This thread is hilarious. 18 people are viewing it right now... that's ridiculous. People need to stop getting so pissed over things like this. It's just rep, nothing more. If people don't like what you say, and give you bad rep, then so be it. PM/VM them if you really want to take it further, but know that it means absolutely nothing. If you're really worried about someone over the internet clicking a button and saying that they don't like you, then people here obviously need to get a life.
 
Guys, it's reputation.

Taking it this far as a heated debate is kind of ridiculous. Any negative opinons don't really faze me unless it's from a friend or someone I look up to. I guess some people take other's opinons too heart all the time.

I couldn't agree more. Without the system, no one will have anything to complain about besides the usual small nitpicks some may have. However, at least you won't have constant nagging, whining, and complaints about something so little as numbers and green colored bars. In the first place, no one will ever be ready to handle reputation, because the abuse will always continue, so bringing it back thinking people will be able to handle it isn't what you should think about. The idea of not having it is like music to a person's ear. Staff won't have any problems with this again and members won't have the fear of stating their opinion nor getting negatively repped for something.

Also, by the looks of what people are saying, by all the complaints here, but all the people speaking up...I think it is time for the community as a whole to kick the reputation system out and just have a cleaner community. So many people don't care about, so many people are saying to get rid of it, then why don't we? If all these members, or such a large number of them say to remove it, then do it. In my opinion, get rid of the problem before it just grows even larger at the end.

For those who actually care about reputation and don't want it to go, ignore it. The reason why is because in a matter of days the topic will fade and everyone will completely move on like they did when it was first removed. Also, a lot of people state to disable their reputation because they may not like it. As good as this is, not everyone will do it. Even those that do, they still end up complaining about it at the end...So, again, why keep something of a large nuisance when it can be gone for good.

Really, those users who are taking this as though they are being personally attacked need to step back, calm down, and think about this. All that reputation means on this forum is what some random members think of your opinions. ...Actually, even that is being generous, as what it will really come down to is a handful of ignorant users spamming negative reputation because they cannot handle differing opinions. It does not mean that everyone in the world hates you. It does not even necessarily mean that a majority of users on this forum hate you. All it is, is some green bars sitting on your profile. Nothing more. It has no actual bearing on your lives, unless you allow it to. Who cares about some color on a profile on a Pokemon forum, honestly? It has nothing to do with making a living, it does nothing for getting a job or mortgage, and does nothing for holding together a family.

...Oh, and for the record: No, I would not be angry if one person with 1000 rep power decided to spam negative reputation at me simply for not agreeing with my thoughts. I do not care that much about some small images that mean nothing.

Srsly, if rep bothers you so much, just disable it instead of whinging to the max and potentially ruining it for others.
