Okay guys I have a poll for you (exciting I know) :) It's not an actual poll, because I dont know how to set those up in an already active thread lol.

It relates to the pokemon league, and how it will be run. I'll be doing a few polls over the next few weeks to let you guys let me know how you think it should be run. I've got a few ideas, but I don't know which would be best. Also if you have any ideas let me know.

So to the first poll... and its a very simple one. How long should the league be? I've already decided on an anime style tournament rather than an elit 4 game type challenge. The question is how many rounds should the tournament have?

The first option is to follow the anime Kanto Pokemon League Tournament structure. This involved qualifying round in which participants had matches on each of 4 different types of field (Water, Rock, Ice, Grass). Once they had won each of these, the knock out rounds began. These were Round 2, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, Final. Battles are 3 on 3 until the Quarter Finals, then are 6 on 6. This means 8 rounds and 256 competitors. This is my preferred way of doing it, but my worry is it would take too long? any thoughts?

My next option is a straight knock out, this means 5 rounds and 32 competitors. This lacks the diversity of field of the original option, and could get repetitive.

And then any variation on them. The main question here is do you think the full blown anime style tourney would take too long to do? Let me know...

It would be better and wouldn't take as long to just do it like the games with the Elite Four and the champion. The champion for each person being the rival you gave each of us when we signed up.

Also about my battle with the Pidgey I think you should knock off a level, cause I just noticed I used Thunder Wave and Sparky doesn't know that yet. As much as I'd love Pidgey at level 9 I think I should be punished for having Sparky use Thunder Wave.

I think its under thread tools at the top of the thread :D

You could always invent your own system for the league...Maybe start with, say four groups and have the playing fields in those. Four matches per group, use a system of points and top scorer goes through. Then you can go straight to semis and still keep the diversity :D

@konekodemon - Theres only ever one champ, so can't really do an elite 4 and champ scenario... so anime style league structure seems the best way forward to me.

@Screw the rules... - The only problem I have with that method is I have to play every battle including non RPer battles to include a points system. Again not a big fan of this as it seems time consuming... lol

update - King! has replaced Goodies in the RP

Personally, I like the previous system that I told you about.

The one where they do a joint post, battle, then leave it at a cliffhanger end, like a capture post, where either hit could end it. You read it, then decide who wins. I see this as the only workable way, personally. I don't like the e-4 style. I've always found it...odd.

Anyway, I saw the Goodies thing coming. He's obsessed, I tell you. Anyway, yeah. King joined early...I gave him until this summer. Anyway, yeah. So there's not much time left...how will King and Koneko get to the league with the rules you gave, saying they have one week after we're done?

No, no buddying in the Pokemon League, otherwise only one person will be able to win

Okay everyone, I've decided to go for a full blown anime style league thing... full 8 rounds of it. This is what I've wanted to do since the start of the RP (I think its mention somewhere on about page 2 or 3 lol), so I'm just going to do ity. The league will require prompt posting from everyone or it will really drag on. As it will be during the summer, I hope this will not be a problem...

@Sasuneuchiha - So League gets your vote. That makes it 2 to one. And I prefer the League, so yeah thats the way we're going to go...

@Konekodemon - Yeah thats kind of the point. Not everyone is going to win, that just seems far too Mary Sue-ish for my liking.

Okay next item of business... how the hell do we get the league to work? Again a few options I can think of to discuss. Basically the only problem that will arise is when RPers battle each other. There are a couple of options to try and solve this.

First option is basically to let you sort the battle out between you via PM's. However, if previous battles are anything to go by, this will take a long time. Also deciding a winner for the semi final, or final battle will be very difficult and will probably end up with the two RPers coming to me.

The second option is also very long winded, but perhaps the most workable? Basically it involves bost RPers in the battle PMing their version of winning the battle to me, I will then read both versions of the battle and judge which is more realistic and enjoyable to read. I will then post the winning battle into the thread and the two RPers do some reactions stuff and the losing trainer sends out a new pokemon and the process repeats. This adds some tension and drama on your side and could add to the feel of a tournament?

Again give me your thoughts on the above options, and any other ideas you may have...

@Screw The Rules I Have Green Hair - I think it would have to be pokemon by pokemon, as you wouldnt know which pokemon had won until I posted it in the thread

EXactly! Second one works.....

EDIT!

Name: Jasper Otz

Age: 14

Gender: Male

Appearance: Jasper has messy, dirty-blonde hair, that sticks out all over the place and sometimes looks like an explosion. He has an oval shaped head, and his eyes are big, and a jasper color( Jas per is an opaque quartz, often reddish, yellowish, or brownish in color) They are the part of his face that draws the most attention. His nose and mouth are small, almost half the size of his eyes. He is tall for his age, about 5'9, and has a skinny, and scrawny build. His skin is pale and white, but it is very smooth. His arms go down to just under his bottom( you know) and his hands and feet are small. His chest is set high, and the things that make him tall are his long legs.
Generally, the first glimpse at Jasper, would show you a boy in a hoodie, and dark jeans. Looking closer, you'd notice that his hoodie is a solid color, one for every different day of the week( he wears a different colored hoodie each day) The colors of his hoodie are: Red; Orange; Yellow; Green; Light Blue; White; and Pink. He usually wears the hoodie half zipped, and with the hood pulled up. Underneath the hoodie, he wears either a black or white t-shirt. The design an the hoodie, is a sketched-looking, opening pokeball. His jeans are a dark blue color, and are badly ripped at the cuffs. He wears black and white, worn-out, converse shoes: For his Formal Attire, Jasper doesn't where anything too fancy. All he wears is a plain black tuxedo, with the normal white underneath, black tie, and black dressing shoes. In the cold, Jasper wheres the same shoes and pants, but wears two hoodies, with both hoods pulled up instead. When it's real cold, he'll throw on a pair of green, leather gloves.
He also has another important accesory, a silver backpack with the same sketched pokeball. Jasper wears two orange braclets(not real jewelrey) that say the words courage and truthful on them.

Personality: Jasper's a fairly nice guy. He gets along very well with others. He is very kind to all he meets, especially new people and pokemon. Underneath all of this kindness, though, he is actually rather insecure. He was abandoned at birth and adopted by a kind family. He grew up most of his life without knowing this, and learned it at age 12. His foster parents refused to let him go on a pokemon adventure, but learning of his past just fueled him to do this more. Jasper likes to be with people, but alone, he often tries to remember his family and why they left him. And if he'll ever see them again. Despite all this, he has a very positive outlook on life.

History: Jasper was abandoned roughly 3 weeks after his birth. He was adopted by a kind family who sent him to school as soon as he was old enough. Through this, Jasper gained a very good education and knowledge of pokemon. Then, at age 10, he started helping around the house and around town. The goal of this was to make him the perfect citizen and eventually the mayor of pallet town, like his foster father. This continued for years, as Jasper learned many things about Pallet and pokemon in general. This is because Professor Oak and Professor Maple often wanted him for errends. To pay him for his help, they taught him about pokemon. Over time, he grew very attatched to Professor Maple and her lab. Eventually, when he was told of his parentage, he rejected that reality and ran away. To professor maple, who gave him a pokemon to travel with. To find his real parents. And that is how Jasper came to be how he is today.

Starter: Vulpix

I knew that! Heh heh he....um....yeeaahh....

Also, on the front page you put Jacob Otz. xD

Didn't those options come from me? I know the first did when we were discussing this before. Ah well. That system works, though I think it might take a little longer. It'd actually be much better in my opinion, other than the fact that we'd end up bunnying...

Also, welcome to the RP, King!!

@Sasuneuchiha - Yeah the first option was your idea, but I couldnt come up with two options... so meh :P I'm guessing by 'that system' you mean the second one?
