Do you think it is time in a Pokemon game that once you've chosen your starter Pokemon there are some places where you can capture the starters? Furthermore - catching the two other starter Pokemon?
It should have been since the beginning, but it never will be because nintendo is afraid of change.
To your first point- Yellow. That is all.Getting other starters in your game is the most retarded Pokemon idea I've ever heard. First, it makes no sense from a story standpoint... You already got your starter. You don't get more than one.
Secondly, it's not that difficult to trade for the others and breed. People need to not be lazy and want everything given to them in their own game. And it is NOT about money. It's called human contact and communication with said contact. If anyone knows anything about Pokemon, it should be that Tajiri set out to make a game that brought people together. That's why there's versions. That's why there's version exclusives. And that's why the games have been so successful for 13 years.
Yellow was a one-shot game that existed solely for other people to trade for the starters. My point stands. To your first point- Yellow. That is all.
Yes, it is "Too bad, suck to be you". If they really want the Pokemon, get some friends. And the games come with Wi-Fi. Figure a way out... Oh, and yes. A level one Squirtle is worth that trade. I think so, and I'm sure plenty others would. They're dumb legendaries and a classic starter makes up for it.To your second point- some people don't have Wi-Fi (I'm one of those people) and don't know anybody with the game (I know about three people who have the game, and I hardly see them). So, what are these people supposed to do? Is this just a "too bad, sucks to be you" case? That's really not fair at all. And even if you do have the ability to trade online, who really thinks a Level 1 Squirtle for a Level 100 Dialga/Palkia/Darkrai/whatever is a fair trade? Anyone? I didn't think so.
You're an idiot. You obviously don't know a damn thing about Pokemon if you think it's all about money. Tajiri set out to make a game about communication and player-player interaction, and he succeeded. It's not his fault that people buy every version for themself... You're supposed to get one and your friend/sibling/whatever gets the other. I honestly don't see how that makes anyone more money. And no, the games aren't successful because people love trading and interacting with others. They're popular because of mass merchandising, and because they're a unique, original concept, and have a lot of fans coming back for more in addition to the old ones. No matter what anyone says, we all know that the "One Game for the Price of Two (or three)" system is all about making more money.
No, I wouldn't. But I still would get them because it'd be a part of the game. I never said it wouldn't be nice, just that it's retarded and makes no sense in the context of the games. And if you really think it's such a bad idea, if they ever integrate it, it's not like you'd have to go and get the other two starters.
I don't see how it would "ruin" the game- I always have a ridiculously easy time choosing starters. They should provide a chance to get the other two, but I think they'd need a sidequest for you to earn it, not just hand it over.
They should totally do that. The only game I can think of that lets you get two starters in-game is Emerald, and you have to earn them.
