I just tested and the permissions for editing your own VMs look okay on my end. You're sure that you're talking about visitor messages, which are the messages sent directly on user's profiles, and not private messages, yes? Is this still happening for you? Is it for all sent VMs or just on a specific profile?

Are you using Firefox? Whenever I go to edit a VM using that browser, I get a error telling me that my message isn't long enough. Is that what you are getting or no?
