So, in Platinum/Pearl/Diamond, word has it that a Japanese Pokemon that breeds with an English Pokemon will have higher chances of producing a shiny. Likewise, a French Pokemon + an English Pokemon will also have the higher chances.

Is this the same for HGSS? I ordered Soul Silver specifically in French today (arriving Wednesday!) just for the Shiny Luck boost. Most of you guys have English copies, so trading with you would therefore = more shinies in the end, by the logic of D/P/PL.

Despite this being true, the chances are still very very slight D: Would they increase if both pokemon are from different regions? ie: French poke and Japanese poke on an English daycare?

I don't know lol but I do know that if you have an English version breeding with a Japanese Pokemon, the chances of breeding a Shiny are raised.

Thus why I got the French version :P Gonna mass-reproduce all of your guys' English Pokemon just to please my Shiny satisfaction, assuming that the same idea is implemented from D/P/PL to HGSS.

I also like how I can transfer Power Items and transfer IVs down through breeding! That 13/31/27/31/31/22 Eevee I have will finally be useful!

The question you asked should be in the Breeding Question Thread. But I must admit myself the whole different language breeding was interesting.

This should be in the Help Thread. But I must admit myself that was interesting.

Yuh, I spaced on that thread; I think this a question that a lot of people who want to know the answer to, though. Shinies are uber-loved.

The way it works has nothing to do with whether they're English, French, etc. It could be any two Pokémon -- breeding compatible, of course -- from any two separate regions.

    Slovak & French
    French & Spanish
Danish & Swiss (c wut i did thar?)

But no, the Daycare itself has nothing to do with it. Any two Pogeys from any two separate regions.

I play PWO and trust me, 1/2048 is a lot better than the original chances. 3/4 better, actually! A lot of people find Shiny Pokémon in the game because they donate and it becomes so much easier :\ Still not super-easy but still, way easier than normal!

So I guess I did well to order the French one specifically lol Yay for being bilingual. It helps in more ways than you think!

So if you breed a French & Japanese Pokémon on an English copy of a game, it doesn't affect the ratio? That's fine, I s'pose. 1/2048 is still "great" odds.

Well, there's your answer. Next time use the Help thread please, although breeding questions are good to go in that aformentioned breeding thread.
