That's quite a hard one to be honest.

Ash's Squirtle is a very unique Pokémon, it's full of personality, extremely funny and a leader. It had a very fun friendship with Ash's Bulbasaur, it wasn't shown much, but there were those moments in the Christmas special and in the silver league conference. And you've got to admit those Squirtle Squad glasses are pretty awesome.

Ash's Staraptor is probably one of Ash's best handled flying type. I enjoyed watching it battle throughout the whole of Sinnoh. It may not have had a decent standing out personality, but I do respect in somewhat. I liked how they evolved it like they did with Swellow, only against Paul in that Poké Ringer Contest.

Overall though, Squirtle does get my vote, but it is very close.

I loved Squirtle, especially in the episodes with the Island of the Giant Pokemon or something like that. It had a funny personality and it wore shades.

Staraptor was pretty bland in my opinion. I give it a lot of respect, as it was one of Ash's greatest handled flying-types, but it just kind of stops there.

Anyway, Squirtle....1st he was a starter, 2nd he had a bit of a cool and funny personality, especially with the shades B)
And at last, overall, he is strong and has much experience.

On the other hand, we have an extremely unique ,and POWERFUL literary, regional bird. I have no problem with a bird having no personality since that's what they are. All of them are like that.

Now..Seeing that Staraptor have mere votes, makes me wanna vote for him. But that's not the only reason, Staraptor also looks so Cool IMO. Love the way he looks with the cool red hair stretching out. He is Fast and has powerful attack stat. Lets not forget, he has CLOSE COMBAT, a Heck of a move.

I love Squirtle too, he has as many Pros too, but I wanna Give my Vote to Staraptor for some reason :/

Let's see....I pick Staraptor and this is why.

IMO, I absolutely graciously would want to embrace this best regional normal/flying Pokemon. Why I think its much better than Pidgeot or Swellow etc? I don't really have much to back up but I just like it. I mean, it has the coolness aura and personality depth. Such confident, and often, rash and barbaric, but that doesn't mind me. In fact, I believe it spices up the image of a Staraptor. :3

I didn't choose Squirtle, like I would normally do. I sorta like the story of the Squirtle Squad but I didn't quite like how he was immature at the start, although that was one of the reasons why Squirtle had great development. However, I'll pass for all the starter love and the fact that I didn't watch much of its battles(I did watch the one where he learned Hydro Pump). x3

Staraptor! Gosh. ;-; I seriously love this Pokemon so much. Squirtle was a nice strong Pokemon, but Staraptor gets my vote, mainly because it's so damn cool.

Tough one, but I'd like to go with Squirtle because of its shades and how well it got along with Bulbasaur.
