I have a friend who has play the game since the 3rd generation and he has asked for help getting back to the game and teaching him how much the game has changed since the last generation,

So he has finally made his first team, and since he doesn't have an account here I took the liberty of posting it for him

Be honest with your rates, the poor bastard could REALLY use the advice and critics

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Forretress
    Item: Leftovers
    Nature: Relaxed
    EV: 250 HP, 101 Atk, 150 Def

    ~Explosion
    ~Gyro Ball
    ~Rapid Spin
    ~Toxic Spikes

The Lead of the team, according to him. Able to set his own hazards while at the same time blowing away the enemies.

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Dragonite
    Item: Choice Specs
    Nature:Mild
    EV:60 ATK, 195 Spd, 252 SP. Atk

    ~Dragon Dance
    ~Flamethrower
    ~Thunderbolt
    ~Outrage

    The Revenge Killer/Mixed Sweeper .
Switched Ice Beam for Thunderbolt, to help get rid of other Dragons except for Garchomp and Flygon. Not only that but it provides decent coverage.

    Milotic
    Item: Leftovers
    Nature: Bold
    EV: 10 HP, 200Spd, 200 SP.Atk, 100 SP.Def

    ~Surf
    ~Light Screen
    ~Toxic
    ~Recover

The Special Wall of the team along with alittle hindering with Toxic, my friend chose Milotic, mainly b/c of it's looks and his history with her.......

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Tyranitar
    Item: Leftovers
    Nature: Brave
EV: 250 HP, 50 ATK, 35 Spd, 175 SP. ATK

    ~ Substitute
    ~ Focus Punch
    ~Dark Pulse
    ~ Flamethrower

Used mainly to force switches in the opposing team, giving him time to set up Subs and attack while hiding behind the the doll. Chose Dark Pulse over Crunch since it said to have a better chance at breaking walls.

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Weavile
    Item: Focus Sash
    Nature: Jolly
    EV: 40 HP, 252 SP.Atk, 216 SPd

    ~Pursuit
    ~Ice Shard
    ~Brick Break
    ~Night Slash

The main Revenge Killer of the team, chose Ice Shard over Ice Beam, since its a better choice for some Dragons and Pursuit can OHKO Starmie and Brick Break OHKOs Tyranitars

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Alakazam
    Item: Choice Specs
    Nature: Timid
    EV: 200SP.Atk, 250Spd, 10 Sp.Def

    ~Focus Blast
    ~Psychic
    ~Trick
    ~Signal beam

A special force of the team, With Trick and Choice Specs, used to cripple and restrain the opponent with Signal Beam getting rid of its counters and Focus Blast against Tyranitars and Psychic as the STAB

Again this isn't a team that I made, this for a friend

I'm trying to help him show him how much the game has changed, so plz help me help him and give your honest advice and critics, thx

    ~Explosion
    ~Gyro Ball
    ~Rapid Spin
    ~Toxic Spikes

Really bad lead IMO, doesn't get a chance to set up anything with stuff running around with Fire moves to hit Bronzong. =\

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Dragonite
    Item: Choice Specs
    Nature:Mild
    EV:60 ATK, 195 Spd, 252 SP. Atk

    ~Dragon Dance
    ~Flamethrower
    ~Thunderbolt
    ~Outrage

I wouldn't say this is a revenge killer, it really isn't all that fast. =\ I would NEVER use a non-damaging move on a Choice set. ._. What is Outrage for on a Specs set? Definitely NEED Draco Meteor for almost any Dragon that is running a Specs set. Use this set:

    Dragonite @ Choice Specs
    Ability: Inner Focus
    Nature: Mild
    EVs: 60 Atk / 252 SpA / 196 Spe
    - Draco Meteor
    - Dragon Pulse / Thunderbolt
    - Flamethrower
    - Focus Punch / Superpower

Focus Punch/Superpower depends on your playing style. Still this somewhat outclassed by SpecsMence or SpecsLatias (although Nite has sturdier defenses, and can hit Blissey with Focus Punch, but Latias can Trick her Specs though).

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Milotic
    Item: Leftovers
    Nature: Bold
    EV: 10 HP, 200Spd, 200 SP.Atk, 100 SP.Def

    ~Surf
    ~Light Screen
    ~Toxic
    ~Recover

Milotic is a very poor special wall, it loses to almost every single special sweeper. ._. Could use 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD w/ Calm Nature, she can survive a Nasty Plotted Grass Knot from Infernape, but will then be 2HKOed by Close Combat. >_> Use Blissey for special sponging, or turn this into a physical wall.

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Tyranitar
    Item: Leftovers
    Nature: Quiet
    EV: 252 HP / 52 Atk / 176 SpA / 28 Spe

    ~ Substitute
    ~ Focus Punch
    ~Dark Pulse
    ~ Flamethrower

Those EVs are really weird... Go 252 HP / 52 Atk / 176 SpA / 28 Spe, these are divisible by 4, and go Quiet Nature if you are using Dark Pulse>>Crunch.

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Weavile
    Item: Choice Band
    Nature: Jolly
    EV: 40 HP, 252 SP.Atk, 216 SPd

    ~Pursuit
    ~Ice Shard
    ~Brick Break
    ~Ice Punch

Don't EVER put Focus Sash on any Pokemon other than a lead, Stealth Rock just negates it entirely (it won't work). Slap a Choice Band on Weavile, and consider using Ice Punch>>Night Slash.

    [PokeCommunity.com] A new team, for a friend

    Alakazam
    Item: Choice Specs
    Nature: Timid
    EV: 200SP.Atk, 250Spd, 10 Sp.Def

    ~Focus Blast
    ~Psychic
    ~Trick
    ~Signal beam

This is a bit useless with Scizor being #1 on usage in OU, this will be Pursuited easily... =( If you keep it, what are the EVs in SpD for? Lol, just do 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe.
    Comments in bold.

No glaring weaknesses I found from skimming over the OU list.

Um, Ice Beam would be better for defeating dragons. Apart from Kingdra, (who takes the same damage from Thunderbolt as Ice Beam) all dragons are hit super effectively by Ice Beam. With Thunderbolt, all you are succeeding in doing is hitting them neutrally, except for Flygon and Garchomp, who aren't hit at all. All dragons in OU (apart from the aforementioned Kingdra) have a 4times weakness. It's like hitting Scizor with a ground move when you could've owned it with a fire move.

The EVs on your Tyraniboah are very strange. 252 HP / 52 Atk / 176 SpA / 28 Spe (the standard smogon evs) are good enough.

Forretress is a terrible lead. Nearly every lead can take it out in one shot.

That Dragonite is definitely not a revenge killer. You may be better off using a standard wall breaker Dragonite or a DDmence.

You could use standard Minite or this:

    Dragonite@ Life Orb
    EVs: 170 Atk/124 Spd/216 SAtk
    Naughty

    - Superpower
    - Fire Blast
    - Draco Meteor
    - Thunderbolt

Hits Bliss with Superpower, Bulky waters with Thunderbolt, Scizor and Lucario with Fire Blast and hits hard with Draco Meteor

Why the hell are you using DD on a SpecsNite =/

Anyways SpecsMence and SpecsLatias really outclass him with better Speed/Special Attack.

Quiet over Brave on Ttar as it'll give his two special moves more power =)

Blissey >>> Milotic when you need a special wall, honestly Miltotic wishes it could be Chansey in the special walling department, try Wolfy's set.

Forretress isn't an ideal lead, try something like Swampert or a suicide lead =D

Take it easy, like I said this isn't a team of MINE, this is my friend's

Dragon Dance with Choice Specs is the future !! lol =x

Also most of your ev's are not divisible by 4.

    Milotic@Leftovers
    252 HP / 252 DEF / 6 Spd
    Bold Nature
    - Toxic
    - Recover
    - Surf
    - Hidden Power Electric

Please, also covers your massive Gyarados weak.

Scizor weak, Rotom/Heatran >> Zam imo, rotom also blocks rapid spin which is cool if you are using t-spikes.

Lucario/Fighters in general weak and forry's role is meh since it doesnt seem to be doing much. Nidoqueen would arguably work better over it and still gets spiking moves, is a better lead that forry and gives you a fighting resist too AND a rock resist which you currently lack.

    Nidoqueen@Leftovers
    252 HP / 200 DEF / 12 SP.ATT / 44 speed
    Relaxed Nature
    Trait : Poison Point
    - Stealth Rock
    - Fire Blast / Ice Beam / Thunderbolt
    - Earthquake
    - Toxic Spikes

The speed beats most min and low speed Metagross (aka lead gross).

The metagame isnt kind to Weavile in all honesty. Scizor is a much better revenge killer for your team and helps your team against Tyranitar along with Nido. SD Scizor would also give you something that poses a sweeping threat too, something which you lack aswell currently. This would also make you less in need of a Rapid Spin removing weavile and thus its SR weak so its another great reason to remove forry.

    Scizor@Life Orb
    74 HP / 252 ATT / 168 SPEED / 16 S.DEF
    Adamant Nature
    Trait : Technician
    - Swords Dance
    - Bullet Punch
    - Brick Break / Superpower
    - U-Turn

The set i use, U-Turn early game and along with Stealth Rock you destroy most of Scizor's checks and then late game clean up the weakened stuff with SD LO Bullet Punches etc.

299 HP (74 hp evs) rounds down life orb damage and 168 speed beats minimum speed Suicune.

    Nido
    Rotom / Tran
    Scizor
    Nite
    Milotic
    Tar

    ^Something like this.

thx for the help guys, apparently my friend is too stubborn to take into consideration any of your advice, but thanks anyway

    ._.

omg this thread should receive an auto-close.

I was actually gonna do it earlier but pc was lagging. >_>

Anyways i am not going to let you keep this thread open because i and other members have just wasted our time rating a sub par team for your friend who doesnt want to improve. Before you make another thread like this make 100% sure your friend wants to fix his or her metagame/pokemon in general weakness and is open for criticism please or i will probably infract you for trolling. ._.
