Suggestion: About Me Custom Subcategories?

    Now this may or may not of been suggested before but I do like this idea and it does sound like a good idea in my head. As long as it wouldn't stress the server.

    Well, I was looking through my bebo account (Which I haven't touched in years) and noticed a feature in which you can add other custom categories into your profile, and I think it would be a great idea if this was put into the about me section of our profiles here. If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, I your own categories that could go by your interests, claims n' stuff. Just a thought. I have a few ideas of stuff I would love to input to my about me section that doesn't go into the categories already there.
     
    Personally, I think it's rather unnecessary to even have as many built-in subcategories and categories and whatnot as we do now.

    I'd like a box, where you could design your own "About Me" with text and a few format choices, like signatures without css or images. And that could be displayed when you click "About Me" in the profile, instead of an endless row of subsubsubcategories that many people don't even bother to fill in. Your signature could still be shown on the bottom, so that any info that's displayed there won't have to be written again in the "About Me"-box.

    This way, you could invent categories the PC staff had never thought about implementing, or just fill your profile with 300 brightly yellow smilies.

    Then again... maybe this would put more stress on the servers than Mew~'s idea would?
     
    I like the idea of formatted "About Me"s like RHCP just suggested, but I don't really think the original idea is needed. Mainly because not that many people even have a sizeable About Me section anyway, and the bio offers loads of space to do what you want with.
     
    Expanding on RHCP's idea, why not allow CSS and images anyway? Don't they always say that "A picture is worth a thousand words" anyway?

    Either way I like RHCP's idea just as well, all the extra fields are kind of pointless, especially if you don't really use them. If we just have a flat box for information then we could just put in anything that applies and jazz it up a bit even. :D
