In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, we had a new key item called the Berry Pots, which would allow you to plant berries in it and water them, so you could plant berries wherever you were, water them and then eventually proceed to grow them and farm them. Since fresh soil isn't scattered through Johto or Kanto, and trees always have apricorns unlike in GSC, this makes for its replacement.

What do you think of the Berry Pots? Do you think they were a nice addition? Do you wish this is something they had put in later games? Discuss.

I liked the addition of the Berry Pots! It allowed me to grow berries and not have to go all over to find them. That being said, I didn't grow too many berries; just the ones that I found most useful (Sitrus Berries, Lum Berries, and Leppa Berries). Wish you could use them to grow Apricorns, but I also liked the idea of berry trees, so I'm not too upset that it wasn't possible. I do sort of wish they returned to BW/BW2, especially since the only way to grow berries was via Dream World. I'd rather not log on every day just to check on my berries :< The Berry fields in XY were a lot better than HGSS's, in my opinion; the only downside was they weren't portable.

The addition of Berry Pots was amazing. I loved how you don't need to go half-way around the region just to plant and collect berries; the idea of a portable berry farm was a clever one indeed! And especially when you're growing rare berries, it can be difficult to go check on them. Especially for lazy people haha. This way you can check on them with a press of a few buttons, and woot! There they are. Such an amazing feature! n_n

I would of have also loved this if it was in D/P/Pt. Unfortunately though, they stuck to the original mechanics. That was pretty cool though, especially the sounds when you collected them! ^-^
