Welcome to my gallery! I'm a novice who enjoys making icons, tags, and other graphics on ImageReady...when I feel like it, anyway. Feel free to use anything I post here (unless stated otherwise); giving credit is optional!
Introduction
I started making graphics back when I was about eleven or twelve. Loved making stuff on MS Paint and Lunapic. Needless to say, the results were not that good. Eventually I moved onto Gimp, then to Photoshop/ImageReady, which I currently use. I mostly use ImageReady CS2 over Photoshop CS2, but only because the latter crashes a lot.

Anyway, for the most part I make "simplistic" graphics: I don't use any brushes or C4Ds or textures or anything like that, but just mess with layer settings and color adjustments. As of recent, I've been messing around with textures, blending, and lighting. However, I'm still not that good at it. Here's a list of what I'm working on getting better at:
● Blending. ImageReady lacks the smudge tool, so I can only rely on motion blurring and color settings.

● Lighting. There are some cases in my graphics where the lighting's off or looks weird, so I've been trying to fix that.

● Sharpening. Not a big issue, but there are some pieces that are too sharpened, so I need to watch that. ImageReady also lacks the Smart Sharpen filter, so my best bets are the normal Sharpen filter and Unsharp Mask.

● Gif making in general. Some people can make lovely high quality gifs that are below 2MB and I'm trying to do the same. Even when I use high quality videos the quality doesn't look as good as it could be; however, I've found using the Unsharp Mask filter with this.
With those in mind, I'd like feedback on how I'm doing and any tips as to how to fix any issues. Hope you enjoy my gallery!

So was that you who made some of those 100x100 ORAS icons that can be selected in the profile menu? If so, that's pretty nice. The 200x200s I really like too, but the 200x250s a few of them I feel are a bit lower res. Not too bad though, I do like.

    I love love your 100x100 icons the most! The colors are really nice and vibrant in a lot of them, and the composition is really nice, for example, in these:

    I think the colors are your strong suit in the 200x200 avatars as well! These are my favorites:

    The colors in the Loke one I especially like. <3 I also really love the texture/effect in the last one.

    I have to agree with Stargazer, though. Your largest set of avatars do seem to be a bit lower res than the rest of your avatars. Your gifs are also very similar, there is a lot of dithering especially in the last two. I really don't have any gif tips for ImageReady, though. DX I make a lot of gifs in Photoshop and I have a couple of tips but I'm still not that great at reducing dithering. I'm convinced it's because of my Mac <.<

    Please don't think that just because you don't use brushes or c4ds or whatever that you're some kind of lesser artist. It's not true at all, and a lot of times it takes a much more skilled eye to bring out the colors that make the piece. It's like saying that people who paint are more skilled than people who draw; when the reality is the beauty of art stems from the hand it's draw with.

    And it's clear that you're very talented. It makes me incredibly happy, seeing more artists (whose talents contrast my own) posting their work. You've got an excellent eye for color, and bringing out the best of the focal. I highly recommend you check out A&D's graphics guide, because there are a lot of resources you, in specific, might find interesting. Your positioning is also key, and I find myself easily pulled into the icon, without feeling distracted or like the icon is too messy. I suppose that's another way to describe your work; clean. And I like that.

    Another artist who can do good things in A&D. Happy to have you on board, Yato. It's nice to put a name to all the icons. :)

    At the time I made most of them, I thought they were nice, but after I uploaded and posted them, they didn't look as good as I believed them to be ;~;

    I'd like to hear them! ImageReady can do quite a bit with gif making that more recent versions of Photoshop can do. Of course, there's a chance the tips may not work with it, but I can at least keep them in mind if I ever get a more recent version of PhotoShop :3

    Update 1
    I know I'm not really active on here, but I feel kinda silly that I made this gallery and have never once updated it ;____;

    Anyway, I've made a lot of stuff between the time I posted my gallery and yesterday. To spare y'all the agony of going through some rambles over what I've made, I've enclosed my tl;dr in [spoiler] tags.

    Spoiler:
    100 x 100 icons: a combination of ORAS, Jirachi, Mary Kozakura (Kagerou Project), Toyosatomimi no Miko (Touhou Project), and Natsu Dragion (Fairy Tail) icons. The ORAS icons I started with the intent to make more, but I got lazy and stopped. Made two of each with one having simple layer adjustments and the other with textures. The Jirachi icons were for an icon wall on another forum. The Mary and Miko icons I made for an RP, and the Dragion icons I made for a friend. All icons except the Dragion ones came from fanart found on Zerochan or Safebooru.

    150 x 150 icons: a couple Fairy Tail ones and a bunch of XY/ORAS icons for a forum's default avatar collection. The artwork for the FT ones were drawn by the fantastic rboz!

    200 x 200 icons: all Fairy Tail; again by rboz.

    Tags: a couple FT tags I made for yet another forum; one is actually just a revamped version of the first. I could just show the revamp, but I think it's sort of interesting to see how people adjust graphics they aren't too fond of, haha. Again, artist is rboz.

    Gifs: the first two are of Komachi Onozuka (Touhou Project); one comes from a fan anime and another is my attempt at animating the frames of one of her Scarlet Weather Rhapsody sprites. The third sprite is a recolored Crysal Lapras sprite I made for the Donate bars at the top of the forum. The ones following these I made on Photoshop. Five are of Eclipse Virgo from the Fairy Tail anime, three are of Ki-ja from Akatsuki no Yona, one is of Yoon from Akatsuki no Yona, five are of Meliodas from Nanatsu no Taizai (warning: there's animated blood in the final gif), and three are of Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail. With the exception of the Lucy gifs, I had trouble keeping the quality of the videos during the conversion process, so the other gifs aren't as HQ as they could be. They're also my most recent creations; I made them yesterday.

    Large Pieces: made for my Tumblelog on Tumblr. It's taken from the latest Fairy Tail chapter (418); I managed to get the colors to be nearly the same as Natsu's manga hair color, so I'm really happy about that!
