She had been contacted by someone about the resistance and their plans, had talked about it with other leaders here, but they had refused saying that they needed their trainers by their side in this war. Some more angry comments ensued, but she then came back to the real deal. Helena was to travel to Johto as unnoticed as possible. She was to take the Rocket challenge, and help to take them out with the other ones chosen by the Johto gyms. And also, to Helena's delight, Flannery produced the little white and red ball, and released a little fire-monkey. Helena already loved him and affectionately called him Voldemort.
Reason you were chosen: Flannery would never tell Helena this, but the reason she was chosen to go was because Paris declined. She had asked him to go at first, but he didn't think it to be a good idea, and wanted to stay here. Helena, no matter her flaws, was honest and knew where her heart lay. Flannery knew there was very little chance that the girl would actually join Team Rocket was she given the chance, and it was also a chance for her to learn. Since Helena was also the one who has stayed in her Gym the longest, Flannery knows her through and through, and she is the one, besides Paris, that she trusts most.
Extra: Helena tends to have an unhealthy obsession with literature. This shows in her naming her Pokémon like characters of books, and maybe in a bit of an unusual matter. She wasn't kidding when she named Chimchar Voldemort. Not at all.
RP Sample, or Introduction:
Spoiler:
When Annabelle entered the city she was still pumped with energy from her first victory. Still limping, but it was an energetic limp... If something like that existed anyway. She was almost jumping up and down when she saw he gym, except that after one jump she almost stumbled, feeling the bruise on her shin throb, and she quickly stopped.
Everywhere she looked there were little notes and signs saying anti-hacking messages. Some had pro-creation messages and there were even little inconspicuous stickers everywhere saying nasty things about hacked Pokemon, even going as far as calling them abominations. There was no doubt where these people stood. Annabelle stuck her tongue out at a specific sticker on a teenager's hat saying "My natural Zubat will kick your hacked Charizard's ass." This got her several glares from passerby's. Yeah right his Zubat will kick a Charizard's ass, said Charizard only needs a hacked Thunder and mr. Natural is out, she thought. Well actually she hadn't thought it, she's said it out loud.
"You got something against naturals?!" The boy spat at her aggressively. "I bet you're one of those hackers, going against the great Arceus' creations!" Did this dude come straight out of the scripture or something? God, how people taught their children these days.
Yeah, so what? Hacking is perfectly natural, why else would the great Arceus have made it possible? This is what she would have loved to say, preferably in a challenging and slightly sarcastic way. Of course, this isn't what she said, not close. Instead she murmered an "I am" and tried to walk past but the boy blocked her way.
"Speak up, I think the whole town should know what criminal you really are. You're a freak, altering the natural formula of an organism to suit your selfish needs. A criminal against mother nature!" He spat on the ground with that last statement and it was obvious he wasn't going to step away. People were stopping to look now, some glaring at her, some spitting at the ground after the boy and some just curious to see the fight.
"Yes, I'm a hacker," Annabelle said a little louder this time. "Could I pass now?" The boy grinned maliciously at this, and a few snickers went through his backup. Other teens were now standing behind the guy, arms crossed, he got himself a possy. Annabelle was starting to feel nervous, but she knew what was coming.
"A battle, my completely natural Pokemon against your abomination. One on one, no rules, we fight until one falls unconscious." A streetfight, she got challenged to a no-rule streetfight. She wanted to back away and just go to the Center as she wanted to, but there really wasn't a choice. So she released Khione and prayed for the best.
The little Snorunt was entirely ready for the battle, or so she seemed. She looked quite pumped and glared at the boy. Speaking of which, he released his own Pokemon, which ironically appeared to be a Zubat. The thing frantically flapped its wings to stay in the air.
"Depp, use astonish," was the first command the guy issued. Zubat flew more quickly than Annabelle would have thought it could. One moment it was in front of Khione, and the other it was behind. Once there it released a dark beam that hot Khione spot on and propelled her forward. The guy laughed at this merrily. "See how nature kicks the freak's ass!" Some cheers of approval from the surrounding people.
"Khione, strike back with a double team followed by powder snow!" Annabelle called and the snorunt obeyed. Khione multiplied herself in 5 copies surrounding Zubat. The Zubat really had no idea which direction to look at, the 6 Khione's all readied themselves to fire blasts of snow at each other. But apparently mr. No Name had something for everything.
"Oh this is easy, Depp use supersonic." His arrogance annoyed Annabelle, but there wasn't anything she could do. Zubat omitted a sound that couldn't be heard by human ears, but each of the Khione's cringed and then started acted strange. The sound had confused them and they were firing snow everywhere. Thing is, no one knew which beam of powder snow was the real one. Zubat was trying to dodge each of them and stay out of the way for the random blasts, but it got hit by a few of them which each seemed to hurt it a great deal.
But Khione was the one that really got screwed over. Copy after copy disappeared by the real Khione's beams, while the real one was sending beams everywhere. People that had been surrounding the pair had backed away to make room for the snow, none of them wanted to be caught in it. There was snow on nearby bushes and houses and the ground was full of it. In the end the frenzied Snorunt ran itself into a tree and fell out of the confusion. It left her panting and weak.
"Depp, to finish this one off, use astonish coupled with a leech life after," some supportive noises came from the audience again. Annabelle called out to Khione for her to dodge this attack, but the Zubat had already moved behind Khione and issued the first attack. This astonish left Khione flinched and unable to do anything while Zubat sank its teech into the orange triangle that was the Pokemon, and visibly sucked the life out of her. Khione's panting got deeper and she looked weaker by the second while Zubat regained the energy it had lost. When Zubat broke contact Khione fell down fainted while Zubat looked like it hadn't even battled yet. Loud cheers erupted all around her.
"My name's Tjeerd, remember it for I will see you again and kick that ass of yours every time, duckling!" The guy, apparently named Tjeerd, called after her. While Annabelle recalled Khione with embarrassment she broke through the crowd, which parted for her while flinging insults. "See what nature does the the freaks you people create?!" Tjeerd called after her, and she could imagine the grin on his face. She hurried away from the scene and practically ran into the Center.
"Nurse! I'd like to get my Snorunt healed!" She told the smiling nurse after the counted, while panting from the running. The woman kindly took her fainted Pokemon while Annabelle seated herself in a corner, still feeling embarrassed from her loss. How long would it take for Tjeerd and his little gang to have told everyone in town? How long until everyone jeered at her? Until even the nurse behind the counter would refuse to heal her Pokemon? She had been planning to maybe try and update Khione a bit using the Center's computer, but that option was out now. All she could do is wait for Khi to be done soon, challenge the gym and get out of here as soon as possible.
Guys, I just moved, and I don't have internet yet. I hope we can start this Rp this weekend, so please don't lose hopes in it. If it is neccesary I will go to an internet café on Sunday in order to get this started, so get your applications in and, well keep checking :D I will not be reading all your applications for people that were reserved, I will do so this weekend, or hopefully tomorrow.
Name: Anna Silverman Age: 16 Apprentice: Jasmine Starter: Skarmory Appearance: Anna is a fairly tall girl, standing in at around 5 foot and 10 inches. She has slightly tanned skin and some muscles under the skin. She has auburn, shoulder lenght hair that frames her oval face. Her eyes are of an amber color. Anna has a faded scar on the side of her neck and her nose is slightly crooked above her thin mouth.
Anna likes to wear a black tank top with an outline of a bird on it. Over top of that she wears a wool grey vest with some black designs of Pokeballs on the front and back. She also wears grey long shorts with a black strip going down the sides. She also has black shoes with silver designs on them. For her accessories, she has two black wrist sweat bands and a long necklace in the shape of a Steelix. Personality: Anna is very quiet and usually doesn't say much unless she has to, and even then. She tends to just like to sit back and watch other people go about their lives. This also reflects in her battling, as she is almost never the first on to make the first move, instead having her opponent do so. That way, Anna can see what kind of strategy they like to use. She is also quite resilient and very few things bother her. Though if something does, Anna makes sure that she can do something to change it. Anna also likes to be distant from people, though she will get close to someone if she has to. History: Anna was born in Pallet Town, but her parents moved to Olivine city back when Johto was still quite peaceful. As she grew up, Anna saw how Team Rocket was taking over to the region and hated every second of it, but she didn't know what to do. She really hated it when her father joined the evil organization, but didn't let him know that. Though, luckily, this gave him permission to help and train her in Pokémon battling. Of course, with each training session, he made it clear that he was doing this so that she would be able to help out Team Rocket when she was older. Just when she thought that her destiny was doom to the hands of Team Rocket, she gets a call from the ex-Gym leader of Cianwood that changes everything… Reason you were chosen: Anna was picked because of her ability to be able to read a situation before her and for her hatred of Team Rocket. Though her family would most likely be against it, Jasmine knows that her resilient nature will help Anna in coping with what's happening around her.
Game Over: Since Luigi-a took the wild card, and your sign up is good, I will accept you.
Luigi-a: The ???? is from an outside gym, from either kanto, hoenn, or sinnoh. Even if you are in kanto, you can still use sinnoh pokemon etc.
Charzeon: Cianwood? Can you please reference a bit more to Jasmine and Olivine? It is kind of hard to understand your history... Once you do that tough, you're on board :D
Proddit: Alright, you're in :D
No time to do colors and bolds, soz people.
Again, the rp will start this weekend, and hopefully I will have a connection by then... Otherwise I will have to do it at school on monday, or somewhere at an internet cafe...
