A Pokemon Shooter: How Bad Ass Would That Be?

I mean not literal shooting, but the player controlling the actual pokemon and aiming the attacks with the wiimote... I personally think thats a great Idea. Why have a console with that technology and not make a game that almost defines the company that uses that technology...

Wh...what?

Shooting Pikachu in the face would be so much more better.

Then you'd get to face off against Magikarp as the final boss.

I don't recall the OP saying anything about it being a hunting game. It could easily be a kid friendly spin-off where you control the Pokemon from a first person view. I think it sounds interesting. FPS doesn't always equal violence, blood, and gore.

Not a shooter, it wouldn't be any fun at all. Whts ur goal?

This idea would be really interesting :) kind of like a pokemon snap point of view, but yea the pokemon instead of a camera :P

In case u never noticed dipshit but nintendo is outselling sony and microsoft by MILES
Woah, Language, Language... Just to tell you, most of the sales are from old people and little kids, and they have the crappiest games, just crap, IDK how some of the games get published, its just a disgrace

Wii is an amazing console, but they don't need to release another for one game series, I agree with the bad games being made, but theres around 40 good quality ones.

Pokemon first person(not a shooter id just go with this)would fail, it's a terrible idea to change an RPG to a FPS(and I know what you mean by FPS I read it all)

Just because nintendo outsells a company doesnt mean there games are better.
It just means they done care

FPS of Pokemon would scream animal cruelty.
Now, controlling a Blastoise's hydro pump in a mini game.
Hmmmmm o:

c'mon, where's everyone's inner gamer? pokemon can get pretty boring if it's just the same turn by turn monotony of strategising. there's nothing to keep you on the edge of your seat, no action, no coincidences. you just happen to miss sometimes, or things happen to fail. bug whoop.

this kind of game has massive potential. it would take out the automatic random chance that we've come to hate over time, and we can see where we fail, not our "'mon" per say. I don't see anyone complaining about the "pokémon trainer" character in ssbb, and it's the same concept...

EDIT: other than that, the whole animal cruelty, what is the original pokemon concept anyway? telling fictional animals to beat the living s%&! out of other fictional animals. people are too touchy and soft about this subject these days...

I can see this idea used in an actual game, not just a spin-off. Where in a way it would still be turn-based, but you could control the attack itself once you've chosen which you'll actually use. So, in a weird, twisted sorta way, it could be a combo RPG/FPS.

I dunno, that's just how I could see it working. It would break the slight monotony of the action itself, while still retaining it's RPG roots.

And that kind of gameplay just appeals to some people.

Liking FPS over RPG doesn't make you a ~real gamer~ or anything, it just means you prefer a different style of gameplay. :/

sorry to imply that you didn't have an "inner gamer". i just meant the one that likes action XD

Interesting idea...
I admit it would be interesting to control Pokemon's moves...
But i doubt they would use that any time soon.
(Maybe in a main series Pokemon Wii game?)
:)

How about one of those space shooters like Galaga, or even StarFox, remember the "Meowthzilla" scene in that one anime episode, maybe you can play as a Pikachu in an Arwing (not nesicarily an Arwing, but one of those space fighter thingies), and you blast evil aliens that invade the Earth through 60 levels, I hope it's one of THOSE shooting games and not ones like Cabellas hunting games

So get this:

Space Shooter like StarFox but with Pokemon = everyone will buy it

First Person Shooter where you shoot Pokemon to death = only Pokemon haters and total morons with a fetish for blood and violence will buy it

Now with further ado:

DO A BARREL ROLL!!!!

Okay I normally don't respond to threads like this, but I had to say this was the funniest thing I read all day.

if you wanted to become a real gamer play strategy games

I think that would work and he would kick butt. I don't want it to hurt pokemon though

Oh, bloody blue...
We can't do True Crime: Saffron City or a Rainbow Six, with Pokemon being your backup in addition to your fellow brothers-in-blue/arms?
